Jihad In Paris (Timeline Added)

The unfolding of a new model for jihad: striking multiple and proximate soft targets simultaneously.

Islamic terrorism in the City of Lights.

Multiple sites attacked.

Hostages held and being murdered one by one in Bataclan, the concert hall.

National borders closed.

France in a state of national emergency.

Fox News is reporting that a suspect arrested has told the police, "I am from ISIS." He has also said that he is from Syria and is on a mission for ISIS. This is the only arrest so far reported.

More coverage at France 24 and BBC News.

      BUT

The name of the band is prophetic.

BTW, the band is an American band from California. No word yet as to the fate of any of the band members.

    10. "Nobody deserves this –– nobody."

Try to look at it tis way, Z. If those 100 mostly young people hadn't been avid, devoted fans of Cultural Pollution and Societal Degeneration, –– which is EXACTLY what that kind of "music" IS ––, they would still be alive.

It is the NIHILISM and pervasive MOB PSYCHOLOGY engendered and fostered largely by the wretched vulgar excesses of ROCK 'n ROLL and it's ever more hideous derivatives that have overtaken the West, and have paved the way, rolled out the red carpet and opened to door to the kind of barbaric aggression and horror that is overtaking us as we pound our little keyboards.

Satan works in unbelievably subtle, crafty ways. He's often called the Great Deceiver, but more than that he is also the Great SEDUCER. He has an uncanny knack for making utter vileness appear ATTRACTIVE and DESIRABLE to young, unformed minds –– and to the perennially adolescent.

    11. FT,

We're never going to achieve honest dialogue as long as you're resistant to admitting you're a doddering imbecile.

The concert was attacked because it was populated, regardless of why it was populated. A closed forum, controllable exits, a death trap.

That the place is often used as a meeting venue for Jewish organizations could play into why it was chosen, but no matter. It was chosen because it it could be made an inescapable death trap. Period. Music had nothing to do with it.

      Delete
    12. Beamish,
FT isn't an imbecile. I don't agree with his comment referring to the attack as something those concert goers deserved and so stated.

I do agree with your statement as to the kind of music not being the reason Bataclan was attacked. In fact, the common factor among the Paris sites attacked is that all we packed houses and, likely, easy to scout out in advance -- as well as being in proximate locations.

    Their territory is shrinking.

In Europe you are likely to see the brownshirts coming to power. Doesn't seem possible with the enormity of this attack that they can lose.
If France, Britain, America and Russia (maybe more cooperative after the aircraft downing) can cooperate it could cripple ISIS but there is going to be a cost. The vigilantes will be out.

It should work to the fringe right's advantage in the US. Anyone who isn't barking for deportation and a wall is in trouble (tough crap Rubio).

    2. But Ducky, can you see how marginalizing anyone who doesn't cowtow to the one-world EU project has stoked "fringe right?" There is no sensible middle ground.

Current ruling parties have almost killed Europe, time for some people made of sterner stuff to take over. The Eastern Europeans have it right: build the fences and refuse to be taken over by people who hate you, who hate your culture, and who will never assimilate.

It's a rough world out there. We can always build more refuge camps in the ME. I have little sympathy for military-aged young men escaping a collapsing culture their families' bigotry and bloodlust helped destroy.

I say turn those men around and tell them to hitch up their britches and fix their societies or die trying. How else will anything change over there?

  11. Following the Charlie Hebdo massacre earlier this year world leaders, with the exception of Obama, lead a march of millions in Paris. But then, nothing happened. Now, it's impossible to believe that France will not respond. Perhaps in a joint action with other nations like Russia who have also been targeted.

Meanwhile, Obama continues to do nothing but talk. I'm surprised he didn't blame a You Tube video. Failure to pay attention to Iraq when ISIS was just getting started, then pinprick bombing and failure to arm the Kurds. It seems he is engaged in a strategy that is DESIGNED TO FAIL!

My heart goes out to the French in the midst of this horror and the grief that follows. We should stand with them in FACT as well as deeds. The world can't wait for leadership to address this threat. If there is a danger of "Brownshirts" as Ducky suggests, it will be because idiots like Obama have been so blind to the danger.

Ducky, we'd better find what's sufficient cause because we're hearing this more and more...here, too....Charlie Hebdo's killers were taken in and released before killing 20.

