Our Fatal Folly

By Sam Huntington

In spite of infrequent episodes of discrimination toward Catholics and Jews, at various times and places —we do not live in a perfect world— there has never been an official requirement that anyone recant their religious beliefs as a condition of serving the American people.

However, there has been an underlying expectation that individuals appointed to positions of public trust freely and honestly give their oath of allegiance to the Constitution; there was an expectation that servants of the people would be culturally American.

Apparently, this is no longer true, for today there are people in government that are getting a rather large share of our pie, who openly subscribe to Marxist ideology, who give their oath without the slightest intention of keeping it, and who, rather than defending us from the enemy, have become the enemy of a free people. Our Republic has never been in greater danger and the people remain asleep.

The danger goes far beyond Marxism, which we believe includes the entire White House and half of the United States Congress. As a case in point, John Brennan is more Moslem than he is American. We have somehow managed to appoint a traitor to lead the Central Intelligence Agency.

It is not so much that he’s found his peace in the embrace of a religion of pieces; it is rather that as a Moslem, his oath means nothing. There is no differentiation between his secular and religious duty—as outlined in specific detail within the Qur’an. This is our quandary: either the man is true to his religious beliefs, or he is apostate. He can be a good Moslem, or a loyal American. There is no room in Islam for both. While it is true that every citizen has the right to practice his or her own religion, or none at all, there is no obligation to appoint an enemy agent to our most sensitive government positions.

It is has been said that those whom the gods wish to destroy, they first make mad. We must be utterly mad.

Does anyone actually think that Al-Qaeda is worried about the CIA under the helmsmanship of John Brennan? We do not believe they are worried in the least. The reason for this is that devil doesn’t exist in the mind of John Brennan. It is something Brennan shares in common with every atheist we’ve ever met. And it is clear that Brennan’s thinking is aligned perfectly with official Obama policy: Al-Qaeda is no longer a threat.

Of course, if this isn’t a pipe dream, it is an out-and-out lie told to the American people ad nauseam. It is difficult to keep from laughing aloud whenever an Obama acolyte makes such a claim, and then offers that Al Qaeda is no more than a challenge to local law enforcement.

The alternative narrative —scripted by none other than Disney studios, is that with the possible exception of Al Qaeda, we can moderate all of Islam vis-à-vis sympathetic US policy —presumably one shepherded by that foreign policy authority, John Fauxbrain Kerry. And besides, the best strategy for handling Islamism is to turn the entire problem over to other extremists, such as the Moslem Brotherhood. And yes, let us give them F-16s so that they can confront Al-Qaeda directly.

Or Israel. Whatever.

This illogical thinking holds that if we embrace the enemy, they are no longer the enemy. If we empower the enemy, they become our friend. And while the United States government pursues this folly, to the utter amazement of even Al-Qaeda, the loud guffaws of Gordon Pasha reverberate in the background.

Keep in mind that these new leaders are the same people who embrace a wholly discredited ideology: Marxism. How is it possible to instruct such people as this? By all means, let us invite Hassan-e Sabbah over for a cup of tea; let us willingly hire his agents to serve us. All the while, the real tragedy of Islam continues to mount: the numbers of Moslem victims of Islam. This administration has become an accessory to human misery. In fairness, it isn’t just the Obama administration. There is no evidence of any idea how to deal with the Moslem since the days of the Jefferson presidency.

In the mind of Obama, Brennan, and a host of other incompetents, including that mental midget Nostradumbass, fundamental extremism, anti-Americanism, anti-Semitism, anti-Christianity, and anti-female Islamism only exists in the minds of the far right wing. Among these so-called policy geniuses, there is a complete disconnect as to the serious consequences of empowering extremists —people that we can plainly see use hatred to construct an agenda that will not bode well for future Americans. It seems that no one has bothered to consider the likely consequences when extremists control education in their respective countries. Tell us, reader … will young Arabs be more, or less extreme in another twenty years?

But of course future Islamists will be able to sit back, display a sneering smile, and say quite honestly, “We did not do these things to you. You did them to yourselves.”

  1. Arabs will always be extreme, whether they are rich or poor, whether they are educated or not. I am also unable to trust them, whether they appear to be traditionalist or modern, whether they are hospitable or not. They would always tried to imply that we are mad for not supporting their devious, insane, evil islamic agenda. It is best one keep a safe distance from them.

