Property Confiscation (With Addendum)

Most readers of this blog have likely heard about the Cattle Battle at the Bundy Ranch. Technically, this confrontation did not involve eminent domain but rather the Bureau of Land Management and grazing rights on public lands.

Now something similar is afoot in Texas.  Before continuing to read this blog post, please go to THIS LINK to read the article and to watch the video about another possible impending land grab on the part of the Bureau Land Management.

The BLM aside, the matter of eminent domain (objected to by our Founders Thomas Jefferson and James Madison), particularly as redefined by the Kelo v. City of New London decision of 2005, should be of concern to all Americans — no matter where they live.

Prior to the Kelo decision, privately-owned land was typically not confiscated by the government and the ownership transferred to another private owner. Rather, the power of seizing private property via the power of eminent domain was restricted to certain public-use situations so as to prevent the abuse of government power:
...Jim Saleet worked in the pharmaceutical industry, paid off his house and then retired. Now, he and his wife plan to spend the rest of their days there [in Lakewood, Ohio], and pass their house on to their children.

But Lakewood's mayor, Madeleine Cain, has other plans. She wants to tear down the Saleets' home, plus 55 homes around it, along with four apartment buildings and more than a dozen businesses.

Why? So that private developers can build high-priced condos, and a high-end shopping mall, and thus raise Lakewood's property tax base.

The mayor told 60 Minutes that she sought out a developer for the project because Lakewood's aging tax base has been shrinking and the city simply needs more money.

"This is about Lakewood's future. Lakewood cannot survive without a strengthened tax base. Is it right to consider this a public good? Absolutely," says the mayor, who admits that it's difficult and unfortunate that the Saleets are being asked to give up their home....
Returning for a moment to the case of New London, Connecticut, land was confiscated from the owners of private property and ownership transferred to another private owner for "the public good."  Today, that land in New London, Connecticut, is a "temporary dump":
The case arose in the context of condemnation by the city of New London, Connecticut, of privately owned real property, so that it could be used as part of a “comprehensive redevelopment plan.” However, the private developer was unable to obtain financing and abandoned the redevelopment project, leaving the land as an empty lot, which was eventually turned into a temporary dump.
In Philadelphia, there has been another recent case involving the overreach of eminent domain in Philadelphia.

This should now be running through your head:
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.

  1. Vladimir Lenin once said “A lie told or repeated often enough soon becomes the truth

And we all know that Obama knows his Lenin. And that is no lie!
Lenin, Stalin, Obama, Eric Holder Bill and Hillary Clinton. “What Difference Does It make”!
This president's past history is totally based on lies. Right from day one when he had sealed his papers so no one can learn the truth about his background,or see his Birth Certificate. At this point it doesn’t make any difference if the Certificate was true or Fake. The point is that this president went through a lot of trouble trying to hide it. And that’s NO lie. .
We all know that once someone lies, especially someone that we should be trusting above anyone else, they then find it much easier to lie again a second time and then a third time, and again and again until it becomes habitual; he or she tells lies without thinking about it. And soon without anyone in the world believing it.
Hillary Clinton called it "Miss Speaking"! Oops, I Misspoke About That Bosnia Experience ... when she spoke about her and her crew landing in Bosnia “under sniper fire." When it was CLEAR and proved by Video footage that there was NO no visible threat from “sniper fire” at all. In fact the video showed her and her daughter Chelsea at a greeting ceremony on the tarmac. They were greeted by a little Bosnian girl reading them a poem. Hillary and Chelsea even paused to take pictures.
Obama has mounted monuments of lies. And the Mother of ALL Lies, and the most blatant lie was prior to the 2012 elections, when he claimed that the Sept. 11 attack that killed our Ambassador to Libya and three Seals acting as security personnel was a “spontaneous demonstration” based on a video regarding Mohammed.
Yes, they were Brutally Killed after they repeatedly ask for more help and security, and the rescue never came
As we know, that was a blatant lie, but in her testimony before a congressional committee then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton famously asked “What difference does it make?”
Obama’s lies go all the back to his Oath of Office in January of 2009, when he said,
“I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

    1. Debonair,
From the beginning of his campaign in 2008, Obama made it clear that he had "a different vision" as to what the United States should be. There is plenty of record before then as to what his "vision" is.

