The Idea Is Spreading?

(With a hat tip to Beamish)

A follow-on to THIS INFORMATION, read these words from Peter Orszag, Obama's former OMB director (dated September 14, 2011):
To solve the serious problems facing our country, we need to minimize the harm from legislative inertia by relying more on automatic policies and depoliticized commissions for certain policy decisions. In other words, radical as it sounds, we need to counter the gridlock of our political institutions by making them a bit less democratic. [source]
Beamish commented:
Wake up, people. Democrats are a threat to the American way of life in ways Islamic terrorists only wish they could be.
Remember THIS last July from Obama?
"The idea of doing things on my own is very tempting. I promise you, not just on immigration reform. But that's not how our system works. That's not how our democracy functions. That's not how our Constitution is written," Obama said at the National Council of La Raza's annual conference.
The items for the you-can't-make-this-stuff-up file are piling up!

  1. What is that stench? Oh, it's coming from the ignorance-riddled goostepping statist comments above mine...

Dimbulbs who author such comments, and the dimmer bulbs who cheer it on do not pause to think how stupid and hypocritical they are when criticizing republicans for doing the same thing.

This is why tea partiers advocate small government, a limited government as envisioned by the founders.

Beady Brain: Think about this. If it's ok for "your guys" to hijack to power of government to ram their agenda through, then it's OK for "my guys" to do it too.

See how this is wrong? See how only a government of limited, enumerated powers can minimize this nonsense?

  2. No sense arguing with the senseless, SILVER. Socialists...er, Democrats now talk about less democracy & suspending elections (of course--they got their heads handed to 'em in the last election & it'll be worse in 2012) while brain-dead libs cheer 'em on & insist that it's Republicans who are gonna destroy the country?? Puh-leeze.

  3. Hi AOW.

You know what i think of the Obama admin and i said this week to Pasto: 'if he thinks he can get away with it, he will go for it'.He still thinks he's to week to take power once he gets the people turning on Congress he will make his move.Actually i think he doesn't care about the election results his plan takes a totaly different route.

  4. Bd, for once be an adult and actually say something about the post. Save the infantile "yeah but what about you" comments and give us your thoughts on Orszag wanting to bypass democracy or the Gov of North Carolina wanting to piss on the Constitution and suspend elections for 2 years.

AOW, I posted on the Gov of NC tonight. I find it a little hard to believe that these comments coming back to back is a coincidence.

  5. Will,

Do you think that route includes inciting riots? Obama's last comments to the black community included a reference to put away their bedroom slippers and put on their marching boots?

  6. Blogginator,
You mentioned: Do you think that route includes inciting riots?

Read about this recent ugly incident in Philadelphia. The incident does predate Obama's September 24 speech to the CBC. But the incident may point to the future. America is on the edge of a violent precipice, I think.

  7. Chuck,
Bd, for once be an adult and actually say something about the post.

    No kidding.

I am really growing weary of the my-guys-are-better-than-your-guys meme. So junior high.

  8. Silverfiddle,
What is that stench? Oh, it's coming from the ignorance-riddled goostepping statist comments above mine.

I would delete the stench except that it's educational for pointing how wacko the Left is. Furthermore, statism is anti-American. See the federalism principles in the United States Constitution.

  9. About the governor of North Carolina and her recent statement of the necessity of abandoning elections for two years....

From the NC Oath of Office the NC Oath of Office:

Before entering upon the duties of an office, a person elected or appointed to the office shall take and subscribe the following oath:

"I, ..........................., do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and maintain the Constitution and laws of the United States, and the Constitution and laws of North Carolina not inconsistent therewith, and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of my office as ............................................., so help me God."

Article I, Section 2 of the United States Constitution reads as follows:

The House of Representatives shall be composed of Members chosen every second Year by the People of the several States, and the Electors in each State shall have the Qualifications requisite for Electors of the most numerous Branch of the State Legislature.

The governor of North Carolina is breaking her oath of office by advocating suspension of elections. Is that treason?

