Treating Cancer
by Sam Huntington
Malignant neoplasis is a broad range of diseases involving the unregulated growth of cells. We also call this cancer. In cancer, cells divide and grow uncontrollably, forming malevolent tumors, which invade nearby parts of the human body. There are over 200 different cancers known to detrimentally affect tumors.
There is also another cancer that threatens human societies. We call this malevolence Islam. If one is paying attention (note: I have never made this assertion), then one cannot help but notice how busy Moslems have been over the past fourteen hundred years—and that no matter where these people go in the world, they destroy or vilify everything they touch. In short order, they transform beauty into crude ugliness; they destroy innocence and horrify people in the name of their satanic god and its primary spokesman —a pedophile named Mohammed.

Tales From The Classroom
("Tales from the Classroom" is a feature posted occasionally here at this blog. All tales are true and present matters about which I have personal knowledge. The following tale relates the story of something that happened on March 25, 2014.
Yesterday, I showed a DVD copy of Fitna to my American Government homeschool class as part of our study of the First Amendment. Jaws dropped, and, although I had intended that the showing of Fitna should consume less than half the class period, the discussion continued for the remainder of the class time we had. I made a point of explaining that the word "Islam" means submission — not peace (an incorrect definition which we hear time and time again).
Both parents and students participated in the discussion that ensued after a few moments of stunned silence upon the conclusion of the film. One parent, who grew up in Lebanon, provided valuable information about shari'a. After all, she knows a lot of that information firsthand.
Overall, however, I was amazed that so few parents, quite informed about most current events of all types, were unaware of the beheading of Drummer Lee Rigby on the streets of London on May 22, 2013!
I typically show Fitna to particular classes, which I teach on a rotating basis according to a four-year culce: World History and American Government. To preface the film, I always tell the class a bit about Geert Wilders and some of the events portrayed in the film; I also share with the class some recent current events related to the worldwide jihad. After the film, I sent the students a followup link — this year, Hiding in Plain Sight: Jihadi Activism on Twitter (dated March 24, 2014).

The status symbol mentioned in the article so often amounts to wasting our lives, and we should strive against being caught in the web of busyness. But avoiding the status symbol of busyness won't be an easy task.

Spain Versus Morocco
The price of having Muslims as neighbors...
From Morocco World News (March 10, 2014), via Sharia Unveiled:
A few days after hundreds of African migrants stormed a border fence in an attempt to cross into the Spanish enclave of Melilla from northern Morocco, Spain is planning to tighten its security around Ceuta and Melilla.Just what Spain's ailing economy needs, right?
[...]
Spain´s Interior Minister Jorge Fernández DÃaz, who spoke to Euro Weekly News, specified that reinforcements in the coming weeks will include “lining the six-meter-high fences that surround both cities with a type of mesh designed to impede anyone from climbing”.
He added that in Ceuta, “an additional 20 civil security agents are to be deployed and a helicopter to help with the dissuasion and detection of migrants..in Melilla, the government is planning to build three watch towers that will be equipped with heat-sensitive cameras.”

Council of Islamic Ideology declares women’s existence anti-Islamic
Islamabad - Sharia Correspondent: The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) concluded their 192nd meeting on Thursday [March 13, 2014] with the ruling that women are un-Islamic and that their mere existence contradicted Sharia and the will of Allah. As the meeting concluded CII Chairman Maulana Muhammad Khan Shirani noted that women by existing defied the laws of nature, and to protect Islam and the Sharia women should be forced to stop existing as soon as possible. The announcement comes a couple of days after CII’s 191st meeting where they dubbed laws related to minimum marriage age to be un-Islamic.

