Remember this 2009 video of Obama's promise about the General Motors warranty?
Um, not exactly. According to Reuters:
"New GM's warranty obligations for vehicles sold by Old GM are limited to the express terms and conditions in the Old GM written warranties on a going-forward basis," wrote Benjamin Jeffers, a lawyer for GM. "New GM did not assume responsibility for Old GM's design choices, conduct, or alleged breaches of liability under the warranty."The warranty in question relates to a suspension problem with 2007 and 2008 Impalas.
Read the entire Reuters article HERE. You'll note that the warranty was honored for police vehicles.
Whoever runs as the GOP candidate in 2012 needs to compile a list of the many lies and broken promises on the part of the Obama administration and force him to confront those lies and promises during a public televised debate.
Government lies and changes the rules all the time. I guess it's no wonder the crony crapitalists who suckle at its teats would exhibit the same behavior...
ReplyDeleteAm I surprised by this scam? Not one iota.
ReplyDeleteI truly hope that the GOP candidate does compile such a list and goes for the jugular in '12, but I fear I've seen so much weakness coming from the right that I haven't much hope for it.
Another Obama promise is broken.
ReplyDeletetypical.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, you guys feel the quake very strongly?
How can he show his lying face in front of anyone I will never know.
ReplyDeleteHope the quake wasn't too exciting and glad that you an Mr.Aow are fine.
Mr. AOW and I live about 100 miles north of Richmond.
ReplyDeleteYes, quite a shaker here. I was in an office building (first floor), and after a few seconds, we all realized that the shaking was not being caused by a big truck. Outside we went -- some distance from the building.
I'm glad that I was in the office building and not out and about driving the convertible, which I'd been taking for a spin in today's beautiful weather.
Traffic was total gridlock in less than an hour, the worst of the traffic being that fleeing Washington, DC.
A bit of damage here at home: some items on shelves fell to the floor, and one item -- the ceramic giraffe given to me by my beloved aunt who passed away last November-- was badly chipped. No china broken, thank goodness, as I inherited that china service from my paternal grandmother born in the 1880s. None of my beautiful glassware handed down from generations damaged either.
Mr. AOW was home alone and not harmed in any way -- other than a bit frightened at the thought of being trapped in the house.
No structural damage to the house as far as I can tell.
But I have to say that the experience of an earthquake being felt here in Northern Virginia was unnerving!
Comment of the day at Infidel Bloggers Alliance (left by Anonymous):
ReplyDeleteObama just issued Executive Order #395876 instructing the USGS to rename the area around the epicenter to "Bush's Fault."
Is anyone really surprised that Obama is a liar?
ReplyDeleteGlad you didn't have too much trouble with the earthquake (except, of course, for your ceramic giraffe). We felt it here in South Jersey, too.
Conservative Lady,
ReplyDeleteIs anyone really surprised that Obama is a liar?
Only if people follow only the mainstream media's blatherings.
Yesterday, after the earthquake, my friend in Illinois -- he is not a Democrat, BTW -- phoned me, He and I don't get to talk very often. Anyway, he was surprised to learn that the warranty on his Impala might not be upheld as he thought and had heard. As one who doesn't use the computer, he had no idea about the abrogation of the GM warranty! And he typically manages to keep up with such developments.
My friend said, "Why isn't the GOP using these facts to discredit Obama right now?"
Indeed.
So...what other promises were 'broken' that upset you? Are you really going to tell me you're upset Gitmo is not shut down?
ReplyDeleteBy the way, this is not a broken Obama promise and it's not even a GM broken promise. Oh the lengths the wingnuts go to keep their feigned outrage.
