2016 Is Here

Worth remembering and resolving to do — even as we, willingly or unwillingly, become more and more immersed in election-year politics:

    1. The homeschool group with which I'm associated has established a bookworm club. Parents and the teacher are participating, too. Keeps all of us reading more!

  2. Hell for me would be standing in the rain with no umbrella and nothing to read.

  3. My New Years Wish:

If we could only nullify the entire last 7 years, and remove the most useless President to ever inhabit the Oval Office, it would be a really great trick, or Miracle, and it would make me feel pretty damn good...

But, if the incoming President can get it done next year, well, there may be a chance for America yet..

  4. Confucious very wise. My dear elderly aunt died reading, found sitting up with a book open in her lap. It was one of the blessings of her later years that her eyes were good, as she was a teacher and loved to read.

    1. I hope that I go that way!

Your aunt was very blessed that her eyes were so healthy. Even in this age of medical advances, eye troubles can be vexing -- or worse,

  6. I'm reading news on the internet every day. About the only time I have a book in my hands is my weekly Sunday afternoon at the beach where history and biographies are my usual fare. Just finished President Bush's memoir.

As for 2016 I wish I could say I am optimistic about the New Year. But I see the problems of the last few years getting bigger and more bloody not less so. I don't see any change in that for 2016.

    1. Mike,
I'm forcing myself to do at least some reading outside the political sphere.

I'm not optimistic about 2016, either. I think that it's quite possible that hot war will break out in the Middle East -- and maybe elsewhere, too.

Glad my parents didn't live to see this mess!

    1. Same to ya!

The blogosphere is going to get hotter and hotter the closer we get to the November Elections. Could be some fun I all that heat.