The Looney Left
by Sam Huntington
No one I know on the right believes that capitalism is perfect. No one I know on the right thinks that our economy should operate without any regulation or oversight. What we do believe on the right is that they, who govern least, govern best. And while I think there should be oversight, we should pay as much attention to those who are doing the oversight, as we are to those whose corporate behaviors we intend to monitor. I am confounded by the fact that placing government in an oversight role is akin to hiring a fox to guard the hen house.
But what is it, exactly, that the leftist believes about the economy? There are several variables, of course. Some of these people are Keynesian ideologues who dream about a welfare state through industrial democracy. Others believe government should nationalize the economy and govern through central planning. One might recall that the Soviet Union tried central planning, too. Yet, some on the American left persist. It is the classical demonstration of insanity—at least according to Albert Einstein. Still other leftists are anarchist communists. Amazingly, while many of these people denounce globalization, they seek to impose it through their illogical support of the United Nations.

Tales From The Classroom
("Tales from the Classroom" is a feature posted occasionally here at this blog. All tales are true and present matters about which I have personal knowledge. The following tale relates the story of something that happened the first time that I as a student teacher was in sole charge of teaching a class — in 1973, at a school in an upper-middle-class and wealthy area)
The following paragraph from this recent essay at the Washington Post's web site prompted me to recall the first time that I took the helm as a classroom teacher of a high school class:
The following paragraph from this recent essay at the Washington Post's web site prompted me to recall the first time that I took the helm as a classroom teacher of a high school class:
All of you former students: you did not design curricula, plan lessons, attend faculty meetings, assess papers, design rubrics, create exams, prepare report cards, and monitor attendance. You did not tutor students, review rough drafts, and create study questions. You did not assign homework. You did not write daily lesson objectives on the white board. You did not write poems of the week on the white board. You did not write homework on the white board. You did not learn to write legibly on the white board while simultaneously making sure that none of your students threw a chair out a window. If only my first test as a teacher able to control a room full of students had been limited to the possibility of a student's tossing a chair out a window!

Thought For Today
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 10,000 Baby Boomers reach retirement age every day.
There is a tsunami upon us, and America has not prepared for it. In fact, most individuals have not significantly prepared.
Aging Boomers is but one problem threatening our nation's economy. See Robert J. Samuelson's essay "America’s Demographic Denial" (March 2, 2014).
Even worse, America has become a nation willing to surrender individual freedoms.
America's best days are over.
The weather here today, however, is going to be a real taste of spring. Therefore, I won't be dwelling on the ugly realities but rather enjoying this earthly life, a gift that doesn't last forever.

Just Say Hugs
by Sam Huntington
Where do thugs come from? They begin from tawdry, lustful relationships in which one or both parents turn away from their responsibilities as parents. This comes as no surprise, at least not to me, when there wasn’t very much responsibility displayed in the consummation of that sordid liaison to begin with. Or they spring forth from the loins of individuals who are having babies when they are still babies themselves. It is common to find that such parents, usually single mothers, begin to resent the children for their own cheap behavior. There afterwards begins detachment away from the children, who have become a pain in the ass, which only makes the children themselves feel less valued. The cycle repeats.

Doo Wa Diddy Diddy Dum Diddy Doo
by Sam Huntington
I have to admit that I did watch the film entitled 2016: Obama’s America, produced and directed by Dinesh D’Souza. He uh, also had a starring role. I thought it was well done, but typical political fare. The man does know how to manage expenses. While I didn’t learn anything new about Obama in the video, I’m quite sure that there were those who did learn something. The way I view this is simple: D’Souza did after 2008 what the press should have done before 2008.
But now D’Souza is in trouble for alleged violations of the campaign finance laws in the 2012 US Senate race in New York. I have no idea what he did, or even if he did it. What does concern me is that some GOP senators are claiming that D’Souza is a target of politically motivated prosecution —in some circles known as malicious prosecution. This is getting to be business as usual in the Obama administration.

