Blogger Z! has this anecdotal story of interest today. Excerpt:
...In a shop in Beijing (a city in which guides tell you NOT to talk politics), [my cousins who recently visited China] saw row upon row of T shirts and coin purses that have a picture of Obama on them and the words OBA-MAO! My cousins asked how they heck they could do that and WHY? They said people in CHINA say that Obama's "MAO'S MOST FAMOUS STUDENT".......My cousins were stunned. The shop owner said "We here in Beijing think America's more Communist than we are now...we get to keep some of our money now."...Be sure to read Z's entire post by clicking on the above link!

And remember THIS about the Obamas' first Christmas in the White House?
I was just there thanks to you ...
ReplyDeleteI was just at Z's. And I find this very disturbing.
ReplyDeleteDidn't Obama say a few months back that his life would be a lot easier if we had a government more like China?
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteConservatives On Fire,
ReplyDeleteDidn't Obama say a few months back that his life would be a lot easier if we had a government more like China?
Good tie-in with my post. Thanks!
Here is one link to the info:
“Mr. Obama has told people that it would be so much easier to be the president of China. As one official put it, ‘No one is scrutinizing Hu Jintao’s words in Tahrir Square.’”
So basically, the average dude in China tells more truth about Barack Obama than the entire American media.

Apparently, this story has been in play for a couple of years. Michelle Malkin, October 2009: http://michellemalkin.com/2009/10/19/introducing-oba-mao/

Always On Watch,
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Obama realizes just how bad this makes him look. I don't think it will effect anyone who one of his major supporters, but people who are on the fence, maybe turned by this. Off course if it were down to just this, we wouldn't have much of an argument not to vote for him, but when you are president of the United States, and a communist state is openly celebrating you, it doesn't look good.
Aiigator,
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely correct that this story isn't new.
That said, Z does confirm the story -- definitively.
Damien,
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Obama realizes just how bad this makes him look.
In my view, Obama is incapable of believing that he can be put in a negative light. He believes his own propaganda of being "The One."
if it were down to just this, we wouldn't have much of an argument not to vote for him
Perceptions do matter at the ballot box. If the mainstream media were to cover some of the worst stories about Obama -- stories that we in the blogosphere see on a regular basis -- he would not have won in 2008!
King Shamus,
ReplyDeleteSo basically, the average dude in China tells more truth about Barack Obama than the entire American media.
Yep.
I guess a commie can spot a commie a mile away, eh?
ReplyDeleteYes, it does the confirm the anecdote Z reported.
ReplyDeleteRemember in 2009 White House Communications Director Anita Dunn said this, “The third lesson and tip actually comes from two of my favorite political philosophers: Mao Tse Tung and Mother Teresa – not often coupled with each other -- but the two people that I turn to most to..." What an affront to Mother Teresa, pairing her up to Mao. Two philosophies that are diametrically opposed - one advocated life and mercy, the other resulted in the deaths of 65 million Chinese and the virtual destruction of China's' cultural heritage, yet this dingbat found a way to merge them.
Then you have Van Jones an open professing communist who Obama appoints as the (unconstitutional) Green Czar. Along with that pesky little Mao Christmas ornament (the concept of Christmas and Mao is diametrically opposed.
And then professor Obama himself admits that Saul Alinksy another communist, inspired him. Then he throws HU a state dinner while throwing the Dali Lahma and Netanyahu under the bus. And he reassures us: "I absolutely believe China's peaceful rise is good for the world, and it's good for America," In the meantime China is expanding its military, still threatening Taiwan, still absorbing our manufacturing capacity, and we are still beholden to them for loans to run our country.
After awhile, you have to conclude that something is going on with this president's philosophy. But I think what is going on is more than the "communism" as we've understood it in the Soviet era. In the same way, I don't the president is a Muslim though he certainly respects it.
I think he is a globalist looking for the "middle path" between two of the world's largest philosophies that are mutually opposed to western civilization, individual liberties, capitalism, and anything smacking of Judaism or traditional Christianity.
Anything to do with Olbama is a travesty. The media needs to wake up or do they support him? I mistakenly use to believe that the media was unbiased.
