Musical Interlude

(If you must have politics, please scroll down. Yesterday, I posted a Nincompoopery poll, which will close on Tuesday)

Friday morning, the tune below was blasting from our van's radio station to which Mr. AOW and listen when he's on his way to physical therapy.

Crank it up!

Question: In what ways is this tune NOT a break from politics?

Note: lyrics are below the fold:

"Every Breath You Take"

Every breath you take
Every move you make
Every bond you break
Every step you take
I'll be watching you.

Every single day
Every word you say
Every game you play
Every night you stay
I'll be watching you.

Oh can't you see
You belong to me?
How my poor heart aches with every step you take.

Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake
Every claim you stake
I'll be watching you.

Since you've gone I've been lost without a trace.
I dream at night, I can only see your face.
I look around but it's you I can't replace.
I feel so cold, and I long for your embrace.
I keep crying baby, baby please...

Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake
Every claim you stake
I'll be watching you.

Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake
Every claim you stake
I'll be watching you...

  1. Et, tu, AOW? (:-o

What next –– a Rock 'n Roll rendition of the Lord's Prayer?

How about The Bill of Rights set to The Bugaloo Beat?

    The Gettysburg Address?

    The Twenty-Third Psalm?

    Mother Goose?

Sorry! I GET the message, but I have nothing but the bitterest contempt for the Messenger. Ugh!

    1. FT,
What can I say? I have very eclectic tastes in music.

Even so, I don't "approve of" the examples you listed above as set to different musical genres.

I haven't heard "Every Breath You Take" in ages, and hearing it the other day struck me as quite a message. As you said, you get the point. But a few years ago, I wouldn't have had that interpretation at all. Of course, the band (The Police!) didn't intend that message at all. Regardless of how you feel about the music, the information about the band may interest you -- or not.

  3. I would have forwarded this to the crew in Room 101 at Fort George Meade but they're already on to you, I'm sure.
