The script practically writes itself. The dad is like Homer in that he thinks he knows what he is talking about but he doesnot so we laugh everytime he says like....I am going to cut the deficit in half....Barack is thinner and hipper than Homer so this is great....and Marge was sort of boring I mean a stay at home mom no what we have is a jet setting globe trotting mother who with the help of dozens of servants and tutors is raising a family...and the good news they are not paying for anything...you are. In fact the family has gotten richer while "serving the public"
If this was not are reality that would be damn funny.....
I think Waffle works in that the concept is folks are for cuts to other programs in a general sense but once someone raises an objection because "children will strave" or "old people will be out in the street" then the logic of reductions to save the system fails and people waffle saying things like "its only a 100 billion more in a 2 trillion budget" or "cutting this will not balance the budget". or "you just want to give rich people tax breaks" or "you are putting the burden on to the middle class"
ReplyDeleteOk the last one is true but not the way it is couched in the media. The middle class does pay most of the taxes. I know the charts say otherwise and you are right the actual cutting of the checks comes from rich working people. and there in is the problem, we pay are taxes through payroll deduction and most of the burden has been shifted to the rich who employ people so we the working people have little connection to the process except that I guarantee you that rich people are smart folks who will follow their own interest and any tax hike will trickle down....
so the choice is clear...accept higher taxes and bondage to your government or demand cuts to government spending....

ReplyDeleteIt seems that Obama will be golfing on Memorial Day and letting Joe Biden do ceremonies for honoring our troops. Not a surprise, of course.
Obama is coming up his 100th round of golf while serving as POTUS. I guess that he wants to set some kind of world's record in that regard.

When you read Genesis--it chills your bones to think a people could trade their freedom and their children's freedom for food.....

I think I have admitted this before but I tell you honestly I cry during the playing of the National Athem.... I fear not just for my own children but this great Nation. I fear that we are trading our freedom for temporary pleasures much like Pleasure Island in Pinocchio and then the boys were turned into donkeys....odd that the democrats are the party of the donkey (a beast of burden serving the whip)...
