41st Wedding Anniversary
I have to tutor for a few hours this morning. Mr. AOW will be sleeping in because he has the day off from occupational therapy.
Later in the day, Mr. AOW and I are going out to one of our favorite restaurants.
No big splurge on this day, the actual date of our anniversary, because in August we'll be going on a week's vacation at a classy resort — our first vacation since 2007.

ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary, my good neighbors,
A couple with a conscience and a heart.
Put down your burdens; cease all heavy labors;
Put up your feet. The party soon will start.
You’ve earned a break, a restful change of pace.
Before you pleasing prospects should expand.
It’s time to smell the flowers, leave the race,
Relax, enjoy the wonders close at hand.
Try an unashamed pursuit of pleasure.
Hope you’ll get what you have long deserved ––
Delight and deep contentment beyond measure
After all the years you both have served.
You mustn’t feel you need to act your age.
TO YOUR MARRIAGE now, we dedicate this page.
With thanks and fond regards,
~ FreeThinke

ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteMany people have been married 41 years.
Just not to each other.
Take what everyone has said (except Odie) and double that -- no, make that TRIPLE that -- for me!
ReplyDeleteFantastic! Happy anniversary to you both!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Happy anniversary to the Always On Watcheses.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, AOW! Forty-one years is a good thing, and shows you have lots of character. My bride and I will have been married 46 years in August. Celebrating is one of those things that we don't plan until the last minute. Just being awake after sun-down is a big thing around there :-)
ReplyDeleteHow very, very good!
ReplyDeleteBest to you both.
Love this blog!

THANKS, ALL!
ReplyDeleteMr. AOW and I feasted at Ruby Tuesday's last night: hickory-bourbon salmon steak for me, barbecued ribs for Mr. AOW.
Bob,
ReplyDeleteJust being awake after sun-down is a big thing...
I know what you mean!
I need to get up very early in the morning just to be ready in time to go to work. Gone are the days when I could rise and shine! I need time!
Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. AOW.
ReplyDeleteMy wife and I just celebrated our 37th anniversary.

Tammy & Debbie,
ReplyDeleteMarriage isn't easy. Too few couples really give it a "fair" try.
A friend of mine who celebrated her 50 years of marriage to her military-officer husband once said to me, "I should be getting a combat medal." She was not speaking literally, of course.