("Tales from the Classroom" is a feature posted occasionally here at this blog. All tales are true and present matters about which I have personal knowledge. The following tale relates the story of an experience that I had in January 1971, when I was taking my first course in education so as to certify as a teacher in secondary school)
Dr. Evers, an elderly professor who taught Foundations of Education, the first required course for teacher certification, was a piece of work.
A real piece of work.
One could make the case that Dr. Evers was merely senile. Or one could make the case that he was a rabid Leftist.
Whatever.
All students seeking teacher certification at the university had to take this one course from him.

You betcha ...
by Sam Huntington
Apparently, it isn’t enough that John Kerry has embarrassed the United States in his meeting with the Russians, nor even that he has completely destroyed any US credibility in his gallivanting around the Middle East (as if the US has ever had any credibility in the Middle East). Now he’s found his way to China where he met with Chinese president Xi Jinping and others of the Chinese hierarchy who haven’t had a laugh in a few days.
Why is John Kerry meeting with the Chinese president, you ask? There are several possibilities. They may have wanted to discuss the good old days when both of them fought on the same side during \the Vietnam War, or they may have been joshing with one another, telling prisoner-of-war jokes. One old favorite is, “How many Navy pilots can you get in one 3x3 cell?” Maybe they were discussing whether or not John Kerry should attend the next People’s Liberation Homecoming, or what Barack Obama would really like for his next birthday from the Chinese people —who, after all, owe him a great deal. They no doubt also discussed esoteric topics, such as unicorns, climate change, and curtailing North Korea’s nuclear ambitions.
Officially, John Kerry asked to talk about human rights in China, and Xi told him, “Oh sure—you betcha we talk plenty about human rights. We can fit that in after our trip to the GM factory, where we are making more Chevrolet’s than you round-eye Americans, ha ha ha.” Kerry became so excited he wet himself, but this was not a problem because the Chinese anticipated that something like this would happen.
According to the State Department (the people who actually killed Chris Stevens), “Kerry’s visit to China is part of an Asia trip meant to reinforce the administration’s commitment to rebalancing its foreign policy focus.” No one knows what that means, exactly, and the State Department spokesman wouldn’t take any follow-up questions from Fox News.
Kerry also found time to visit Seoul, South Korea where he could do some shopping for Teresa Heinz-Kerry — at the taxpayer’s expense, of course. They call such trips “junkets” for a reason. So in conclusion, everyone should know that all is well in the Land of Oz; the Obama administration has our back; the American people can turn over now and go back to sleep.
You betcha …
Apparently, it isn’t enough that John Kerry has embarrassed the United States in his meeting with the Russians, nor even that he has completely destroyed any US credibility in his gallivanting around the Middle East (as if the US has ever had any credibility in the Middle East). Now he’s found his way to China where he met with Chinese president Xi Jinping and others of the Chinese hierarchy who haven’t had a laugh in a few days.

Book Review: Iquitos, Peru: Almost Close
(If you must have politics, please scroll down)
How to review this unique book, one that is impossible to classify by the usual genres? The must-read blurb from the back cover of the book is HERE.
Now, for my review (also posted at Amazon)...
Part memoir, part picaresque romp, part societal commentary, and part philosophy – and absolutely worth reading. I found myself rereading portions both to laugh at some of the hijinks and to think more about some of the ideas expressed.
Iquitos, Peru: Almost Close by D.W. Walker is a book to savor!
I often donate books that I've read to my local public library. I won't be doing so with this book, now a permanent part of my home library.

You own it, Democrats
by Sam Huntington
Watching this video, I wonder how many staunch Democrats can say they are proud of how their president and his cabinet handled this 3 a.m. phone call. No matter how many times they dodge the issue, deny it, blow it off as much ado about nothing, the fact is that American leftists own this disgrace. And the video is right about something else, too ... we need Americans leading America, not Kenyans and not communists.

But of course, some will stop by and claim that Benghazi is just another phony scandal, all seeking to destroy the sterling reputation of our first black president and his Chicago thugocracy. Okay ... fine. Then let's take a look at something else the Democrats own ...

