America Today?

Mind-numbing idiocy on display! Note the ages of those interviewed:

What do you want to be that most of those interviewed have college degrees? Maybe even PhD's!

  1. I have no doubt these folks are pretty well lettered.....Art History majors, Gender Studies majors, etc.....you know, all of the technically relevant schools of study.....

    1. CI,
Higher education has become a joke -- a very expensive joke. And when I say "expensive," I'm not referring only to money.

    2. AOW, as you know, it's costing our whole country that college students don't know who the VP is, etc. I can't even watch Watters World anymore...I click off for his segments. I don't find it funny.

  2. I always wonder how many are interviewed and what % are really as ignorant as the finished product would lead us to believe? Also, in this case, were there any blacks? Having these questions, however, I'm not disputing the fact that there are far too many benighted among us and they VOTE!

    1. Jon,
I wonder about the sampling, too.

But that any Americans as ignorant as those in the video could be found at all boggles my mind. To my knowledge, the story of Martin Luther King, Jr., is well covered in every school in America -- not to mention on television in various types of programs.

    2. Why do you assume none more Republican?

    3. Ducky, who said none are Republicans??
I believe AOW says "ANY Americans" Republicans are Americans, too.

John, I keep hoping you're right; that Jesse Watters and videos like this are only showing the REALLY stupid ones.!

    4. It would be interesting to poll the idiots in the video to find out for whom they voted in the last two elections.

I do not assume that they are all Democrats, BTW.

    1. No need to continue this discussion at this thread. We were discussing this matter at the previous blog post.

    The answer is, no.

I don't disagree with you. But CensoredSpeech's comment was removed because it was off topic and belongs in the previous thread.

Irony, huh? Because the commenter's "name" is CensoredSpeech.

    1. Ben Carson should grab the bulk of them.

    2. Carson's the only one who could do brain surgery, that's true.

Woodsterman....I'm afraid this represents AMERICAN SCHOOLING more than Obama voters; though when presidents let GloZell interview them and we know people even at this site who didn't find a problem with that, you have to tend to believe they're probably Obama voters.

  9. AOW, when I first heard him say MLK Jr had just died, I thought "How the heck old IS this video..? but it's in color..!" Took me a second to realize what was going on. And then when he said "Astronauts", I really had to laugh through my tears :-)

Uneducated people are gullible, aren't they; voila, the Obama voter who thinks MSNBC rocks.

Reality check: in the blogosphere, nobody is required to debate anyone else.

    3. Jersey,

It's very rare when either you or Ducky make an honest attempt to "debate" anyone. Instead, you just insult and indulge in name-calling.

It's a bad habit too many of us have fallen into.

Instead of jeering, making condemnatory pronouncements, or trying to outshout each other, wouldn't it help raise the quality of our exchanges if we asked each other questions, listened attentively, and then politely tried to answer them?

    4. FT,
You are more patient with JMJ than I; I am more patient with Duck than you.

That said, as I mentioned in another comment, I grow weary of salvos. Salvos are not discourse, nor are they communication. Nothing is accomplished! Well, except to fuel the ego of those firing the salvos.

  15. FT - exactly! Not sure if you mean the video or Jersey, but it applies to both. What's scary: these people vote!