It speaks to the gullibility of the American electorate that so many were taken in -- and are still taken in by Obama's doublespeak.

    2. What obama did (his speech writers) was simply use the old tactic to not be specific Or to cover all the bases in a single sentence as kerry did when he ran. People, by nature fill in the blanks with their own fantasies and vote for that. Most people never follow up to see if any of it actually happened or accept wolfey blitzkreig's explanation during his romper room show that it either happened or didn't because the evil right stood in the way.

  2. It seems to me that what's afoot with property confiscation here in the United States is Stalin-esque:

...The Soviet leadership was confident that the replacement of individual peasant farms by collective ones would immediately increase the food supply for urban population, the supply of raw materials for processing industry, and agricultural exports....

    1. Oh SURE! Characters like Barack Obama -- the Black Marxist tarted up in a Brookes Brothers suit, who doesn't talk like a typical Merkin Nigra -- is one of a now-vast army of similar Ivy-League-Educated characters who have gotten their hands on the levers of power. They are busily transforming our once-free society into a Socialist Workers Paradise. This Noveau-Ivy League Image is the modern day equivalent of the Trojan Horse.

I just heard the infamous Van Jones -- a KNOWN Communist -- holding forth at "conference" at NYU as though he really belonged there. Others who spoke seemed quite respectable, although one was clearly a leftist. I was shocked to see many members of the largely white audience gazing at this filthy bastard with rapt adoration, and listening to his well-modulated calumny stated in quasi-Caucasian diction with what-appeared-to-be deep respect,

To this we've come, laydeeze and jennimun, and may God damn to HELL anyone who thinks scenes like this indicate "PROGRESS."

    2. FT,
a now-vast army of similar Ivy-League-Educated characters who have gotten their hands on the levers of power. They are busily transforming our once-free society into a Socialist Workers Paradise.

And it seems that most Americans are cheering on this transformation.

  3. This kind of thing started with Teddy Roosevelt's taking possession by personal, presidential EDICT of vast tracts of land in the [still, largely undeveloped] American West to set aside in perpetuity as a series of National Parks.

This was an enlightened, inherently wise decision of course, but it was ALSO the unconstitutional act of DICTATOR. Because TR was a POPULAR REPUBLICAN, it was almost unthinkable to question or challenge the decisions he made around the turn of the last century or the [decidedly undemocratic] methods he used to implement public policy.

Lincoln got away with acting as a dictator, and that was The beginning of the End of the United States the Founders envisioned. The Progressives further eroded the power of the Constitution. That all of this was done in the guise of Wise, Humane, Enlightened policy makes it all the more deadly.

Forcing well-intenioned sweeping decisions on an ignorant, unsuspecting public is worse than benign neglect, because so often the best of intentions carry with them hideous ramifications.

This is what happens almost invariably whenever we desert PRINCIPLE in favor of EXPEDIENCY.

Do the ends EVER justify the means?

    1. FT,
Speaking of national parks, please see this recent post over at Bunkerville. Brief excerpt:

...Keep in mind that a so-called monument can amount to millions of acres confiscated....

Please read Mustang's post today: I wish it were not so. Worth your time.

  5. The moral of these stories may be condensed in this: Beware of anything government pushes "FOR THE PUBLIC GOOD"!

  6. The Bundy issue basically boils down to....is it really Nevada land or is it Federal land....?
According to the Constitution the Feds are not supposed to own it....but what will the EPA and all the other Federal bloodsuckers do then....?
But of course lefties do not want to even acknowledge anything that’s written in the Constitution...
Just trying to put the lefties concern with Bundy's so-called 'racism' into perspective..

    1. Screaming Eagle,
The Bundy issue basically boils down to....is it really Nevada land or is it Federal land....?

The Feds do not have to own the land technically. The Feds can "regulate the land to death."

  7. And speaking of Slavery......why don't the Dimwits scream about the prostitution rings coming across our borders from Mexico TODAY.....? While these Lefty Extremists Do-Goodie Missionary freaks run to Mexico to Preach their Bull-Shit .... How about trying to solve our civil problems first?

