A Convert To Islam? (Updated)

UPDATE: Gun supplier in California attack connected to shooters’ family by marriage.

ABC News photo purported to be an actual photo of Enrique Marquez, Jr.:

The guy who is apparently being questioned about helping the San Bernardino jihadists to obtain guns

Just the other day, I told a friend that I thought that Enrique Marquez, Jr., could be a convert to Islam. My intuition may be proven correct. Time will tell.

The Jerry Lewis like guy who sold the guns to the San Bernardino jihadis was a convert to islam
Investigators with the FBI today questioned Enrique Marquez Jr., the man who originally purchased the two “assault-style” rifles used in last week’s San Bernardino shooting in which 14 people were killed, according to law enforcement officials briefed on the probe.
Authorities have been trying to talk to Marquez, 24, since the weapons were first traced to him, but could not until today because he was being evaluated for an unspecified health care issue, the officials said.
Marquez, who used to live next door to San Bernardino shooter Syed Rizwan Farook in Riverside, California, purchased the guns back in late 2011 and 2012, officials said previously, but it is not known if he played any role in Wednesday’s massacre.
FBI Director James Comey said Friday that the gun buyer, who was not publicly identified at the time, was not then considered a suspect in the attack.
When asked today about Marquez’s status, FBI Assistant Director in Los Angeles David Bowdich told reporters he was "not prepared to discuss Mr. Marquez at this point."
Around the same time Marquez bought the long guns, Farook personally purchased the two other weapons, both handguns, that years later were used in the deadly assault on San Bernardino’s Inland Regional Center, officials said.
Police said last week that all four weapons were purchased legally, but it is unclear how Marquez’s guns ended up in the hands of Farook and his wife, Tashfeen Malik, during their rampage.
When ABC News visited Marquez’s home this weekend, a makeshift sign in the yard said to “keep off” the property.
Neighbors who spoke to ABC News said Marquez and Farook were longtime friends, but the relationship appeared to have grown more distant as Farook became more conservative recently.
An individual associated with a local mosque, who asked not to be named, said Marquez started coming there three or four years ago, after he had converted to Islam.
The person said Marquez was shy and polite, but did not seem that bright. Two members of Farook’s family, but not Syed Farook, attended the same mosque, the person said.

This question was forwarded to a friend who worked in Saudi Arabia for 20 years. The following is his reply:

    Theologically - NO.

H is allegiance is to Allah, the moon god of Arabia .

    Religiously - NO.

Because no other religion is accepted by Allah except Islam. (Koran 2:256)

    Scripturally - NO.

Because his allegiance is to the five Pillars of Islam and the Koran.

    Geographically - NO.

Because his allegiance is to Mecca to which he turns in prayer five times a day.

    Socially - NO.

Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews.

    Politically - NO.

Because he must submit to the mullahs (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and destruction of America, the great Satan.

    Domestically - NO.

Because he is instructed to marry at least four women and to beat and scourge his wives if they disobeys him. (Koran 4:34 )

    Intellectually - NO.

Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.

    Philosophically - NO.

Because Islam, Mohammad, and the Koran do not allow freedom of religion or any form of expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist, because every Islamic government is an authoritarian regime.

    Spiritually - NO.
Because when we declare ourselves to be “one nation under God,” The Christian God as revealed in the Gospels is loving and kind, while Allah is never referred to as Heavenly Father, nor is he ever called Love in any of the Koran's 99 so-called Excellent Names.

Therefore, after much study and deliberation it seems advisable that we should be suspicious of ALL Muslims infiltrating Western societies. Obviously they cannot be both  “good” Muslims and “good” Americans or Frenchmen or Germans or Britons, etc.

Call it what you will it's still the truth. The more we understand these things the better it is apt to be for our country and our future.

  4. Thanks, AOW. I wondered about the connection.
Though, with a picture like that, I'd fear we were being scammed.

    1. Ed,
That photo is from the ABC News Twitter feed!

    2. He's an artsy-fartsy type. I wouldn't be surprised if he uses this as his launching pad to fame and fortune.

  5. Looks like somebody's doin the Jihadi polka polka on his back door

    1. We call that the cheeky high jab. men are for pleasure. womens are for cooking and making little jihadis.
