Zimmerman Found Not Guilty

State never proved its case, legal analysts say.

Yesterday, before the verdict was rendered, the leader of the Norfolk Chapter of the NAACP posted the following on Facebook, and demands for his resignation ensued:

Your thoughts on the Zimmerman trial and the verdict?

  1. Note
    this statement
from Zimmerman's attorney after the verdict was rendered:

“(George Zimmerman) A man who believes in the system… A man whose dad was a judge, who maybe wanted to be a cop or a prosecutor and then gets a system… Two systems went against George Zimmerman that he CAN’T understand. You guys, the media, he was like a patient on an operating table where mad scientists were committing experiments on him and he had no anesthesia. He didn’t know why he was turned into this monster, but quite honestly you guys had a lot to do with it, you just did, because you took a story that was fed to you and you ran with it and you ran right over him and that was horrid to him.

Then, he comes into a system that he trusts… Let’s not forget six voluntary statements, voluntary surrender, and he believes in a system that he really wanted to be a part of, right? And then he gets prosecutors that charge him with a crime that they could never ever prove. It’s not like they… they didn’t lose evidence along the way, right? So, I don’t think anyone would argue with me in this room, that they had evidence of 2nd degree murder. This “in your heart” kind of stuff, that’s not what we’re supposed to do and it’s not what they’re supposed to do. so, those 2 systems failed him!”

I'm not hearing this on TV.

  2. I got mugged back in 1994 while I was changing a flat tire. I had a deep gash in my head, and blood was running into my eyes.

I came up swinging with the tire iron.

If I killed anyone (no stories in the news, so I never knew for sure), it was in self defense.

When a person is defending himself, anything goes!

I'm glad that Zimmerman was not convicted.

  3. Justice served.

Note this idiocy from the Florida State Attorney:

State Attorney Angela Corey said after the verdict that she believed second-degree murder was the appropriate charge because Zimmerman's mindset "fit the bill of second-degree murder."

  4. Indeed. The state did not prove their case.

It was political from the beginning.

  5. So I get up this morning with everyone marching around calling this a race issue. It was never, ever a "race" issue. I am completely fed up with blacks whining and complaining.

  6. Government incompetence... is becoming increasing apparent to all.

  7. I have to wonder how Bathhouse Barry and his merry gang of idiots are taking THIS! After all the pressure they put on their lackey judge to make sure Zimmerman was toasted... IT DIDN'T WORK!

Somewhere in Florida (and we all know where,) there's a judge that's been demoted to the circular filing system and prosecutors that will be hanging off the tail end of garbage trucks for the rest of their days.

    BWAHAHAHAHA... HA!

  8. At least one person at the NAACP gets it.

  9. FreeThinke, I think your logic has gone off the rails a bit. "White privilege" is really white productivity, the absence of social dysfunction, delayed gratification, taking responsibility and being accountable for one's own life.

Black dysfunction drives white prejudice, not the other way around.

  10. Oswald Chambers on defending oneself against attack from the SPIRITUAL perspective:

I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also —Matthew 5:39

This verse reveals the humiliation of being a Christian. In the natural realm, if a person does not hit back, it is because he is a coward. But in the spiritual realm, it is the very evidence of the Son of God in him if he does not hit back. When you are insulted, you must not only not resent it, but you must make it an opportunity to exhibit the Son of God in your life. And you cannot imitate the nature of Jesus— it is either in you or it is not. A personal insult becomes an opportunity for a saint to reveal the incredible sweetness of the Lord Jesus.

The teaching of the Sermon on the Mount is not, “Do your duty,” but is, in effect, “Do what is not your duty.” It is not your duty to go the second mile, or to turn the other cheek, but Jesus said that if we are His disciples, we will always do these things. We will not say, “Oh well, I just can’t do any more, and I’ve been so misrepresented and misunderstood.” Every time I insist on having my own rights, I hurt the Son of God, while in fact I can prevent Jesus from being hurt if I will take the blow myself. That is the real meaning of filling “up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ . . .” (Colossians 1:24). A disciple realizes that it is his Lord’s honor that is at stake in his life, not his own honor.

