He was a classy guy. I love that period of movies and music, although it belongs to my grandparents and parents.
I've got a few Dean Martin "best of" CD's and well as Ray Charles, Sinatra and others of that era.
Deano's version of that song is not my favorite, though. Bobby Bare does a great rendition, but Ray Price does the best job, his shaky voice really wringing out all the sadness of that song. I think it is the saddest country song ever written, but I guess you have to have lived through something like that.
The imagery of the lyrics is beautiful. Kris Kristofferson is a brilliant songwriter.
Sinatra. He was one of a kind. We were at an Italian restaurant a few weeks ago and all they music playing was Sinatra, what a pleasant evening it was.
