Mona Eltahawy – Again

I have previously posted about Mona Eltahawy and her vandalism of a sign in the New York City Subway.  The Muslim Brotherhood lauded her vandalism.

HERE she is again in a different context, that of her Tweet questioning the recent arrest in New York City of a wannabe jihadist terrorist Quazi Mohammad Rezwanul Ahsan Nafis:
Is this Fed Reserve bomb plot another of those entrapments?
Twitchy has more HERE.

Jihad Watch also has MORE, and many of the comments are particularly interesting.

"Moderate Muslim" Mona Eltahawy, who became a United States citizien in 2011, certainly seems dissatisfied lately with life in the United States.

Don'tcha just hate it when the Feds ruin your Thursday by tricking you into thinking you're really slaughtering, oh, I dunno... An abortion clinic and hundreds of innocents surrounding it?

    Don't you, Christians?

I think I'm going to be sick.

  6. Just an everyday guy who was tricked into making a very large bomb ... sure, sure, that's the ticket ... it could have been you or me.

  7. Send her to the Taliban. They'll teach her what's good about Mooselimbs.

  8. But she looks so HAPPY.
    Maybe it's all the attention.

  10. Revoke the Sharamootas citizenship and kick her ass out of the USA.
We don't need a turd like her in our country and it further solidifies my postion to BAN ALL MUSLIME IMMIGRATION.
Nobody has a RIGHT to immigrate here.

  11. Eltahawy wrote many essays and articles about the First Amendment and its importance in a free society.

The next time she made headlines, she was defacing a sign that offended her.

    Pfffft.

In essence, she is now defending jihad.

The mind reels at the inconsistencies she has evinced.

  12. It seems reasonable to ask the question. We are spending enormous sums and sacrificing quite a bit of freedom and privacy in this "War on Terror". They have to produce a bad guy now and again to avoid questions.

Eltahawy's position has some merit. We know about the extensive NYPD spying operation that infiltrated all kinds of Muslim activity, often illegally, and came up with nothing, zero, nada, zilch.

Boston sources are reporting on the activities of the regional command center and the extensive data they have collected on war protesters and others who have engaged in legal peaceful assembly. Prepping for the clamp down.

So here comes one of these Muslim guys looking to do whatever and they always run into a sting. Doesn't seem to be any established terrorist network in the U.S. Yeah, he's probably a bad actor but there should be a little skepticism.

The people who never color outside the lines have to be kept feeling safe you know. At any cost.

Yeah, like poor Major Nidal Hassan. Or José Padilla. Or the Lackawanna Six. Or Iyman Faris. Or eleven members of the Virginia Jihad Network. Or Shahawar Matin Siraj and James Elshafay. Or Yassin Aref and Mohammed Hossain. Or Michael Curtis Reynolds. Or many others.

Yep, Ducky's spot-on analysis comes through again: when confronted with evil, apologize for it.

  15. I agree with Ducky. There are moderate Muslims.

    And unicorns.

And pots of gold at the end of a rainbow.

Oh, and also, hope and change.

  17. I read enough of your post to know it's healthier for me NOT to read more about this idiot in your links!

Ya, it would have been better to let this wannabe try again with LIVE explosives? What the HELL is she thinking? And she'd have Harvuhd grads defending her, too, right?

She's a menace. Send her back to Egypt.

  19. Hi AOW, i've been noticing that her 'tweets' are evolving lately in a different path, i'm interested to see if in this case the 'butterfly will turn in a caterpillar'.

  20. Will,
After reading your comment, I looked at Eltahawy's tweets.

    I found these:

"After my Nov. 29 court appearance, I'm moving back to Cairo."

    and

"NYC knows that I am leaving and its in full seduction mode. Be gentle, NYC, my broken heart can only take so much."

Based on some of her tweets involving the poetry of Neruda, Eltahawy may have a love interest over in Cairo. I also note that, contrary to her previous position on the topic, she is quite hopeful about the direction that Egypt is now taking.

  21. In truth this girl LOOKS like any other ordinary, not very pretty American female. In fact there's something kinda cute about the way she looks in that picture.

If she's so gol-durned ISLAMIC, why is her hair artificially curled and colored, why is she SMILING, and why is she nor wearing a HIJAB -- at the very least?

I'm sorry, but I do think defacing signs in the subway, if hat;s what she really did, is every bit as "American" as it is "Islamic."