    1. Screaming Eagle,
      Have you read Mexifornia?

    2. Waldo, the Wise Old Owl, said

Does anyone have it on a verifiably undoctored tape? If not, it would be better not to repeat it, because it may be just a canard.

    3. Waldo, the Wise Old Ow,l said

I'm sorry that last remark was meant to go under the next remark, the one that quoted LBJ saying the N-word.

  8. By the way, Who Said: "I'll have them niggers voting Democrat for the next 200 years"

Why it was Lyndon B. Johnson, the Democratic Party's “Great Society” Hero.

Gonna tell us more about Paula Deen and the N Word?

  9. AOW and I are professional colleagues and have an iron-sharpens-iron dialogue on any given day. We have both followed different tracks related to the Bundy Ranch standoff. I appreciate her blog today. My own salvo, can be found at Daily Times Pakistan:

Has anyone else wondered why a U.S. Senator is allowed to continue to ply his influence? Is Senator Harry Reid the patriarch of a white collar, family crime syndicate? Crony capitalism does not leave a blood trail. But it does suck the lifeblood out of those effected by it.

Regarding fellow Texan ( and immortal rascal LBJ) he never minced words. Luckily, he married well and Lady Bird remains a symbol of southern charm. LBJ was pure snake oil. But he had a blackmail list a mile long against his political opponents. Takes one, to know one. sigh

    1. Tammy,
Thank you for acknowledging our friendship, our status as professional colleagues.

I will, of course, be reading the link that you left. As per our conversations, I have an idea of what you say in your essay, but I want to read the finished product.

PS: My mother personally knew LBJ. I have some tales to tell. But those are stories for another time. I will say, however, that the man was the personification of a successful politician. The power that LBJ wielded!

  10. "While these Lefty Extremists Do-Goodie Missionary freaks run to Mexico to Preach their Bull-Shit .... "

Referring to Dave Miller, this comment calls the word of Jesus "Bull-Shit," since Miller is a Christian and in his missionary work, exemplifies Christian love and ideals.

Hatred and ignorance does awful things to one's heart, it terms the word of Jesus into "Bull-Shit."

“Referring to Dave Miller, this comment calls the word of Jesus "Bull-Shit," since Miller is a Christian and in his missionary work, exemplifies Christian love and ideals. “

Hey Ass-Hat, if I wanted to refer to Jesus, then I would have said so, but I DIDN’T. I DID however want to refer to Dave Miller, and therefor I say so.
And by the way, I DID use MY name, unlike you!

    I. unlike YOU say what I mean, and mean what I say. Therefor I am a Conservative. You don’t and therefor YOU are a COWARDLY LIBERAL

  12. Should racists be allowed to own NBA franchises? Or should their property rights be confiscated by public acclaim?

    1. Thersites,
I think that the latter is where this thing with Donald Sterling is going.

  13. I've always opined that the issue of property rights should be the flagship plank in my party's platform. It's certainly a priority within the membership of the party, and through organizations such as the Institute for Justice....but it doesn't get the it's due in party messaging to voters.

    1. CI,
I think that most voters do not yet understand that their property could indeed be in jeopardy -- sooner rather than later.

  14. It's a REAL shame that Donald Sterling won't be receiving his SECOND NAACP Lifetime Achievement Award over some inadvertent remarks recorded by a celebrity seeking girlfriend... but to lose a basketball franchise over them???

  15. Dave Miller is a decent Christian who follows what Jesus implored his followers to do: help the needy, the sick, the abandoned. Screaming Eagle prefers to slander good men like Miller for reasons we can only guess at. Maybe Screaming Eagle hasn't the ability to open his heart and look at the good in this world that people like Dave Miller accomplish. That's too bad.

    1. Ann Observer said

The thread was not about Dave Miller. It was you, or someone else bearing your name, who put Miller's name into the ring, and tried to make a stink about it. And you succeeded, because as you hoped, many proved themselves too weak and self-indulgent to avoid rising to the bait. I don't admire people who deliberately poke sticks into hornets' nests.

    2. Maybe! But maybe he(screaming eagle ) is right! As I think he is.
Either way, screaming eagle has every right to say what he wants to and how he feels. And you have NO right to try to stop him.

    3. John,
Ahem. Nobody on the administrative team here has deleted those comments which appear to refer to Dave Miller.

However, please take note of this in the comments policy of this blog...