  10. No doubt a test ballon to see how far it goes. I think most of us have thought that this would be Obama's last stand in remaining in office and to hold off elections if need be. They are so far ahead of us it is scary. But then they are from Chicago.

  11. Obama is a would be dictator and he will continue to operate as such until his last day in office. The Constitution, the Congress and, the Supreme Court are irrelevant to him. he will use his bully pulpit to drive his wedges of hate between the American people be it race or be it economic class.

  12. "Do you think that route includes inciting riots? Do you think that route includes inciting riots? "

Do you think playing footsie with the Black Panthers, the union thugistia's who escaped with impunity as well is just a coincidence? Do you think "flash mobs" and violence is coincidental as well?
It's all warm up folks so don't kid yourself into thinking it's all coincidental and nothing to think about. Obama said he wanted an army as well armed and trained as the US military and he has been forming one since before he took office and with control of the DOJ he has allowed thugistas to walk free and roam the streets with no worry of being arrested.
One recent columnist said that this election was going to be the dirtiest that he could recall or had read about. He is right and Obama and his minions are going to stop at nothing to maintain power on election day and the days leading up to it.

  13. Oh and his class warfare accusations is not a political ploy it is a deliberate attempt to rile up one segment of society against the other with hopes of violence. Nothing like a good crisis and certainly not one he will allow to be wasted. Martial law? You bet!

  14. Another perfect reason I am part of the Tea Party movement. We are fed up with government spending and control.

I must admit I am bit tired of the elementary behavior of the Left. They only insult and never really have any soluble solutions. Just rhetorical nonsense.

  15. Leticia: Yeah, why spend money on say....food safety regulations. I think you all need to go out and buy a cantelope, lol!

Tickers: Lol, yeah like how the tea party and the lies from right wind media have been riling up the looney wingnuts. How they have made average Americans hate another who happens to belong to a union? Gime a break.

onservativesonfire said.."Obama is a would be dictator and he will continue..." Oh now, that's just too stupid to respond to.

  16. Gotta love the left, folks like Bd suggest that we should eat tainted food and die...how it that new tone of decency working for you. Probably about the same as the hopey changey nonsense from their leader.

When did any one in this thread suggest we should have less food safety inspectors? How is that even relevant to our current discussion.

I am not completely without sensitivity. I understand you guys were raised in a government school so you have trouble concentrating on anything for more (squirrel)...oh damn now you are on to contour farming in East Africa.

FYI--we already have food safety inspectors so i guess those people placed their trust in government employees....

  17. From now on I am going to randomly throw in the word squirrel...

This should distract our left leaning jello based on green jello leftists on the website and allow us adults to have an intelligent conversation...

    squirrel

  18. I freely admit that I believe the Democratic Party was founded by evil conspirators intent on destroying the US Constitution (as they were anti-Federalists opposed to its ratification in the first place) and that even now they sit in hidden lairs drinking aborted baby blood and plot their next moves.

The sight of an Obama sticker on a car frightens me because it is statistically likely that that car contains a bomb meant to kill as many Americans as it possibly can.

  19. Woodsterman,
In other words ... Do as I say.

That's the Left in a nutshell.

  20. Ticker,
his class warfare accusations is not a political ploy it is a deliberate attempt to rile up one segment of society against the other with hopes of violence.

    Yep.

BHO never intended to be "the uniter," even from day one.

Now, will there be enough voter remorse to boot him out of office in 2012?

  21. BD... wow. I've seen MANY more teenagers online be more polite and more sensible.
Can't say I'm surprised by any of this... then again, its been this way as long as I've followed news

  22. Isn't it amazing how Democrats always complain about Democracy when they lose and then crow about it when they win?

They are always touting their rights when they want to protest something that conservatives are doing and yet when the shoe is on the other foot they want to find ways to take away or dilute the rights of others.

This tendency goes beyond their socialist leanings and has roots in other forms of European tyranny from the 20th century. Just like they are always pointing fingers at us and shouting "NAZI" I'd say they are the real national socialists.

    Seig Heil!

  23. Well this kind of thinking is possible when you think of the Constitution as a living document.
