The West Virginia Presidential Primary

Maybe Obama can't win in November after all!

From the Huffington Post:
CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Just how unpopular is President Barack Obama in some parts of the country? Enough that a man in prison in Texas is getting 4 out of 10 votes in West Virginia's Democratic presidential primary....
Yes, felon Keith Judd got only 40% of the vote. But he's in prison! When was the last time that an incarcerated felon got that many votes in a Presidential primary?

In the big scheme of things, West Virginia doesn't have many votes in the electoral college. Nevertheless, the article indicates that some people are fed up to their eye teeth with Obama. As most know, West Virginia has been particularly hard-hit by the recession and the Obama administration's energy policies:
Obama's energy policies and the Environmental Protection Agency's handling of mining-related permits have incurred the wrath of West Virginia's coal industry. With the state the nation's second-biggest producer of this fossil fuel, Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin and Sen. Joe Manchin – both Democrats have championed the industry – have declined to say whether they will support Obama in November....

  2. So one candidate has been convicted and the other one hasn't yet...

This is an enormous embarrassment for Obama!

  3. West Virginia Democrats have sent a message to the Obama administration and the entire country is watching. Watch Obama start trying to distract America from the real issue: The colossal failure of his administration to fix the economy.

Oops! He's already started with the recent charges that Romney "bullied" a kid in 1965. In Prep school.

    Oh yeah, that's damaging. (snark)

  4. Oh, yes, Mark... And a gay kid, too, because Romney is a bigot because of his faith, yet somehow Obama isn't with his G-d damn America Black Liberation Theology.

  5. INO, Obama can not win this election but Romney could lose it. I thought it was funny that the convict actually won nine counties. that had to hurt the Narcissist, Obama. I read the other day that even in California Obama's popularity has fallen from 55% to 50%. Romney can when this election if he stays on the offense.

  6. Mark,
You mentioned the Obama campaign's using distraction as a re-election strategy.

In my view, those distractions have not even begun to ramp up yet -- although, today, the Washington Post's main headline on the front page of the hard-copy edition was about was about Romney's bad behavior in high school. The online title of that lead article is as follows: "Mitt Romney’s prep school classmates recall pranks, but also troubling incidents."

This is news? Something that possibly happened some 50 years ago? Gimme a break!

I read today at the Drudge Report that Obama shoved a girl in high school. See THIS, obviously NOT covered by the WaPo.

Obama's shoving a girl in high school, according to his own admission in Dreams of My Father is a big deal? Really?

I'm already sick, sick, sick of the distractions. They must be responded to, I guess. But what do these distractions have to do with governance?

  7. Conservatives On Fire,
If Romney is to win in November, he'll have to stay on the offensive. What he needs to drive home is how his policies would differ from Obama's. Show up Obama's record for what it is!

  9. The prisoner would have gotten my vote.

Heck, even my beautiful and intelligent cat could do a better job as president than Obama. :)

Have a great weekend my precious friend!

  10. Huh?

    Excerpt:

The Obama campaign added a section on “clean coal” to its website this week after House Republicans alleged that the president’s “all-of-the-above” energy plan neglected the fossil fuel.

“President Obama has set a 10-year goal to develop and deploy cost-effective clean coal technology,” the website now says.

    [...]

As of Wednesday, the website did not include “clean coal” in a graphic outlining the president’s much-touted “all-of-the-above” energy plan.

  14. “If someone wants to build a new coal-fired power plant they can, but it will bankrupt them because they will be charged a huge sum for all the greenhouse gas that’s being emitted.”

  16. What I found interesting about that Huff Post article was the comments. Just cruising through 2 pages, it seems that conservatives, republicans, in other words, non-lefties, dominate the comments. Aside from the stupid WV jokes, it was refreshing. Esp. since I personally despise the Huff Post and its founder.

  17. Freedom By The Way,
I, too, despise the Huffington Post. I used this article because it was convenient and because, yes, the comments are quite something, which I should have mentioned in the body of this blog post.

  18. In NC, something like 21% of Registered Democrats voted no preference in stead of c asting a ballot for Barak Hussein Obama

  19. Blogginator,
Really? I hadn't heard that one.

Quite damning of Obama and evidence of what a failure his administration has been.

FYI--this is not a Blue State. BHO got the edge last time because we were not interested in McCain.

  21. There's coal mining in my state as well. I just have this bad feeling that the Chicago machine already has the fix in.

  22. It certainly is bad when even convicts are more popular than you. Let's hope that remains the case when it's time for obama to face the people.