We will delete comments that include any of the following:...Off topic comments...

On the other hand, off topic comments can, at times, serve a useful purpose. For that reason, I let the comments that you've referred to remain on this board.

    4. I have referred to a comment ready on this blog.
If it was alright for them to write it, the it should be alright for me to answer and reply to it.
With all due respect to you. Aren't we still In America? Do we not have these rights any longer because of a Socialist in the White House?

    5. Sorry AOW, but John is 100 percent correct.
Yes John, no matter what these Bleeding Hearts say. We STILL do have our freedom of speech left here.
For how long, I can't say, but for now, we do.

    6. Let me be clear. This blog is my property.

Overall, this blog an open forum. And that has been my policy from the first day that I ever opened a blog (back in 2005 at a different URL).

But not completely open as per amfew unoppressive rules for commenting. No administrator here deletes any comment simply because of disagreeing with a commenter's point of view.

Other blog owners may have different policies, which is the owners' right.

If it was alright for them to write it, the it should be alright for me to answer and reply to it.

Indeed. But also please be aware that the administrators here do not babysit this blog.

  16. We may not agree, but we at least understand the rational for confiscating private property for public use. What I do not understand is the confiscation of private property, so that it can be sold to private persons in order to generate revenues for the governmental entity. But let’s go back to the beginning: who elects people who think this way?

    1. Mustang,
The term public use has now been nearly replaced by public good. In that manner has the ownership of private properties been, in essence, forced to transfer to the ownership of other private parties so as to make more money for the government.

Let's consider this for a moment. Few of us own homes that couldn't be made to generate more governmental revenue if those home were replaced with high rises (business or residences or megamansions). And if there are more governmental revenues coming in, then there will be more parks, more schools, etc. -- all for "the public good." See how that works?

      Now, about the Kelo Decision:

On June 23, 2005, the Supreme Court, in a 5–4 decision, ruled in favor of the City of New London. Justice Stevens wrote the majority opinion, joined by Justices Anthony Kennedy, David Souter, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer.

The principal dissent was issued on 25 June 2005 by Justice O'Connor, joined by Chief Justice Rehnquist and Justices Scalia and Thomas. The dissenting opinion suggested that the use of this taking power in a reverse Robin Hood fashion— take from the poor, give to the rich— would become the norm, not the exception....

  17. Mr. Anonymous; I don't know anything about what Screaming Eagle says, and it might be horrific and cruel aimed toward Dave Miller; but what's too bad is that some of Dave's attitudes here in America are an ideology many of us don't share, Christians or not. All of us wish him well in his support of other countries' people. I personally hope more and more 'missionaries' recognize the problems we have here and try to solve them, too.

AOW: I don't believe that Eminent Domain is 'sexy' enough for most voters to worry about...nor is it widespread enough...YET. It's growing, but until more are affected, it's just not a voting point...

    1. Dave Miller has stated on this blog, I believe, that he works with the poor and needy in Mexico to help them help themselves so they can thrive in their own country and not find it necessary to cross the border for a better life. In that, Dave Miller is helping to solve the problems we have here. It's too bad his message stating those goals got lost in people obsession with his politics. BTW, he's gone after liberals many times for their hypocrisy. Another fact people here choose to ignore in their zeal to slander him.

    2. Z,
It won't be "sexy" enough until more and more lose their property to the ever-burgeoning bureaucracy. By then, America will have been fundamentally transformed.

  18. You have touched the tip of the iceberg with this post, AOW. We are going to see community governs inventing all kinds of ways to raise their tax base as the middle class incomes continue to shrink.

    1. Jim,
As I mentioned above: "fundamentally transforming America."

    2. Jim, I always respect your opinion, and admire your concise statements that invariably zero in on the truth. After having said that, I'd like to know what you consider a "Middle-Class Income" to be these days? Thanks. I hope you will find time to reply.

  19. I know that it may be harsh, or should I say it may SOUND harsh , but I really feel my home country is the FIRST place to start and that we should NOT be running off to MEXICO to help the needy. I believe in America first. And I don’t need any
Proverbs, or quotes from Matthew, or Luke to convince me.