Probably the only realistic way to help ourselves is, the minute we suspect them of jihadi activity, they're OUT. For good. Suspicion is enough. Period. "Ah, gee, that's cruel, Z!" This is a paste!
It is however my original thought.

    What CAN we do?

We can stop outsourcing our security.
    No more gun free zones.
    Want to be secure?
Buy a gun, learn to use it, and encourage the one next to you to do the same.
It's not 100%, but what in life is?

Don't like guns, or are afraid to use one?
Don't stop me from protecting me or you because of your fear of me having a gun when you fear the terrorist having one.
The Nuke the Middle East solution leaves operatives in the west.
Increasing State Security services limits our freedoms and protections (France is confiscating guns).
The solution is to stop outsourcing our security. Gun up. Be situationally aware. Your odds of surviving are greater. And their odds of surviving are lower.

Our political leaders and even businesses, including institutions of learning, flung open the doors.

Fascism would confiscate or restrict (workplace, gun free zones) my right to self defence (and it is a right) saying that THEY would handle the problem.

  21. FreeThinke:

    You posted this thought:

"Anyone who would willingly attend a "concert" by a band calling itself Eagles of Death Metal deserves whatever evil may come his way."

Let me note that I am grateful that you populate this blog. You teach me a few things along the way, and I enjoy your prose. But I choose to respectfully disagree with you.

I was at the Garland, Texas event on May 3rd and had to bear up under the barrage of nasty comments from one man at work who told me "You deserve it. You shouldn't have been there." He knew I was one of dozens of members of the press corps who had been invited to this private reception. Still, he mocked my freedom.

Did the individuals seated at the restaurants last night have the right to buy a meal? What about the individuals who wanted to attend a sports venue with their families? Vibrant commerce is a sign of societal health. The Death Eagles venue was a tributary of a larger financial stream in Paris.

Charlie Hebdo came for the common man last night. Seventy Americans are still missing. It is likely their bodies have being removed from the theater. The families will be notified but most likely they already know the outcome.

Islamic fanaticism must be brutally crushed and actively resisted.

    * The French, because they were unarmed, sang the National Anthem. Raising a voice to give courage does not rise to the demands of the moment. Yes, firearms cannot be brought into a stadium. But in Texas, outside of a stadium, would stand ordinary citizens ready to hastily scramble a militia to render aid. We are a state which believes strongly in Constitutional right.

My thoughts and prayers are with the American families and members of our embassy staff in Paris as they prepare the notifications.

    1. I understand the sentiment, my friend, but I am dead-set against the detention, internment, disempowerment and deportation of law-abiding citizens.

    2. Then you embrace SUICIDE and the EXTERMINATION of any possibility of a good life for your children, Silver. I am deeply sorry you fail to see the practical wisdom in DIDADIN.

I never have been, and never will be a "Death is Better than Dishonor" type, myself.

Islam is a CANCER in the corpus mundi. As such it must be subjected to radical surgery, lethal poison, high doses of deadly radiation, until it ceases to exist.

  41. Two weeks ago Russians died in a terror attack. Now Parisians, Americans and a few others died in a terror attack. Who's next on the list? Germans? Spaniards? Americans?

Minus hyphenated designators, the terrorists share one common creed. Islam.

  42. Duck,
    Fix Syria!

As if any Western power has ever fixed anything in the Middle East!

    Pfffft.

  43. Is this true?

While the taxpayer funded American Embassy in Paris refused entry/shelter six months pregnant American tourist fleeing terror in Paris ....Every Sikh Temple in Paris opened its doors to anyone seeking shelter during the attack.

  44. Yes, but to date, no Kurd, Jordanian or Egyptian military units have defected. These are not Obama's "good terrorists," "Free Syrians" or whatever... These are proven, trusted allies.

Somebody's gotta do the fighting, and they are doing it. They could do more if we would arm the sufficiently.

  45. To be clear, I'm wondering if the Sunni allies are less willing to do "our" work because of that Iran deal.

    ReplyDelete
  46. AOW,
Short answer: No. Those people live in a world of realpolitik. The Egyptians and Jordanians actively cooperate with Israel because their survival depends on it.

Much has been made of Kurdish-Turkish hatred. Do you know who the prosperous Iraqi Kurdistan's largest trading partner is? Turkey.

