Big Brother Is Watching

From Bunkerville:

Bunkerville has more in a blog post dated May 30, 2013:
Ribbon-cutting schedule

Invitations have been sent to a select group of Utah politicians and dignitaries inviting them to the Utah Data Center ribbon cutting on May 30. The invitation says the event is unclassified and reporters will be there, but an NSA spokeswoman this week declined to discuss the festivities or say whether the event means the facility will be starting operations. The NSA has previously said the Utah Data Center would be online this fall.

More information HERE. Excerpt:
...“[T]his is more than just a data center,” says one senior intelligence official who until recently was involved with the program. The mammoth Bluffdale center will have another important and far more secret role that until now has gone unrevealed. It is also critical, he says, for breaking codes. And code-breaking is crucial, because much of the data that the center will handle—financial information, stock transactions, business deals, foreign military and diplomatic secrets, legal documents, confidential personal communications—will be heavily encrypted. According to another top official also involved with the program, the NSA made an enormous breakthrough several years ago in its ability to cryptanalyze, or break, unfathomably complex encryption systems employed by not only governments around the world but also many average computer users in the US. The upshot, according to this official: “Everybody’s a target; everybody with communication is a target.”...
As Gateway Pundit points out:
Who can forget when Maxine Waters praised Obama’s legacy of a “database that no one has ever seen before in life… that’s going to be very very powerful. And that database will have information about everything on every individual in ways that it has never been done before.”

We do indeed live in Orwellian times.

  2. Increasingly our lives are less private than they were before all the technology clouds came along. Unless we make some fundamental changes in our government, big bother is only going to get stronger. Frankly, I don't see that happening anytime soon.

BTW all of my computers have always been named Hal.

  3. This sort of thing usually starts as an EXPEDIENT solution to a CURRENT pressing problem -- i.e. someone's not-very-bright-idea of a way to make us "safer," "fairer," "kinder," "better behaved" and even "richer" but always richer as a COUNTRY than as a large body of free, independent INDIVIDUALS each able to use his talents and native intelligence to chart his own course through life.

The Marxian-Liberal-Progressive-Socialist-Statists should be madly in love with the CLOSELY-MONITORED, SAFETY-FIRST, MICRO-MANAGED SOCIETY.

It never ceases to amuse and amaze me the way those who oppose conservative principles remain blissfully unaware of the pitfalls in their policies and the innately despotic nature of the methods they endorse.

Perhaps they are unaware of the wisdom in this ancient proverb?

SIN IN HASTE, REPENT AT LEISURE.

  4. Give it a rest, FT.

This crap has been with us for some time and the fringe right certainly doesn't have clean hands, McCarthy, Cointelpro. The right is dirty as sin.

Nothing this country wants less than independent creative citizens.

Got me copy of Paul Goodman's, Growing Up Absurd today. Some real good stuff has been coming back in print lately.
Now there's a book some parent should suggest for AOW's class.

  6. Duck,
If you had bothered to click on the link to Bunkerville's site, you would have read the following:

Three NSA whistleblowers—including William Binney—agreed to provide evidence that the NSA has been running a domestic spying program since 2001.

Oh, and one more thing...It is not your prerogative to tell FT, Give it a rest, at my blog site.

  7. Thanks for the link. For the life of me I cannot understand why there are not hearings on this, and why so many are silent about this.

  8. There is very little privacy any more. Most emails are scanned for key words anyway by advertisers. If they can do that they can scan for anything. Many people have no idea.

Except that McCarthy was absolutely correct, and nowhere is there greater proof of this than Ducky, who is a radical communist thug.

  10. Our privacy and our constitutional rights are being stripped away and so many people either don't care or have their heads buried in the sand.

This is the reality we live in. The government can tap into our Facebook accounts, our cell phones, land lines, etc.

Privacy is a thing of the past.

  11. The government was able to do this by making Americans afraid of some unseen enemy. Now ask yourselves, America ... was it worth it? Did giving up your rights as citizens save anyone in Boston?

    Chumps.

  12. Ducky, what is it about McCarthy that bothers you? As Mustang says he was right and the proof of that pudding is identifying highly placed communists in the FDR administration. Was he wrong for doing that?

His big mistake was not realizing that they were deliberately placed there by some even more powerful people in shadowy and equally high places, those people also controlled the press. So McCarthy like others before him who attempted to identify and inform the country of this high treason were systematically destroyed by their associates in the media of the day.

Think much has changed over the years?

I don't believe most individual citizens of America or most Western countries would knowingly and willingly embrace the Big Brother slave system of the new imperial feudalism which is evidently inching closer to completion, even as we speak.