As for David and his Two Faced comments, that’s another story, for another day and time. A lot of people around the blogs (Liberal’s) have ideas of what America should be doing elsewhere, I don’t!
As for Immigration, t here's a way to enter the country legally for anyone who wants to get in line. If they can’t and won’t then I have NO Tolerance for them.

  20. There are IDIOTS all over the blogisphere, for example here’s one, by a Libaputz called Titan you're famous!

“On Sunday, Michael Hiltzik, a Los Angeles Times columnist, tweeted that local voter records show Sterling to be a registered Republican "since 1998." We followed up on that, and a search of the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder's website for Sterling's name, date of birth, and address confirmed that he's registered as a Republican.”

  21. Dave Miller is helping to solve the problems we have here. It's too bad his message stating those goals got lost in people obsession with his politics. BTW, he's gone after liberals many times for their hypocrisy. Another fact people here choose to ignore in their zeal to slander him.

LOL, Funny, but the only one that I ever saw him “Go After” and Attack is George Bush and Ronald Reagan!

  22. Look for the government(s) to become more confiscatory, in every way possible, as our [real] economy retracts and the value of our money shrinks while politicians continue to promise more largess to those on the dole.

  23. Why all the chatter about Dave Miller? In this thread, I mean.

Did I miss something? I've been busy all day: teaching, shuttling Mr. AOW, and grading papers.

    1. Waldo, the Wise Old Owl, said

Not to worry, AOW. You've been attacked by the Flying Monkeys, minions of the Wicked Witch of the Blogosphere to whom they are in thrall. Like chattering magpies these ungainly creatures act as an army of trolls whose mission is to distract from legitimate commentary by changing the subject to irritating-often-inflammatory-but-irrelevant non-issues. The conservatives have an army of trolls of their own who delight in confronting this nonsense and compounding it, till they've made hash of a potentially worthwhile thread.

It's best to pretend not to notice them, if you don't have time to delete them.

These guessing games about who's behind the various identities are a waste of everyone's time.

    2. Waldo,
You've been attacked by the Flying Monkeys...

      Well, I'm not surprised.

  24. Don't try to distract or change the Subject AQW, Racist Clippers Owner Donald Sterling supports REPUBLICAN candidates: Stirling has been a registered Republican since 1998. That's a fact.
Racist Clippers Owner Donald Sterling like Cliven Bundy LA Clippers Owner Donald Sterling Is a Republican
That means that even as he spreads his influence around and identifies with is the GOP.It’s disgusting
When a jerk says African Americans were better off being slaves, there's no mistaking that sort of racism and what people like Bundy.

    1. George,
I am not defending any such statements.

Also, you need to review these two logic fallacies:

      4. Part-to-Whole: Where someone asserts that what is true of part of something must also be true of the whole thing together.

Child: “Mommy, why is this feather pillow so heavy? It only has feathers in it and little feathers weigh hardly anything.”
If I can break this bunch of sticks, one by one, Mommy, why can’t I break a bunch of sticks together?

      5. Whole-to-Part: Where someone asserts that what is true of something as a whole must also be true of each of its parts. This is the reverse of the part-to-whole fallacy.

If our bag of potato chips won’t float when I throw it in the pond, why will one of my potato chips float by itself?
If I can’t break this bunch of sticks, all at once, Mommy, shouldn’t I be able to break each individual stick?

    2. Addendum: If one is going to condone taking away property from registered Republicans who make apparently racist statements, then in the interest of parity one should be taking away property from those in any political party who make apparently racist statements. Do a Google search of "Jesse Jackson ethnic slurs" for starters (without the quotation marks).

    3. I read Alex Haley's novel Roots when it was first published. Of course, the novel's main them was the evils of slavery. But I also recall another line in the book: when Kunta Kinte arrived to America, he was relieved that he was not going to end up in the cooking pot. Of course, what subsequently happened to him and other characters in the book was a tragedy and a travesty.

The above said, I must also reiterate that this blog post is not about Cliven Bundy's statements. Rather, this blog post is about the issue of government overreach via the confiscation of property or other restrictions on property.