They make deals to stay alive over there, and the Kurds gave up active support of PKK to achieve economic stability and cooperation with Turkey.

They are are not going to refuse to fight because Uncle Sam made them mad. Their lives are at stake.

  47. SF,
[The Kurds] are are not going to refuse to fight because Uncle Sam made them mad

That's my take on the Kurds as well.

You know what? I think that what you've mentioned in our discussion of Sunni allies isn't going to happen anyway. Obama is too interested in kicking the can down the road and getting out of office without becoming involved in another war in the Middle East. He's guarding what he perceives as his legacy.

Why didn't they just tweet out #BombISIS?

    1. Certainly satisfying but I assume it was expected.

If this was centrally planned by ISIL(seems certain) then they must have expected retaliation.

France needs to be ready for a response.

    2. Ya, the typical liberal response..."Let's not strike back because they might get mad!" Retreat! Retreat! ISIS is after us...don't hurt THEM!!!
      Ducky, listen to yourself. Gad.

    3. As you know, I'm one of the few who doesn't think all muslims want us dead, and every time ISIS hurts THEM, or we hurt them because of ISIS, I get hopeful that more and more will come forward and reveal any jihadist activity they know about, or just plain attack ISIS themselves... I'm tired of OUR being the courageous...it's time to see Muslims take their own in their hands.

    5. Hey, sweetie, when did I say there shouldn't be a bombing run?

There have been air strikes for some time and ISIS has lost considerable territory recently.

I'm surprised you don't know that. Must not be reporting on the war on Faux Snooze.

."Let's not strike back because they might get mad!"

That's the way the comment sounded to me, too.

It seems to me that the West has been doing that for a long time: "Don't offend Muslims," which has an underlying implication of "If we lay low, maybe they won't hurt us." NOT WORKING!

I'm one of the few who doesn't think all muslims want us dead

I don't believe that all are after us.

That said, we have this problem:

Paris attack suspect described as ‘friendly, polite neighbour’.

  50. The White House occupant refuses to even identify Islamic terrorism choosing to call it anything but. Second he plays an appeasement game using as little military power as possible with little or no airstrikes and many of the sorties coming back with their full armament still on board. He has no intention of doing anything against the ISIS threat and by his disgusting deal is assisting Iran with a nuclear weapon while allowing the full collapse of the Middle East surrendering it to Putin who is partnering with Iran for a Middle East take over using it as the reconstituting of the Soviet Union. ISIS exists because of his weakness and now he wants to flood the US with refugees who will be nothing more than a free access for ISIS to enter the US. In answer to your last sentence in this excellent post, with Obama at the helm we will wait until the death toll mounts and what happened in France takes place in DC, NYC, Chicago or LA and then he'll claim it was not ISIS because he has ISIS contained according to him and Americans will die!

  51. AOW,

    FT isn't an imbecile.

Thou shalt not bear false witness.

Upon taking the opportunity to respond to his detractors, FT doubled down on blaming the concert goers and their choice of entertainment for their deaths.

If FT does not fully qualify for the textbook definition of imbecilic, nobody does.

    1. Beamish,
As I re-read FT's comments, I think that he lays the blame on the type of music -- blame in that FT believes that type of music is culturally corrupt and, by extension, corrupts the listeners.

Do I agree with FT's music philosophy? Not fully.

My tastes in music are quite eclectic as you, as my long time cyber buddy, must know.

Do I believe that the concert goers and the type of music concert they attended were responsible for their deaths? Absolutely not! Although, I must say, that ISIS has deemed music, alcohol, and possibly even soccer as halal. As I understand the types of sites attacks, they involved those factors (but not as the primary motive).

    2. Well, I don't keep stats, but I've read enough of FT's repertoire to reasonably assume it is still not as frequently occurring as scent-free dog excrement that FT will post something that isn't stupid. I don't have anything personal against the guy even though it is laughably doubtful that he means well.

We can all just sigh in relief that FT merely shares ISIS' hatred of rock music and joy at the destruction of concert goers, but likely won't go out and shoot them himself.

  52. Effective bombing runs are a start.

But ISIS is a multi-headed beast with both heads and tentacles among most Western nations.

It won't be long before each of us personally knows someone killed or maimed by Islamic terrorists.

  53. I agree with AOW. Primary concern? Importation of threat. Baton Rouge just received their first allotment.
