And not ONE word about this on any of the so called Gay Rights Mattet liberal boards!

Moderate islam must speak out against the killing of gays. So far, we wait. I know many wouldn't approve! I'm hoping a movement starts against the hardliners......here and around the world.

Still waiting for the hordes of moderates to take back their hijacked religion. Their silence condemns Islam as a whole -- like it or not.

You know my belief about this matter and as to why the moderates are not asserting themselves in a strong enough way.

While I agree with you when you say of Muslims writ large "Their silence condemns Islam as a whole -- like it or not.........I don't see any nefarious conspiracy on the part of the gay civil liberties movement in this country. I see it as similar to my intellectual passion on the civil liberty of RKBA, but I don't spend any amount of time editorializing about gun rights in other nations [beyond our left's attempts to compare/contrast]

Not a conspiracy of the part of the gay movement, but rather a multicultural blindness or a search for Islamic unicorns.

To be clear, my use of Their referred to the antecedent hordes of moderates.

The screeching of the hardliners will lead to victory for the hardliners.

      It's an ugly situation.

CI's dry, legalistic thinking too easily makes false equivalencies. Human Rights must be a matter of universal concern. Individual customs, mores and policies that don't exemplify governmental abuse of the inalienable rights of world citizens to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are not the business of outsiders.

I was responding to the specific charge in the first post; if you broaden the aperture to include the entirety of the left and the entirety of Islam, there's merit in what you say.

    11. CI,
Okay, we can broaden the aperture.

The doctrines in the Quran and the Hadith are problematic in and of themselves.

"The doctrines in the Quran and the Hadith are problematic in and of themselves."

Yes, but so is the barbarity found in the OT, especially Leviticus and Deuteronomy. From that the secular humanists can and have built a damning case against Judaism and it offspring Fundamentalist or Evangelical Christianity.

    13. Consommé Madrilene,
      Um, not exactly.

The most violent verses of the Quran are the most recent verses -- in essence, marching orders to wage violent jihad. Those later verses abrogate the earlier, peaceful verses.

The violence in the Old Testament had has its purpose for the subjugation of the vile and barbaric Canaanites. The Old Testament laws were specifically designed to set the Hebrews apart from the Canaanites.

Now, look at the teachings of the New Testament. Those teachings are the opposite of violent jihad. "Love thy neighbor as thyself" and not kill all infidels (as we find in the Medinan verses of the Quran. Those Medinan verses are, in essence, Islam's New Testament.

    14. And who today is following all those laws of Leviticus and Deuteronomy.

For example, who is doing stonings in the 21st Century? Not Christians, not Jews!

There are ugly things in the history of Christianity and Judaism. Very ugly things. But what is going on now?

  4. The Demagogue in Chief stooped to a new low when he sneeringly said the GOP was making common cause with Iranian hardliners in a speech, which was supposed to be a serious event, but was interrupted by snickers from the Obama-Toadies in the crowd.

The Iranians know how to bargain, Barry and Heinz-Kerry couldn't persuade ants to go to a picnic. Does anyone really believe the "Hardliners" didn't want this deal, all that cash, new outlets to sell oil, sanctions lifted, an inspection regime with all the teeth of a 118-year-old grannie?

Anybody ever heard of the "Good Cop-Bad Cop" routine? Obama got played bigtime.

The Iranian Mullahs were in dire straits, the people increasingly upset with the leadership. The situation was ripe for us to start putting some serious cracks in that fascist regime that sponsors so much terror and that has killed so many of our troops.

But no, Barry and Heinz-Kerry come back from the Persian Bazaar with their pants down around their ankles and holding a handful of magic beans.

I still can't figure out if Obama is stupid or evil.

The Demagogue in Chief stooped to a new low when he sneeringly said the GOP was making common cause with Iranian hardliners in a speech...

      No kidding!

Even some liberal columnists in the WaPo have faulted Obama for what he did in that speech.

From this recent essay by Ruth Marcus:

President Obama says those who oppose the Iran nuclear deal are either ideological or illogical. I support the deal, yet I think this assessment is incorrect and unfair. It diminishes the president’s case for congressional approval.

That case is strong but not overwhelming; it is not, to use a loaded phrase, a slam dunk. Reasonable minds can — and do — differ on whether to back it.

Obama once understood, even celebrated, this gray zone of difficult policy choices. He was a man who took pains to recognize and validate the legitimate concerns of those on the opposite side of nearly any complex debate.

The new Obama, hardened and embittered — the one on display in his American University speech last week and in the follow-up spate of interviews — has close to zero tolerance for those who reach contrary conclusions....

In 2008, Obama stated the following in his acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention:

Let us resist the temptation to fall back on the same partisanship and pettiness and immaturity that has poisoned our politics for so long. Let us remember that it was a man from this state who first carried the banner of the Republican Party to the White House – a party founded on the values of self-reliance, individual liberty, and national unity. Those are values we all share, and while the Democratic Party has won a great victory tonight, we do so with a measure of humility and determination to heal the divides that have held back our progress. As Lincoln said to a nation far more divided than ours, "We are not enemies, but friends…though passion may have strained it must not break our bonds of affection." And to those Americans whose support I have yet to earn – I may not have won your vote, but I hear your voices, I need your help, and I will be your President too.

Now, Obama is the Great Divider and Sneering Name Caller.

When, during the whopping almost 3 years he served as state senator? Imagine him doing this as president? Now he's so thin skinned he insults anybody who dares disagree and signs Exec Orders on wide-changing legislation as if he doesn't give a damn....His website says something like "We are what we were waiting for"...I think the 'WE' is interpreted by him as "I".

  5. CARSON: Maybe I am not objective when it comes to Planned Parenthood, but, you know, I know who Margaret Sanger is, and I know that she believed in eugenics, and one of the reasons you find most of their clinics in black neighborhoods is so that you can find a way to control that population. I think people should go back and read about Margaret Sanger who founded this place — a woman Hillary Clinton by the way says that she admires. Look and see what many people in Nazi Germany said about her.

"Demagogue in Chief"? How about Capon-in-Chief? The man couldn't even secure the release of Americans held by the Iranians. Thank God it wasn't lil' Bowe in their custody. We might have thrown in a nuclear-powered submarine as part of the deal.

    Part II of II:

Regarding the whole idiotic sloganeering, "Black Lives Matter" .... Since the homicide rate continues to spike in Baltimore - I have a new and reasonable slogan: Decent Lives Matter. Let the remainder, kill each other off.

Only decent lives really matter! And decency is not based on color but it is based on character. Woof! Bow Wow!