  25. Stupid things Conservatives sayApril 28, 2014 at 3:52:00 PM CDT

Calling ALL conservatives. If you stood with Bundy and his illegal grazing on federal lands and thought that the government was excessive in trying to kick Bundy off those lands I'm sure you are standing with John Harter against a foreign corporation that is trying to steal his ACTUAL property. I guess that you believe in what that Racist Bastard Donald Sterling, the owner of the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers, told his girlfriend not to post pictures on Instagram of herself with black people and not to bring black people to his basketball games, according to an audio recording posted by TMZ.
In the recording, Sterling and his girlfriend are fighting over a picture she posted to Instagram of herself with NBA legend Magic Johnson, and Sterling demands that she stop “broadcasting” that she associates with black people. Sterling tells his girlfriend: “You can sleep with [black people]. You can bring them in, you can do whatever you want. The little I ask you is not to promote it on that … and not to bring them to my games.”

Conservatives think that Hillary shouldn't run because she's going to be a grandma. These same people voted for Romney, who has 35 Grandchildren.. Nope, no double standards there.

I'm sick and tired of slave movies and movies showing us a subservient. I'd rather stay focused on the greatness moments in our history, like the Great Hillary Clinton Lying her Fat Ass off about not being responsible for the 4 dead Americans in Benghazi

Remember the douche canoe Congressman that threatened to throw a reporter over a balcony? He's about to be indicted. Now ain’t that just too bad.!

Hannity the hack began his Racist show denouncing Bundy's racist comments and was somehow able to segue into blaming the NY Times for not covering Benghazi enough and ObamaCare is the worst thing to ever happen to this country (ahem…..9/11 maybe?). I swear I'm not drunk.

  26. I don't know why this is a surprise. Obama has stated clearly his intention of using the act to confiscate more land. As a point, Zoning can be equally destructive.. As many know, my family's farm had half zoned "open Space" essentially useless as far as value. Add Eminent Domain, and we are free no more.

  27. When someone comments and goes off track with a flanking issue I believe they are trying to steer the conversation away from the topic at hand. The topic at hand, is well-stated in the post. This makes the individual a saboteur. Either that, or an every day idiot with adult A.D.D.

Keep it on track, ladies and gents!

  28. Please note that there is now an addendum in the body of the blog post.

    1. I just read it -- a "BLOODBOILER" if ever there was one.

I think the only way anyone might manage to live independently today would be to emulate the GYPSIES -- keep on the move -- live only from hand to mouth -- use cash only -- don't maintain any kid of checking, savings or unvestment accounts. never tell anyone the truth about who you are, where you came from, what you now, and what you do to sustain yourself.

It sounds insane, and certainly would be devoid of all the "comforts" and "conveniences" we've come so pathetically to depend on, but we WOULD be as free as any human being ever has been on this beautiful-but-always-chalkenging planet.

One additional piece of advice to the would-be-free: Do all you can to maintain a straight, clean-cut, "normal" appearance. Don't dress in any way -- or do anything -- that might all attention to yourself. As you strive to be independent, you must still make every effort to APPEAR to fit in.

Never reman anywhere long enough to attract the curiosity of local officials or potential busybodies. You must be IN the world but not OF it.

Your motto must be SUICIDE is PREFERABLE to SLAVERY.

Good bye, good luck, and God bless you.

  29. The experts know better than individuals what the best use for a piece of real estate is... and what businesses would do best in every location.

They KNOW these things. It's not a guess, It's SCIENCE!

    Really! ... e-r-r-r-r... TRUST ME!

    1. We KNOW that THEY know better...because aren't they "supposed to know"?

And if the are "supposed to know", then they DO! Otherwise, they wouldn't be called "experts".

  30. Mr. Anonymous said on April 28, 2014 at 1:23:00

What is “Too bad is the fact that n 2014 America, your freedom of speed is subject to question, if you are a conservative. If you have thoughts like this, and it becomes known that you have your own opinions that differ from the way of the Liberal PC crowd, you are so toast.

Going forward, I'm becoming to feel more fearful of the lack of Free Speech we are and will be experiencing, than someone who makes some provocative comments.
Here in America, there should be no discussion about whether or not I have the right to say what I please.
Talk about throwing the baby out with the bath water.
As for the person Mr.(so called) Anonymous who wants deny me of my right to criticize or to state my own opinion, or finds fault with my criticism. your cowardly ignorance is misplaced, Why don’t he or she go and find another way to embarrass yourself.
All these Political Correct radical a-hole, Liberals need to get a life. So, despite your babbling, my original comment stands! Freedom of speech in America has been in decline ever since the Liberal teachers unions gained control.