Never look for righteousness in the other person, but never cease to be righteous yourself. We are always looking for justice, yet the essence of the teaching of the Sermon on the Mount is— Never look for justice, but never cease to give it under every cnceivable set of circumstances.

  11. I was truly surprised that the jury found him not guilty, but I am very pleased. I figured they would charge him with something.

This is a good thing. The race-baiters like Sharpton will keep harping for a while, but this should be the end of it.

Now we are hearing about a civil case. It will never end.

  12. And here’s the amusing thing: following the OJ verdict where the jury simply nullified the facts before it — and the black and Leftist population said “screw you, we WON” — now that Zimmerman has been found NG like Simpson, NOW the black population is OUTRAGED and people are calling for the DOJ to step it because of this horrible abomination.

To those people I say: ho hum. Get used to it. That’s how it goes. And that’s how WE were expected to react — we as in NON blacks.

  13. "FreeThinke, I think your logic has gone off the rails a bit. "White privilege" is really white productivity, the absence of social dysfunction, delayed gratification, taking responsibility and being accountable for one's own life."

If it were "my" logic, you would be perfectly correct, Stogie, but I was describing the ENEMEDIA'S point of view and that of leftists in general.

What I tried to do was outline the artificial paradigm that has been foisted on us by the triune power of the media, the congress and the courts.

Those entities have joined and effectively become a Three-Headed Monster that formulates Public Policy by either vilifying or thwarting the free expression of any meaningful opposition to the Leftist-Collectivist-Redistributionist Agenda.

BECAUSE of the ubiquitous influence of this Power Bloc White America -- and all of White Christendom -- now tends to see itself in the suicidally pejorative light described.

Success of failure is often largely dependent in Self-Image. The Self-Image of White Americans and Europeans has been maimed. You and I may be part of a very small, and steadily diminishing number of exceptions, Stogie.

  14. "Please think logically, not racially." If only that were to happen. But you have too many people benefiting from making this a racial incident when it is not.

And that's another tragic consequence of this farce. Not only will racial tensions be heightened but instead of focusing the black communities attention on the problems that beset most blacks directly (poor schools, high unemployment, violence) they are once again sent to chase the bogeyman.

When Attorney General Eric Holder first got into office he created quite a stir by saying we needed to have an honest conversation about race. But ever since then, Holder, Obama, Sharpton and the rest have done everything they can to avoid doing just that. This circus is just the latest in what I fear will be a continuing trend.

    ReplyDelete
  15. An honest conversation on race doesn't fit the liberal press narrative of pervasive racism in the South, nor does it fit the "blame whitey" black identity meme. And THAT. is why there will NEVER be an honest conversation on the subject of race. Both institutions are heavily invested in their meme's narratives for their very existence. Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Louis Farrakhan and MSNBC would ALL. be out of work without "whitey" to blame for the social ills of their communities.

  16. So the NAACP does indeed eat their young, er, leaders, that step out of line. What a surprise.

The prosecution did NOT prove their case. The system worked.

  17. On Thursday, July 11, police discovered the rotting body of 17-year-old Darryl Green, a black child from the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago. Green’s body was found behind a boarded-up house in the 6500-block of South Damen, face down on basement stairs. The body was so badly decomposed that originally, local news reports suggested that he had died of blunt force trauma. On Friday, an autopsy showed he had been shot to death. Relatives reported that Green had refused to join a gang at school.

Nope, doesn't fit the "blame whitey" narrative.... "nothing to see here... these are NOT the stories that the media are looking for.... move along."

  18. Freedom By The Way has posted this detail, one that I missed:

“It was a tragedy. But not every tragedy is a crime”

Who said that? Geraldo Rivera! I had not idea that Geraldo could say something so profound!

  19. Anonymous above makes an interesting point because he's been attacked and in fear of his life:

When a person is defending himself, anything goes!

Anonymous is exactly right that a person should do whatever he can to prevent his own life from being taken from him.

  20. Originally, the verse in Matthew advised "turn the other cheek ... Then, shoot the bastard."

The council at Nicea took out the best part.