Base Jumping
by Sam Huntington
This is an extreme sport where people jump off high cliffs with parachutes. One recent couple tried this, but only half of them reached the bottom safely. The parachute of the newly-wed female failed to deploy and she fell 2,000 feet to her death. Her husband jumped after she did, and ended up walking 10 miles to get help. I’m not sure what kind of help he needed at thiat point, other than help with processing his wife’s remains.
In any case, since base jumping is illegal in national parks, the husband has been cited by federal authorities.
Personally, libertarian leaning person that I am, I have no problem with people jumping to their death. Actually, I don’t even feel saddened by this story. If you are going to involve yourself in an extreme sport, then expect the worst to happen. Eventually, statistically, it will. This is why I am looking at this as the timely demise of someone who was just asking for it.

Bathroom Follies
There really are not words to describe how far beyond weird this story is:
On January 31, 2014, I posted about this story at Infidel Bloggers Alliance, where I gleaned further information via comments (emphases mine):
Maine’s highest court: Transgender student’s rights were violatedRead the rest HERE. You have to read it to believe that this is the sorry condition into which America has descended by leaps and bounds. The court's ruling was 5-1. The decision wasn't even close!
Nicole Maines’ school was wrong to require the fifth-grader to use a unisex bathroom, justices rule in a historic gender-identity decision that could be a model for other states.
The rights of a transgender girl from Orono were violated when school administrators made her use a staff bathroom at her elementary school instead of the girls’ restroom, the Maine Supreme Judicial Court ruled Thursday.
The ruling is the first in which a state supreme court has affirmed a transgender person’s right to equal access to restrooms in places of public accommodation.
Lawyers representing Nicole Maines, who is now 16, said the decision could lay a foundation for other states’ courts that are facing questions about the emerging rights of people who identify as the opposite of their birth gender....

Ethnic Cleansing
by Sam Huntington
Carmelo Garcia is the Executive Director of the Hoboken, New Jersey Housing Authority. He is also a state-assemblyman (elect) who accused Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer of attempting to force him to remove minorities out of the city, in favor of white, affluent residents [Source]. But Superior Court Judge Lawrence Maron dismissed Garcia’s lawsuit against Zimmer because of the fact that Garcia used the phrase “ethnic cleansing” of minorities. It is a term typically reserved for mass genocide, the judge said.
The lawsuit alleged that Zimmer’s plans for public housing ultimately sought to change Hoboken Housing Authority by replacing “old guard” (long term) residents, mostly made up of Italians, Africans, and Hispanics with a “new guard” of upwardly mobile white residents.
Judge Maron said that Garcia can re-file his lawsuit on or before 14 February, absent the words “ethnic cleansing,” and Garcia has indicated that he will do that. One may recall that Mayor Zimmer is the individual who accused Gov. Christie of withholding federal funds from Hurricane Sandy. She is now accused of perjury in the Housing Authority case for lying during sworn testimony [Source].
Much of this is probably no more than business as usual in New Jersey politics, but given the record of racist policies by democrats over the past 100 years, the allegation that a New Jersey mayor sought to remove minorities form public housing does not come as a shock. No one is a better poster child for Democratic/Progressive Party racism than Margaret Sanger, who may have invented the term “ethnic cleansing.” We know that Adolf Hitler was impressed with Sanger’s ideas.
“The demand that defective people be prevented from propagating equally defective offspring … represents the most human act of mankind.” —Adolf Hitler, Mein Kempf, 1926
“Birth control, which has been criticized as negative and destructive, is really the greatest and most truly eugenic method, and its adoption as part of the program of Eugenics would immediately give concrete and realistic power to the science … as the most constructive and necessary of the means to racial health.” —Margaret Sanger, The Pivot of Civilization, 1922
But if this news article does anything at all, it reinforces the notion recently posted at our friend Z’s blog [Source]. Democrats may sneeringly refer to conservatives as racist, but well documented history and behavior shows us that it is the progressive movement with the most atrocious record toward minorities.