I'm a native New Yorker, and I can tell you from firsthand experience that putting mustaches on subway ads was already a great sport back in the nineteen-FORTIES -- and probably long before.

My mother used to say with a wry little smile, "WHOOPS! The Subway Morons have been at it again."

It may have been "illegal," but no one took it seriously I assure you.

We may be overreacting to this girl's gesture, whicc frankly is no worse than the CRAP we put up with from our OWN "students" back in the Sick-sties.

    Seriously,

  22. FT,
I realize that defacing signs is somewhat of a tradition on the NYC subway system.

But in front of such an audience?

As part of a journalist's agenda?

She was supposed to be a freedom-fighter journalist who passionately supported freedom of expression, and she spent several years establishing a particular journalistic persona -- one that supposedly denounced acts of vandalism, crime, etc.

Ms. Eltahawy is very proud of what she did and frequently speaks about it now. The Arab press is lauding her. The Muslim Brotherhood is lauding her. She is reveling in the praise -- as shown in her Tweets.

On one level, it seems to me that she is doing all this partly as a publicity stunt. Certainly, she is getting some publicity.

She has also stated that she wants it to become culturally unacceptable to criticize Islam. Sounds like a form of stealth jihad to me.

  23. The "broken windows" excuse (all subways have graffiti) is just that, an "excuse".

Where did the "paint" come from?

    Premeditation.

  24. Here's a thought....

Perhaps Mona Eltahawy has changed her mind about her previous approach or has been pressured to change her mind. See THIS.

  25. Jason,
Hello! I overlooked your comment earlier.

Anyway, if a terrorist attack is averted in NYC, I would think that anyone living in NYC would be glad -- and relieved.

From what I've read about this wannabe jihadist, he had plenty of opportunities to back off from the planned attack. He didn't.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Jason,
Besides, engineering a jihadist attack isn't nearly the same thing as trying to purchase an illicit drug, the end result of which hurts the user and not an entire city. Just sayin'.

  27. That poor girl Mona. She is so misled by the devilish religion of Islam. People need to pray for her.

    ROTFLMFAO!

Nostradumbass, that's pretty rich coming from a Sophist such as yourself.

Most probably, it isn't actually sophistry in the classical sense but more a form of sophistic relativism untempered with any kind of self-awareness what-so-ever.

I doubt that you are even capable of having a "tempered discussion" with yourself.

  29. I meant every one of the "slogans" I posted above -- and have been saying and posting in various venues since 9/12/01.

HOWEVER until we find the moxie -- and the good common sense -- to BAN ISLAM, and DEPORT the MUSLIMS, we will have to out up with shenanigans like Mona's -- and far far WORSE.

Islam is INCOMPATIBLE with Western Civilization. PERIOD!

The First Amendment should NOT extend so far as to protect the "rights" of those who mean to DESTROY us -- and I'm not just talking about throwing bombs. INTELLECTUAL aggression is far more powerful -- and deadly than the more obvious kind.

  30. Warren,
    Hehehe.

Duck has so often insulted commenters here that most commenters have relegated him to the role of comic relief. I've actually had frequenters of this blog email me and beg, "Please don't ban Ducky. He's funny."

Now, I know that Duck wants to be taken seriously -- at least, most of the time. But he has a LONG blogging history of hurting his own credibility. I wasn't around during "the FPM days," but I've been filled in on some details that transpired there.

  31. Z,
I can't blame you for not wanting to know more about Eltahawy. In fact, I very nearly didn't publish this blog post as I believe that Eltahawy (1) has marginalized herself and (2) has descended to the role of attention whore.

One of my friends says that we should ridicule Ms. Eltahawy by nicknaming her "Menopausal Mona." She really is all hot and bothered these days. Ha, ha.

Apologizing is the 21st Century meme.

Our politicians, in particular, are ever apologizing! Mr. AOW mentioned that constant apologizing to me yesterday.

Maybe the apologizing meme actually began with Bill Clinton's mea culpa, but the apologizing has certainly ratcheted up in the 21st Century.

I do note that Mona Eltahawy is NOT apologizing in any way whatsoever.

  34. The recent open mosque day in Southern California does offer some matters of concern:

    Sharia-compliant behavior

Militant literature on sale or in library

    Foreign influence in the Mosque

    Visitor Pamphlets

    Gender Discrimination

    Racial Discrimination

    Sectarian Discrimination

    Details at the above link.
