ReplyDeleteit shows what can happen when people really listen and stay calm and can share thoughts/beliefs without fearing insults.
ReplyDeleteI've put THE TRIAL on my Netflix list; finally, one of the few films I haven't seen (I hope...sometimes, while watching, it seeps in that I had seen the film years before).
Your conversation about LEAVE IT TO BEAVER and FATHER KNOWS BEST was particularly encouraging; Yes, people do yearn for those days and there are still those who do help others in that bubble of goodness these shows showed.

Let us know what you think of The Trial, z.
DeleteZ,
DeleteIt is a relief for both WC and me to host a show that takes a break from politics. Yapping about politics all the time is a grim occupation and can tip over into obsession, something that I know about only too well.
Let me know what you think of The Trial. It is an intense film.
Another "take".
DeleteLet's hope this comment doesn't post twice; I'm so sorry this is happening, AOW. I keep hoping it stops by itself as others have had this problem at GeeeZ but I seldom do. Wish me luck! Sorry to clutter your blog!
DeleteDucky and AOW, I will definitely put it on the top of my QUEUE right now so I see it soon.
Thanks

Good show, guys! Maybe dystopian films became popular because things were starting to go wrong in our own society... DDT, the Santa Barbara oil spill, etc.
ReplyDeleteps - Vincent Price... the Last Man on Earth...
I think you may be correct that the first wave was environmental.
DeleteOr perhaps there are also other forces at work...
Delete..like a form of interpassivity.
...an exercising of our mirror neurons that satisfies our urge to exercise these urges "directly" w/o having done so.
DeleteOr perhaps "the shoa" had something to do with it.
