Ramadan 2011 began on or around August 1 and will end on or about August 29. Muslims, ever contentious about nearly every matter, even disagree among themselves as to when Ramadan should begin.

Since then, Republicans won big in the November 2010 election and came back to Congress with multiple plans to address the budget, debt and entitlements. The response from Obama and the Democrats has been to demagogue GOP plans using every scare tactic in the book, like pushing Grandma off the cliff, and even some new ones (like Obama's veiled threat to withhold Social Security checks).These kinds of inconsistencies in Obama's past and present statements need to be brought to the fore.

SO, WHY TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THE ECONOMY NOW BY FORCING OBAMA TO ACCEPT EVERYTHING WE THINK IS GOOD AND RIGHT AND BASED ON SOUND PRINCIPLE?
MAYBE IT MAKES POLITICAL SENSE TO MAKE A GOOD COMPROMISE, AND RUN FOR FURTHER CHANGE IN 2012?
MAYBE TEA PARTIERS SHOULD ACCEPT A GOOD DECENT TURN TO THE RIGHT, AND NOT EXPECT [A] TOTAL 180 CHANGE RIGHT AWAY?

I have to wonder if Obama is grandstanding about the debt ceiling so as to avoid attention being focused on Project Fast and Furious.

Jean Weber of Destin filed a complaint with the Department of Homeland Security after her 95-year-old mother was detained and extensively searched last Saturday while trying to board a plane to fly to Michigan to be with family members during the final stages of her battle with leukemia.
Her mother, who was in a wheelchair, was asked to remove an adult diaper in order to complete a pat-down search.
“It’s something I couldn’t imagine happening on American soil,” Weber said Friday. “Here is my mother, 95 years old, 105 pounds, barely able to stand, and then this.”...