  2. WLIL,
Glad to see you commenting here again!

I was concerned that word verification would prevent you from doing so. I had to install word verification because of the tsunami of spam plaguing the blogsophere the past several weeks.

  3. Each nominee is more radical than the former. Now we have Perez, nominee for secretary of labor. Sharia loving white hater. What could go wrong. Meanwhile the illegally ruled by cout labor board continues.

Actually, I was unable to access your website for quite a while and I was like losing hope, as each time, I tried connecting to your site, the screen just go blank.
Anyway, I managed to access your website today and it is nice to hear from you again, too.

  7. Absolutely correct, fine article. The muslim culture, if followed and not rejected for the American culture, is contrary to what this nation stands for. We now have the government giving special privileges to Muslims and their culture to the detriment of our own. It must stop.

  8. As someone with a lot of friends who are Muslim, Arab, or both, I disagree with a lot of the generalizing from Sam.

However, much of the criticism of Marxist tendenncies and the naked avarice of ObamaCo is "spot-on".

  9. The issue may be Sam's concern about the nature of appointments, e.g. "reposing special trust and confidence". I don't see how most Americans can have confidence in Brennan ... Or Perez either, for that matter. I see a trend and it's problematic.

  10. "includes the entire White House and half of the United States Congress."

HALF? You think only HALF? I believe I can pretty safely assume that one of those halves is the democraps and the other, the repugnicans. Excuse me Sam, but it took the help of the so-called conservatives to put Brennan into the job.

    More than half, Sam.

  11. Given the prevailing characteristics of stealth and volatility, within the "Muslim"-"Arab" culture, how does one determine which, if any, are actually "friends"?

  13. Another facet of the SUICIDE PACT we've made with ourselves thanks to the twisted, literalistic interpretation of our Constitution by the Marxian-Fabian-Socialist-Progressive-Liberal contingent.

All the result of machinations by The Oligarchs who have managed wonderfully to pit us all against each other to THEIR great advantage.

Horror of horrors! We're under a spell.
Since hope now is gone, please direct us to hell.

  14. I agree with the sentiments of Black Sheep. It must be more than half, if only from the standpoint that these "servants of the people" first serve themselves. We cannot know whether Brennan has a covert agenda, but he is an Obama appointee and there can be no question of where Obama is taking us. And he was up front with it. And still reelected.

Yes, Sam ... we are mad as hatters.

  15. Can any of you describe what the sharia take over will look like?

What happens first, stoning or the hijab? I'm quite curious.

I suspect all this turmoil is just pimping for Likud but maybe you really think Islamists can take over where the evangelicals have failed so spectacularly.

Could you flesh out a few details?

  16. Ripper: Mandrake?
    Mandrake: Yes, Jack?
Ripper: Have you ever seen a Commie drink a glass of water?
Mandrake: Well, I can't say I have, Jack.
Ripper: Vodka, that's what they drink, isn't it? Never water?
Mandrake: Well, I-I believe that's what they drink, Jack, yes.
Ripper: On no account will a Commie ever drink water, and not without good reason.
Mandrake: Oh, eh, yes. I, uhm, can't quite see what you're getting at, Jack.
Ripper: Water, that's what I'm getting at, water. Mandrake, water is the source of all life. Seven-tenths of this Earth's surface is water. Why, do you realize that 70 percent of you is water?
    Mandrake: Good Lord!
Ripper: And as human beings, you and I need fresh, pure water to replenish our precious bodily fluids.
Mandrake: Yes. (he begins to chuckle nervously)
Ripper: Are you beginning to understand?
    Mandrake: Yes. (more laughter)
Ripper: Mandrake. Mandrake, have you never wondered why I drink only distilled water, or rainwater, and only pure-grain alcohol?
Mandrake: Well, it did occur to me, Jack, yes.
Ripper: Have you ever heard of a thing called fluoridation. Fluoridation of water?
Mandrake: Uh? Yes, I-I have heard of that, Jack, yes. Yes.
Ripper: Well, do you know what it is?
Mandrake: No, no I don't know what it is, no.
Ripper: Do you realize that fluoridation is the most monstrously conceived and dangerous Communist plot we have ever had to face?