And to get back to the subject of this blog that Ms. AOW has so brilliantly written. About RACISM. I’d like to switch to the Clippers Basketball Owner Donald Sterling case.
Although I DO NOT at all agree with anything that Donald Sterling said, in fact I do think that he was and is a Idiot for saying what he did. And yes he is a Moron. But however!
Sterling has every right to tell his girl friend to stop embarrassing him by bringing the aids infected brown man that she sleeps with to HIS basketball games.
And I do see a framed angle here, by having the Girlfriend bring up this topic while she was taping him. .
And that those who are trying to make this a racism issue such as Magic Johnson may have his own angel and reason for this, such as buying the team at a cheap price. And that the girlfriend set him up

These things have been getting out of hand in the media lately as if they were the only news in America. the same with Bundy, Phil Robertson, case’s etc. It's pathetic how they can smear and destroy a person like the NYSslimes did to Bundy and you all jumped on that like firkin hunger predators...all for what? To show how racist we Republican’s are?
everyone in this country, black, white, pink, etc has some racist-prejudices in them you think you will EVER be able to stop without jailing people which is what you libs and President is now pushing is sick, why is he commenting about a private matter all the way from Asia?

  32. Charles Barkley the racist jerk, said that “The Nba Is a "Black League" It's Time the Minority Had Some Representation, and That Jackass Sterling Needs to Go, ‘We Are a Black League"

So much for Love, Peace and Harmony!

  33. In the aftermath of comments made by racist LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling, the NBA is investigating the situation and looking for a way to get him out of the league.
But there is a easy and faster way to get him out, Just have Shaw Kenawe start a Protest and a Boycott.

  34. The Democratic Party with it's entitlements has done more to enslave people than slave owners did. Slave owners let you work off your freedom. The democratic plantation programs keeps you there for life. Just keep voting democratic blacks, and maybe in another 150 years you'll wake up..

  35. Kelo was interesting because it seems the government just wanted to prove they COULD take the property. I don't think it was ever used as proposed was it?

    Right Truth

  36. Warning: If you are pissed off easily, if you're really angry about what the PC Police are doing to this country!, Don't read this post

So the news is in, Clippers owner Donald Sterling was banned for life by the NBA, also fined $2.5 million dollars and can never enter the stadium again for the rest of his life.
So much for Free Speech in the USA.
So, in other words, if he had the guts to express how he felt, and said what he felt. He get a worse sentence than some guy who punches you in your face as you walk donw the street because he’s bored and is playing a “Game”
But if your Black, you can say whatever the hell you want to!

    1. Some of the information in this article was new to me as I do not follow basketball: What you should know about V. Stiviano. Brief excerpt:

In a statement Saturday, Clippers President Andy Roeser noted that the woman in the audio is accused of embezzling more than $1.8 million.

    2. In the immortal words of the former Mayor of Washington DC, Marion Barry on his way to jail, "B*tch set me up!"

Polluted threads are noxious. Just like a garden overrun with weeds.

    1. I suppose that "the news of the day" is the punishment that Donald Sterling has now received.

  39. This is another example in which the Left has been allowed to redefine the terms. The BLM's charge to administer the land has morphed to ownership, though their original mandate has not changed. The BLM is only authorized to administer and manage the land on behalf of the people, the true and sole owners. The Constitution is quite clear on what land the Federal Government can actually and that is an area of land not exceed 10 square miles upon which the building to house the governmental functions are to be built. We call it Washington, D.C. The Federal Government is further authorized to acquire lands in the various states for the construction of military forts/bases for the period of time it deems the facilities necessary.

All the land we think belongs to the Federal Government, does not. Neither does it belong to the various States. It belongs wholly and solely to the American people and held in trust by the Federal Government for the benefit of the current generations and posterity.

    1. Indigo,
Why are WE THE PEOPLE allowed the Left to take control of the definitions of the terminology and seize property instead of holding that property in trust? In part, because the courts have allowed this. Who appointed those judges?