  21. This case should have never gone to trial. This was purely political and race based. The prosecution's case had one foot in the grave from the beginning. The jury got it right. It took courage to give a verdict based on the facts and evidence under such pressure.

  22. If George Zimmerman were Black would he have had the last year and a half of his life turned upside down and inside out on national television?
Lets face the truth, no one would know who George Zimmerman was and he could have had his life back instead of the mess he and the country is in now. So what does that tell us” It tells us that in spite of the fact that a jury has found him "NOT GUILTY" he is to put it plainly, fucked! He will have to grow his hair and beard, change his name and move someplace like Montana or Alaska, or perhaps even out of the USA to avoid the backlash and the possibility of the Black Panthers or some other NUT-Job gtoup shooting him in his back. .
Yeah, he stood his ground and look what it has got him. His life is in shambles. Was playing neighborhood watch hero worth all this aggravation, and perhaps his life? . Yeah, the gun saved his life perhaps, but the gun put him in danger to start with. Where did his neighborhood watch duties get him. Where did his protecting his neighbors get him?. Now some people INCLUDING President Obama will argue that it was his 2nd amendment right and Gun Control and all that bullshit. But did the President say one word about Al Sharpton or the Black Panthers ganging up and causing all this trouble? Some people are stupid morons. His life is fucked! He was in the right. And so was the Jury for finding him “NOT GUILTY” I watched the trial from Start to Finnish and I saw it the same way as the Jury did. So what?
Where were all the riots and protesting when OJ Simpson was let off to be free when it was as clear as day that he KILLED 2 people. Were was Al Sharpton and the Black Panthers then? Did our Federal Government PAY to have MOBS out side on our streets protesting then? Did our President give his (wink-wink) bullshit speech then? Did Ron Goldman look like President Clinton’s Son then or did Nicole Brown Simpson look like Clinton’s Daughter?
Would I shoot someone in my back yard if I thought they were going to cause trouble? Maybe, or maybe not. In the meantime I would call 911 and let them know there was going to be a shooting to investigate if they don't hurry. But that was me, and that wasn’t him. What he did when he was getting his head smashed into a concrete slab was JUSTIFIED... period. I would not go outside and confront my trespasser , unless I was really pissed. (More than Likely) If I did I would already have the gun pointed at him. No rolling around on the ground!
This has been an enormous waste of everyone's time. Just something else to bitch and moan about. Something else to be angry about. I don't care! Good luck George! I look forward to reading your book or your made for TV Movie if you live that long. Did you put your holster back on after you were acquitted. You need your gun now worse than ever! And by the way, I also thought that you were justified and that you should have been found NOT GUILTY, but then again I am not a Black bleeding heart Liberal..

  25. MCT asked, “Would I shoot someone in my backyard if I thought they were going to cause trouble? Maybe, or maybe not.” In most states, shooting someone who was in your backyard would send you directly to jail. Self-defense means that you believe you are in danger of significant bodily harm, and you must be able to demonstrate that fear in a court of law. A lesser standard is insufficient for justifiable homicide.

MCT also wrote, “Yeah, he stood his ground and look what it got him.” Had Zimmerman not shot Martin, Zimmerman could be sitting in a wheel chair today, drooling out of the corner of his mouth; hardly an enviable alternative. It is true that Zimmerman’s life is forever altered … in the same way that the family members of murder victim’s lives are forever altered. That’s the society we live in today, but allowing someone to bash your head into a permanent brain-damaged existence is NOT a common sense substitute.

MCT wrote, “Where did his neighborhood watch duties get him?” Yes, it’s true … we should all run away like the sissies we’ve become, hide under our beds in fear, and allow thugs to take over our neighborhoods. Good plan.

  27. Lets talk a bit about “RACISM” is the term 'Cracker' Is A Racial Slur? My answer is No more and no less than the word “Nigger” is!
And another thought, people are always talking about “IF” this and “IF” that “IF” Zimmerman didn’t follow him and “IF” Zimmerman didn’t get out of his car. Well how about “IF” Zimmerman didn’t have a gun that night... it's pretty clear that Trayvon would have been found guilty of assault, and possibly murder by beating the ctap out of Zimmerman! How’s those apples? .
