Thank You

Silverfiddle Rant!
El Donaldo Leads the Reconquista

Thank you President Trump for injecting some of your brass balls, steel spine, and reactive armor into the Grand Old Party.

Any other GOP president would have caved halfway through the Kavanaugh smear, and the GOP rank and file would have wet themselves and scurried to the tall grass to figure out how to ingratiate themselves with CNN.

Thank you Justice Kavanaugh and family for bravely facing the lies and calumny and refusing to cave to the frightful pressure from the baying mobs. You have struck a mighty blow for the truth, and your victorious stand may end up being the high water mark of the uncorroborated, unsubstantiated, fact-free public square condemnations fueled by #MeToo hysteria.

The Democrat Scam That Failed

Thank you arrogant Democrats, for overplaying your hand in such an operatic fashion.  You were so cocky, from so many years of of flogging and de-pantsing crouching Republicans, that you got sloppy. The Kavanaugh smear was as amateurish as it was diabolical. You just motivated millions of good middle-America people to go out and vote for Republicans this November.

A New GOP Dawn

Thank you Mitch McConnell for politely invoking the Biden Rule and allowing the 2016 voters to decide whether to send Judge Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court. Despite the leftwing screaming propaganda attacks, you held firm, and you did so with grace and dignity.

Thank you Charles Grassley for conducting a straight-up hearing despite Democrat dirty tricks, leftwing hysteria, ham-fisted histrionics and circus clown antics. You and all the GOP senators showed America what sober, adult leadership looks like. You surprised me by handling the delicate Dr Ford accusations with fairness and sensitivity, and when no corroborating evidence surfaced, you stood up for the American principle of Innocent until Proven Guilty

Finally, the GOP stood on principle and fought, and--mirabile dictu--WON!

The Republicans have brought us a hard-won triumph of facts, logic and reason, and they have dealt a defeat to hysteria, media manipulation, and emotion-based propaganda.

Well done, Senate Republicans. America thanks you.

That keeps going through my mind.

Without Trump, none of this good stuff would have happened.

"She said the whole thing left her angry enough to vote in the midterms, and she usually doesn't bother. She made it clear her vote was directly because of the Kavenaugh fiasco."

      I am encouraged.

    4. Let me try that comment again (my previous comment deleted)....

I want a RED tidal wave in November.

  5. I expect rioting mayhem -- perhaps deadly mayhem -- from these Dems. They will not gently release the reins of power.

  6. Certainly better Kavanuagh that candidate proffered by a Leftist, but I'll be anxious to see how he weighs in on 4th Amendment cases.

  7. One thing is fairly certain...

If Brett Kavanaugh was not a hardened enemy of the left, he is now. Thanks, dumbasses. :)

  8. The one bright light in all this was Heidi Heitkamp, hardly a far leftist but a moderate who sincerely showed some respect for democratic institutions in her statement explaining her rejection of Kavanaugh.
She's in a tough reelection campaign and this will probably hurt her considerably.

    1. Who? That voice was pretty much drowned out as far as know.

I just Google searched her. She was already way behind for November, and her vote has likely cost her the seat.

    4. Enough with the bawling about "corporate oligarchy." What the hell has the left ever done about it, besides coopt it?

In Venezuela, they have a "Boligarchy," an opprobrious portmanteau crafted by "el pueblo" to express their hatred of the ruling socialist oligarchs who eat rich meals and whizz around in expensive vehicles while the poor suffer.

Show some solidarity, Ducky! Move to a Rio favela and fight the power! Show some solidarity! Right now, your cred is ZERO

    7. As far as Venezuela is concerned it's a weak mind that can't see alternatives between fascism and the Venezuelan condition which is common to many nations which depended exclusively on oil exports to finance imports of consumer goods.

But we needed to teach Venezuela a lesson so we complicated the situation with sanctions. We sanctioned Libya and Iran also, you've no doubt noticed the higher gasoline prices.

  10. The Left shows their true face:

Cory Gardner's wife sent beheading video amid Kavanaugh confirmation battle.

    Excerpt:

A prominent Republican senator's wife received a graphic video via text message amid Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh's heated confirmation process.

Sen. Cory Gardner, R-Co., said Sunday his wife Jaime was sent a text with a video of a beheading after Kavanaugh's nomination was roiled by allegations of sexual misconduct. The names and addresses of some of his family members were also posted online before the justice was confirmed Saturday.

    [...]

As the Kavanaugh debate played out, a former congressional aide was arrested for "doxing" five GOP senators during the justice's charged hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee about one of his accusers, Christine Blasey Ford. He now faces nearly 50 years in federal prison.

    5. Meanwhile, Ford has received numerous death threats which the right has chosen to ignore.

I think it is a better "edification" to contrast Heitkamp's principled rejection of Kavanaugh to Susan Collin's public gaslighting of Ford.

  11. Women will hold the key to mid-term democratic candidate's success. Dems show a narrow lead in polling in battleground Congressional districts. Men lean republican @ 51%. Women lean democratic. So, hope is alive that the house flips. If the majority of women are thinking like my wife, a lifelong Republican, the house will flip. My wife credits the Kavanaugh fiasco for her decision to vote democratic for the first time in over 30 years...

November could be a very good month.

    1. Yours is but one data point.

Women don't herd easily, as any man with any experience can tell you.

Also, the majority of women love the men in their lives. They don't want to see their husbands, fathers, brothers and sons condemned by Maoist mob kangaroo courts.

The Democrats have made it clear they despise the bedrock American principle of Innocent until Proven Guilty.

      Delete
    2. You're right Silver, mine is but one data point. Other data points I've seen, as well as the many people I've spoke with, conservative and liberal alike lead me to believe the data point cited.

As for the Maoist Kangaroo Court. No one I know, either conservative OR liberal wants or would support that. ALL patriotic Americans respect the rule of law and the principle of Innocent Until Proven Guilty, conservative and liberal alike.

The issue with respect to Kavanaugh was the process IMO. IE the integrity of the supplemental investigation. Liberals, independents, and even some conservatives viewed it that why. But Kavanaugh is now a Supreme and as they say it is what it is. Time to move on and prepare for the next battle.

As for me, at 66, I'll just ignore the unethical and dishonest and do what is the right thing. I do not follow the herd. Nor does my intelligent, independent, and lovely better half.

Be well Silver... Thanks for you comment.

    3. "The Process" found no corroborating witnesses. It didn't take an FBI investigation for corroborating witness to show up in these very highly publicized allegations. There was no there, there.

Maryland has no statute of limitations on such crimes. The alleged victims need to file police reports. Put up or shut up.

      Delete
    4. Given the data on why sexual assault and rape go grossly underreported by women I'm thinking the cavalier put up or shut attitude may just be part of the reason women choose not to report Silver.

Instead of investigating Ford's claim in the confidentiality of the Senate Judiciary committee, these leftwing activists chose to leak her story and exploit her for their diabolical political agenda. I wish there were a way to make them pay a legal consequence for the malfeasance they committed. Damn them all.
