I know that many of you don't care to watch Tucker Carlson regularly.  You and I disagree there: I try to watch every night — especially the opening segment.  In my view, Tucker Carlson offers some matters to consider or offers a different insights about certain matters you have already considered.

I admit that I myself admire the biting sarcasm in the video clip below:

Extremely brief précis for the above: War is peace, freedom is slavery, Ignorance is strength (George Orwell, 1984).  

The referenced Washington Post opinion piece, dated October 18, 2021, is reproduced in full below the fold, along with my brief commentary:

Never Forget

For some of us, at least, the images and sounds of that day are seared into our memories. 

A few of us, at least, recognize that the soldiers of Allah in the name of Allah, according to the teachings of the Quran, committed those murders.

And a few of us, at least, also recognize that our enemies remain ready to attack again.  For example: Taliban Commander vows jihad against the whole world.

Perpetual Islamic "holy war" against the infidel (any non-Muslims).  Weep for the West.

Some reading for today (Washington Post, September 3, 2021): My father was killed on 9/11. I still struggle to understand how he just disappeared.

So we stayed home, businesses closed, and tens of millions of Americans lost their jobs. But with the exception of New York City, the overwhelming surge of coronavirus patients never really appeared—at least not in the predicted numbers, which have been off by hundreds of thousands.

[H]ospitals and health care systems nationwide have had to furlough or lay off thousands of employees. Why? Because the vast majority of most hospitals’ revenue comes from elective or “non-essential” procedures. We’re not talking about LASIK eye surgery but things like coronary angioplasty and stents, procedures that are necessary but maybe not emergencies—yet. If hospitals can’t perform these procedures because governors have banned them, then they can’t pay their bills, or their employees....

Mueller On The Hill (With Addendum)

On Sunday, the Washington Post, in effect an arm of the Democrat Party, offered this interpretation of Mueller's testimony.  From this opinion piece by Nicole Hemmer, assistant professor at the University of Virginia and co-editor of the newspaper's daily historical analysis section:

...The GOP’s laserlike focus on Simpson, Fusion GPS, former FBI agent Peter Strzok and other bits of right-wing lore probably played well in conservative media (and, as a consequence, in the Oval Office). But it was almost certainly inscrutable to any American who is not dialed into Fox News, right-wing talk radio or conservative-leaning Facebook feeds....

Along those same lines, a Democrat at the swimming pool where I go for r&r every summer must have nodded her head in agreement if she read the above essay at the Washington Post. Last week, this woman opined to me that Mueller's testimony clearly demonstrated to America that President Trump is "a terrible man."

Ilhan Omar: Lying Social Justice Warrior

From Ilhan Omar Admits Lying to High School Students: Omar told a fake story to illustrate 'American racism, cruelty and injustice' (dated July 8, 2019):

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D., Minn.) admitted to flubbing the facts of an anecdote she told a large group of students to illustrate the "racism, cruelty, and injustice" she's seen in America since being accepted as a refugee more than two decades ago.

The freshman representative told 400 high school students she was sent to a Minneapolis courtroom where she witnessed a "sweet, old … African American lady" who spent the weekend in jail for stealing a $2 loaf of bread to feed her "starving 5-year-old granddaughter," according to the Washington Post. Omar says she screamed "Bullshit!" in the court room after the woman was fined $80 for the crime.

"I couldn’t control my emotions," Omar told the crowd, "because I couldn’t understand how a roomful of educated adults could do something so unjust."

The Post had several pieces of evidence indicating Omar was not entirely truthful about this experience.

"Omar’s story echoed the plot of ‘Les Miserables.' If true, it is also probably embellished," wrote Greg Jaffe and Souad Mekhennet, the author's of the Post‘s article.

"City officials said that police aren’t allowed to arrest people for shoplifting unless there’s a likelihood of violence or further crime. Typically, shoplifters are sentenced to attend a three-hour class."

Asked about the story, Omar admitted "she may have flubbed some facts," Jaffe and Mekhennet wrote.

