Quotation Of The Day

The situation has deteriorated drastically since the statement below was published.

“Under Obama, the United States has suffered some real reputational damage,” admitted Washington Post columnist David Ignatius in May, adding: “I say this as someone who sympathizes with many of Obama’s foreign-policy goals.”
Read the rest of Damage to Obama’s foreign policy has been largely self-inflicted (Washington Post on May 6, 2014).

Also consider this information from Commentary Magazine (September 1, 2014):
By 2017, the U.S. military will be an increasingly hollow force, with the Army as small as it was in 1940, before conscription; a Navy the size it was in 1917, before our entry into World War I; an Air Force flying the oldest—and smallest—fleet of planes in its history; and a nuclear arsenal no larger than it was during the Truman administration.
Defenders and supporters of Obama, GET A CLUE!  We are standing on the precipice of the abyss.  Why can't you see that abyss?

  1. Maybe the newest news and that a second American has been beheaded will force President Obama to recognize that he has to stop playing Golf and stop going to “Fund-raises” and that he has no more compelling priority today than stopping the Islamic State and its blood-shedding of Americans!

In its latest barbarity, ISIS aimed to project American weakness to the world. Just before he beheaded Steven Sotloff, the ISIS executioner explained the butchery this way:

WE are back, Obama, and they are back because of your arrogant foreign policy towards the Islamic State, because of your insistence on continuing your bombings. . . So just as your missiles continue to strike our people, our knife will continue to strike the necks of your people.

He’s half right. Obama’s policy has contributed to this tragedy, but not because we’ve been too strong, It’s because YOU have been so weak!.

It’s because of the fact that YOU have NOT taken any action except to show these Sons of Bitches that YOU have been the worst of both worlds: too weak to eliminate ISIS but stupid enough to not do anything . After all President Obama is was YOU who declared, “We don’t have a strategy yet.”

Wherever ISIS goes, it leaves a trail of human cruelty whose way is marked by the blood of men, women and children who don’t share its twisted brand of Islam. The beheadings of Americans and proudly posted on the Internet — are especially distressing because they are meant to underscore the impotence of the world’s mightiest power to stop them.

It’s too much to expect the Obama administration to admit ISIS is in good part a function of his choices, and do a swift 180 degree turn and wipe these bastards off the face of the earth?
Or that this is what comes from treating terrorism as a law-enforcement issue.

It’s too much to expect the Obama administration to now call these TERRORISTS “TERRORISTS”
Instead of using US power to bring home to our enemies that we will exact a high price for molesting Americans, we have the Obama law-enforcement model: Wait until the crime happens, and then hope you can bring the guilty party to federal court.

All around the world, Obama and the United States are mocked.
YOU bombed 2 empty buildings and a truck. and they cut of the heads of TWO AMERICANS! Because obama has no intention of hurting his Muslim brothers.
As a result, the world is a far more dangerous place for innocents, whether they be passengers on a Malaysian civilian jet, schoolgirls in Nigeria, Christians and Yazidis in Iraq, a Marine in a Mexican prison, three Americans in North Korean prisons or now two American newsmen who have been beheaded.

The president’s only real option is to step up attacks on ISIS in Iraq, launch new attacks on ISIS targets in Syria and make clear to the world that he will get the jihadists who murdered these American citizens.

And not by arrest and trial: The world needs to see the BETTER justice then our Ambassador Stevens and our Navy SEALs received....

    1. A Muslim interviewed on the Kelly File (Fox) has the correct approach to dealing with ISIS, in my opinion. He said that ISIS should be taken on by a UN peace keping force made up of mostly Arabs.

  3. "Defenders and supporters of Obama.......... Why can't you see that abyss?"

It would be an admission that they were wrong in the first place. Don't forget that perpetual childishness is one the main characteristics of a Liberal and children hate to admit when their wrong.

  4. Something to consider on the Commentary piece on force size. Such analogies confuse capacity with capability. Comparisons on fleet and air wing size - between the present and the past - fails to take into consideration the fact that a much smaller present day force, has a far greater capability than the past force.

Obama has led a poor foreign policy, but arguments on non-measurable 'feelings' are an equally poor venue with which to oppose it.

      Valid point.

However, what amounts to vague feelings has become the new method of analytical thinking. **sigh**

    2. Very true. Our cable "news" proves this to us day in and day out.

  5. "Some of his critics’ proposals are half-baked or downright dangerous. But Obama is right only up to a point."

Now substitute virtually any president for "Obama" and you get an idea why the column isn't worth much.

He should have funded the Syrian opposition, i.e. ISIS? That needs some context.
And this wingnut is still harping on Benghazi.

Sounds like a hatchet piece from a Hillary supporter but the suckers will love it.

    1. Duck,
      About Benghazi:

A U.S. security team in Benghazi was held back from immediately responding to the attack on the American diplomatic mission on orders of the top CIA officer there, three of those involved told Fox News’ Bret Baier.

Their account gives a dramatic new turn to what the Obama administration and its allies would like to dismiss as an “old story” – the September 11, 2012 Benghazi attacks that killed U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans.

Speaking out publicly for the first time, the three were security operators at the secret CIA annex in Benghazi – in effect, the first-responders to any attack on the diplomatic compound....

  8. A Second Opinion

Does ISIS want a military confrontation?
They are certain;y being as provocative as possible.
But the issue is whether or not to just jump into this. Impulsiveness helped
get us here and prudence seems advisable.

    1. That's certainly not a stretch:

"All that we have to do is to send two mujahidin to the furthest point east to raise a piece of cloth on which is written al-Qaeda, in order to make the generals race there and cause America to suffer human, economic, and political losses..." -- Osama bin Laden

    2. Duck,
Regardless, in my view it was extremely unwise for Obama to make such a statement publicly. I have to wonder if that statement ("no strategy yet") sends a message that actively promotes ISIS's recruitment efforts.

    3. Well, such comments are in poor taste.

I myself never cared for Joan Rivers. Hers not my style of comedy, for one thing. That said, I typically do not speak ill of the dead -- and have no respect for those who do.

So, now let's not turn this thread into the topic of Joan Rivers.

  11. Man, if Ignatius is turning on Obama in even the tiniest way...that's big.
"Abyss?" I had to laugh at CNN's Ashley Banfield this morning when she said that Isis terror is due to "RELIGION!" Which religion, Ashley? Mormons? Amish? Protestants? Catholics? Hmmmm let's not GUESS, it might give the world a clue. We'll be in an abyss until we can name it and get a plan to eradicate it, not keep it a 'manageable problem.'
I'm thinking this mess with ISIS isn't such a bad thing when we hear the horrors they're putting on Muslims, too. Maybe they'll wake up to the horrible part of their 'religion'...or can I say that without being called a MUSLIM HATER? :-)

That was my take as well.

As far as naming the religion associated with ISIS, the politically correct will never allow themselves to state that connection in public.

The hardcore supporters will never make any such admission. As you pointed out, they'd rather die that admit their own mistake.
