Today, Mr. AOW and I are celebrating 42 years of marriage.
And, yes, we are still each other's best friend.
Update below the fold:
We took MetroAccess Paratransit to the National Gallery of Art and visited these exhibits:
1. Degas/Cassatt
2. Andrew Wyeth: Looking Out, Looking In
3. Masterpieces of American Furniture from the Kaufman Collection, 1700–1830
We ate lunch at the Cascade Café.
When we got home, I checked the mail. Surprise! A check from Mr. AOW's aunt, from whom we rarely hear because she is so elderly. She enclosed a note: "Just wanted to honor your marriage with a check. Enjoy!"
All in all, a wonderful day.
Congrats to both of you! A toast to many more!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulation to you guys, well done!
ReplyDelete__ CONGRATULATIONS, Mr. and Mrs. AOW! __
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary, my good neighbors,
A couple with a conscience and a heart.
Put down your burdens; cease all heavy labors;
Put up your feet. The party soon will start.
You’ve earned a break, a restful change of pace.
Before you pleasing prospects should expand.
It’s time to smell the flowers, leave the race,
Relax, enjoy the wonders close at hand.
Try an unashamed pursuit of pleasure.
Hope you’ll get what you have long deserved ––
Delight and deep contentment beyond measure
After all the years you both have served.
You mustn’t feel you need to act your age.
TO YOUR MARRIAGE now, we dedicate this page.

ReplyDeleteZ,
DeleteIndeed. Mr. AOW and I always have a lot to talk about. Friends talk a lot with each other, you know.
Best wishes, Mr. and Mrs. AOW.
ReplyDeleteHope you were up to a little carousing.
Carousing? Not exactly.. See the update that I just posted to the body of the blog post.
DeleteDegas/Cassatt, think I'd enjoy that myself.
DeleteHope you had a good time.
I prefer Cassatt's work to that of the work of Degas -- mostly, anyway.
DeleteThe exhibit was wonderful. I purchased the audio tour, and that audio enhanced the exhibit.
Congratulations to both of you!
ReplyDeleteThank you to the poet(s) laureate!
ReplyDeleteDon't tempt the poet(s) laureate

ReplyDeleteI know you and Mr. AOW have really been through some tough times, health-wise especially. Came through it stronger than ever it seems. I'm so happy for both of you. Marriage isn't always easy.