"She might have had a prior [arrest]," Omar told the Post. "I’m not sure…The details might not have all matched, but that’s what I remember."

Omar has also been dinged recently by the Post and others for "botched basic facts" during her attempts to "go viral."

"Recently, she told a group of veterans that about 45 percent of military families rely on food stamps," Jaffe and Mekhennet wrote. "She was trying to make the point that Republicans didn’t care for the troops. The actual number is less than 5 percent, according to Pentagon statistics."

One of the problems of such lies is that the retractions thereof do not reach the audience lied to.

Trump Omitted From The 2020 Ballot?

From Trump could be left off some states’ ballots in 2020 if these bills become law (Washington Post, March 20, 2019, emphases mine):

In refusing to release his tax returns, President Trump bucked decades of tradition and set off a Democrat hunt to obtain them. Now several statehouses are looking at making their release a condition of the 2020 presidential election: Show us your tax returns, or you can’t be on the ballot.

Eighteen states have considered legislation this year that would require presidential and vice presidential candidates to post their tax returns to appear on the ballot during a primary or general election, according to data from the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL).

Proponents of the bills, such as the one passed by the Washington state Senate this week, say they are aimed at increasing transparency and returning to the “norm” of candidates releasing their financial records. But Democratic lawmakers behind the some of the legislation have admitted they are also very much about Trump, which raises legal and political questions about how far states can — or should — go in regulating who appears on their ballot, especially in a hyperpartisan climate.

In addition to Washington, several other states, including California, Hawaii and New Jersey are considering similar bills....

...[N]ot all politicians think this kind of legislation is a good idea. In 2017, then-New Jersey Gov. In fact, suggestions to that effect have been ongoing since at least June.

The Democratic Party may be stuck, however, in that none of the fresher-faced candidates who are obviously angling for White House loom particularly large. Furthermore, Barack Hussein Obama and Joe Biden do not seem ready to step aside — particularly in the minds of members of the Cult of Obama.  As for Elizabeth Warren:

The right has begun investing in damaging storylines around Elizabeth Warren, for instance, attacks that closely resemble portrayals of Clinton as, for instance, hypocritical and untrustworthy.

At a recent press conference, San Fran Nan was shouted down by the very people for whom she is advocating. The footage below makes me think of a substitute teacher who has lost control of a rowdy middle-school class:

About Los Zetas:

The Zetas gang, also known as Los Zetas, was originally part of the Gulf cartel, one of Mexico's largest and deadliest criminal organizations which was established in the mid 1980s.

Zetas was formed in 1997 by a group of Special Forces defectors which served the larger cartel and acted as enforcers for them. They were hired, predominantly, as bodyguards and assassins and there were 31 of them in total to begin with.

Their name translates to 'The Zs' and is derived from the code names given to their leaders - all of which start with the letter Z.

Because of its members advanced military training, they brought a new level of sophistication to the underworld and created fresh challenges for US law enforcement agencies trying to crack down on the Mexico's drug gangs.

In 2002, they struck out on their own.

Unlike other gangs which navigated large parts of the underworld through making deals with violence a collateral side effect, the Zetas MO is torture and terror.

They are responsible for the 2010 massacre of 72 illegal migrants whose bodies were found dumped in a mass grave in San Fernando.

Images of the victims, who were from other Central and South American countries, shocked the world and illustrated the brutality of the Mexican cartel world.

They were savagely killed after refusing to work for Los Zetas or give them money to be released.

Related Washington Post sob story: He was brought to Virginia as a toddler, deported at 19. He died in an overheated tractor-trailer trying to return.

Note that this young man had both a criminal record and a deportation record — never mind that he was a fine-looking young man and educated in the United States, at the expense of the Fairfax County taxpayers.

Certainly some illegal immigrants are good people. But the fact remains that some are not, and this ugly reality applies to some protected by DACA, established by the Obama administration in 2012.

Close our porous southern border!