  17. I find no overt information to indicate John Brennan is a Muslim, as I find no information to indicate that Barack Hussein Obama is a Muslim.

That is to say: "GOOD" Muslims. As in, those who pray 5 times daily towards Mecca, who heed the call to prayers.

They may be some kind of "stealth" Muslim in terms of their goals and/or sympathies, but they would not pass muster.

Unless, of course, one were to widely consider Taqqiyah.

That's precisely because it doesn't exist. The state of opposition isn't enough for many these days...it has to rise to demonization, no matter the truth of it.

  19. However, @ Ducky:

Just as Dr Strangelove was in fact a BUCKETLOAD of cinematic fun, the fun did not quite so wonderfully translate when it was discovered that, after VENONA files were opened, decoded GRU and KGB traffic revealed that -- shock of shocks -- Joseph McCarthy was correct.

This following the fall of the USSR.

    1. None of those named in the Venona files were ever questioned by McCarthy. He was on an ineffective witch hunt and is illustrative of the fringe right even today.

    2. How did you know Brennan and Obama are Shia?

  22. But I think the question of whether or not he is actually a Muslim or just an Islamophile is just as unimportant as his hippy days learning to love Islam. And by the same token, I think that it is unimportant if Obama is or isn't a Muslim. I don't care whom they pray to.

The question is whether their world view, and their policies would be any different if they were Muslims. And I think the answer to that is no. And since it is their policies, not their beliefs that matter to the world, they should be judged for that. -Caroline Glick

A good point, and yet Carline Glick seems to have erected a wall between the Obama global socialist world view, and those of everyone who serve him, and the issue of taking a loyalty oath and living up to it. Do we trust people who take an oath without the intent of living up to it? I say "no".

  23. @BZ -- 2. Never drew the distinction between Shiiah and Sunni.

    You mentioned Taqqiyah.

Surely you know the idea is absent from Sunni Islam or are you just blowing smoke?

  26. Can a Muslim be a nice person? Sure.

Indeed, many Arabs are quite charismatic.

But what is Islam -- and its goals and worldview?

The very same people who decry American hegemony and American exceptionalism also fail to decry Islamic supremacism and yearning for the caliphate. From the latter link:

"The goal of reuniting Muslims under a single flag stands at the heart of the radical Islamic ideology Bush has warned of repeatedly in recent major speeches on terrorism. In language evoking the Cold War, Bush has cast the conflict in Iraq as the pivotal battleground in a larger contest between advocates of freedom and those who seek to establish "a totalitarian Islamic empire reaching from Spain to Indonesia."

    [...]

"Yet the caliphate is also esteemed by many ordinary Muslims. For most, its revival is not an urgent concern. Public opinion polls show immediate issues such as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and discrimination rank as more pressing. But Muslims regard themselves as members of the umma, or community of believers, that forms the heart of Islam. And as earthly head of that community, the caliph is cherished both as memory and ideal, interviews indicate."

The source of those quotations is the Washington Post, BTW.

  27. Duck,
    About taqiyyah:

    ONE

    TWO (source used because convenience):

The term taqiyya does not exist in Sunni jurisprudence. In the Sunni view, denying your faith under duress is "only at most permitted and not under all circumstances obligatory". However, there are examples of practicing taqiyya among Sunnis where it was necessary.

That information does have a footnote as verification.

  29. I can see it getting to the point in this country where "we the People" 50 some percent of us anyway, will have to handle this problem ourselves, especially when we have the nest of vipers we currently have.

Why the American people are'nt totally pissed off about whats going on is a testament to the utter decline of this country.
That decline has been put into overdrive with Obamugabe as leader.

  30. have you seen the list of muslims in high places in the White House now? I'm not at home so I don't have the list, but there are at least 8 Arab men who have been appointed to places promising our protection.
We are a very sad lot, very stupid and naive. I think Americans have always thought "We'll Always be America...don't worry!!

    rubbish.
Remember the chldren of the McCarthy era?...the children of directors and producers freed after questioning have admitted their parents were Communists.
Here's something interesting: I read that information (interviews and quotes from about 8 of the children now in their late middle ages) in the LA Times perhaps 30 years ago. I have looked since then for that article and it is NOWHERE.
