A Fool And His Money Are Soon Parted

(For politics, please scroll down)

Contrary to what many people may believe, the Ashley Madison online dating service was not exactly a free service.  See THIS about the fees involved.

Now comes this information: Ashley Madison was a bunch of dudes talking to each other, data analysis suggests.

Mark Twain was a genius:

  1. I may be dense (not so dense to go to Ashley Madison ), but I must ask, if these guys got nothing for their money, why did they continue?
Or was it actually a homosexual exchange.
I am reminded of reading years ago that the predominant purchaser of Playgirl was homosexual men.

    1. Ed,
I doubt that much of this had to do with a homosexual exchange.

As I understand the data, most men availing themselves of Ashley Madison were heterosexual.

if these guys got nothing for their money, why did they continue?

They were enjoying phone sex or a similar gratification with people or bots purporting to be women.

  2. I have stumbled upon a magnificent income stream! I are launching a new site. I will create profiles of ladies which reflect every known sexual proclivity and need for gratuitous sex. You join and want a woman with big knockers? I will create dozens of them. You join and want a threesome? I have those women tucked away in my brain too! Want a woman with a "Monica" smile? Gotcha!

The member will then fork over $250.00 for a "guarantee" of an affair in three months or receive a total refund.

The way I look at it if I can get 100,000 men a month to give me $250 dollars I can run the damn thing like a modified Ponzi scheme. Isn't that what Ashley Madison is doing?

One of my girlfriends got it right. "Men are one-half step up from dogs."

    Woof! Bow Wow!

*On a serious note, I know many, many decent men who cherish their wives. Not all, are Josh Duggar half-wits.

    1. Another example of the capacity of the Internet to amplify our isolation and disconnectedness.

  4. That's the best you can do, Ducky? I was looking forward to a comment that is not isolated and disconnected regarding the headline, "A Fool and his Money...." Ashley Madison has subscribers in all but three zip codes in the U.S.

    Long live free market capitalism!

    1. Tammy,
Ashley Madison has subscribers in all but three zip codes in the U.S.

Now, that in an interesting point!

D.C. among those three zip codes, right?

  5. Like my favorite band, The Avett Brothers sing in their song, The Weight of Lies, "Lies don't need and aeroplane, to chase you down."

Before it was nosy neighbors, now it's hackers. If you're ridin'd dirty, you're bound to get caught...
