Kaylee McGhee White writes in the Examiner that Biden's Agenda is Dead.  That's debatable, but she makes some good points.  After the Democrats' Tuesday night drubbing, she asks...

Why, then, would any centrist Democrat go out on a limb to support him and his $1.75 trillion-plus budget "reconciliation" framework?

This leftwing slush fund was already on thin ice.  Democrat are fighting with themselves over nothing more than a raw political exercise.  What's in the bill?  What's out? For how many years?  

What do they want to accomplish? Even Democrats don't know, or it changes based on the latest negotiation.  At this point, the progressive caucus are children screaming in a store because Daddy Joe and Mommy Kyrsten won't buy them that bicycle, the other kids are frantic, and Grandpa Joe and Grandma Nancy are trying to bargain them down to a less expensive toy.

Most Americans don't know what is in the bill...

Although a majority (55%) of the public is following news about the negotiations at least somewhat closely, about 7 in 10 (69%) Americans said they know just some or little to nothing about what's in both bills. (ABC News)

Most Americans are not cheering for this bill's passing...

The ABC News/Ipsos poll, which was conducted using Ipsos' KnowledgePanel, found that a plurality (32%) of Americans think the bills would hurt people like them if they became law, while fewer (25%) think it would help them.

Even among Democrats alone, fewer than half (47%) think the two bills would help people like them. (ABC News)

So, why are Democrats desperate to pass something, anything?  

The answer is, raw, naked power.  Elected officials and unelected bureaucrats have lost the telos.  They view their actions as their own ends.  Diplomats and foreign policy types think holding talks and reaching meaningless, unenforceable "deals" are accomplishments.  Congresspeople and Senators see legislation as an accomplishment within itself, and who gives a hoot about unintended consequences.

Our federal government is a gargantuan shambolic cyclops eating trillions of dollars and crapping lead boulders, destroying everything and everyone in its path.  I have no idea how We The People ever get this under control, but Tuesday just might be a start.

I know that many of you don't care to watch Tucker Carlson regularly.  You and I disagree there: I try to watch every night — especially the opening segment.  In my view, Tucker Carlson offers some matters to consider or offers a different insights about certain matters you have already considered.

Yes, people on the left really are crazy.  Many on the left "ignore the science" and continue to wear masks even after getting vaccinated, and they suffer more psychosis and authoritarian tendencies.  Privileged white racists aren't performing enough hate crimes, so leftwing activists have to make them up.  By the hundreds.

People like the poor cracked woman quoted below provide a window into the hysteria-fueled progressive psyche.  She is clearly driven by irrational fear and loathing.  She performs the all-too-human act of projecting her bugaboos onto those she doesn't like and she ascribes motives with zero evidence. I pity her.

New York Times editorial board Mara Gay told MSNBC's "Morning Joe" that she was disturbed to see pickup trucks with "dozens of American flags" and Trump paraphernalia during a recent trip to Long Island.

"I was on Long Island this weekend," she said. "And I was really disturbed."

"I saw, you know, dozens and dozens of pickup trucks with expletives against Joe Biden on the back of them, Trump flags, and in some cases, just dozens of American flags, which is also just disturbing, which essentially the message was clear, this is my country. This is not your country. I own this."

Biden is proof of that — he and the tens of millions of people who subscribe to the foolish arguments of the new left. A new America will arise from this chaos: one whose flag will have a hammer and sickle in one corner and a raised black fist in the other. Welcome to the new Kenya, folks. The inmates have taken over the asylum. 

Is Mustang correct in his assertions, particularly that there is no hope for the future of our republic? And if there is hope to counter what Mustang informs us has taken place, how exactly can we bring that hope to fruition?

Dysphoria

I am suffering a dysphoria.  I don't know what is going on and I can't make logical sense of it.  I can abide someone or something being good, bad, left, right, mean, ugly, whatever, but illogic drives me crazy. 

Were intelligence agencies and federal law enforcement really spying on the Trump campaign?  Did they really do this as a pretext to keep spies on the inside of his administration?   Looks like. 

Has our press really gone over the edge and into full-blown progressive propaganda?  Ample evidence says so. 

The entire transcript is out there for Trump's "fine people on both sides" comment, where he specifically excluded the racists and neo-nazis, yet the press continues blaring out the lie that he called racist white supremacists "fine people."  What more can we do?

Is our society--independent of government--devolving into a self-policing totalitarianism?  I think so.

Have the Silicon Valley World Controllers established a government-outsourced Ministry of Truth that can do what the government itself cannot:  Silence US citizens?  Yes indeed.

I have been saying for years our nation is heading down a very bad, dangerous road, and we're seeing it now.  Putting people on notice, Maoist struggle sessions or auto-da-fé for the guilty, forcing people to repeat phrases from the Little Red Book, silencing, censoring, de-platforming, un-hosting, doxxing people, getting them fired from their jobs...  

Lean Gulag

We are living the rudimentary beginnings of a Chinese-style social credit system, enforced not by a tyrannical government, but by tyrannical fellow citizens.

We are in an ugly place.  Russian émigré Anna Khachiyan off-handedly called it "Lean Gulag."  "Lean" being a business term for an operation like manufacturing without all the warehouses and heavy machinery, and I think she nailed it.  

Nowadays, governments don't have to march people off to the gulags.  Now, we gulag people in place, encircling, impoverishing and silencing them within an ever-shrinking space where you're still granted the "freedom to say two plus two make four," but no one hears you.

We are suffering a weaponized Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy inflicted upon us by unhappy, corroded-soul government overlords at the local, county, state and federal level, egged on by the Infotainment Media Complex.

It started innocently enough years ago, with them nagging us to save the environment by reducing our carbon footprint; preaching cleanses and purges of various bodily organs, orifices and passages; exhorting us with vapid "spiritual" nostrums and feel-good nonsense they come up with in a vain attempt to fill their God hole.

Those petty despots scolding us and ordering us around are fundamentally unhappy people, and they are pouncing on this opportunity to destroy the happiness of others. Their greek chorus of the proletariat are fundamentally fearful--of the unknown, others, themselves, whatever--and they are spreading that fear to millions of others, and what a thin balm it must be to their troubled psyches.

Community Cluster Funk

Socioclasts channeling their internal Woodrow Wilson see their big opportunity to remake the messy, chaotic American landscape, knock it down, destroy the foundations and start all over:  They want to redesign your pathetic, selfish, random life, to include establishing permanent perimeters around each individual, tracking our movements and contacts, redesigning our public spaces, and regulating your private life, to include approving the friends and family you respectfully request to include in your lockdown bubbles and social clusters.

Because We Say So

Ordering everyone in the nation to wear a face covering and huff their own carbon dioxide (except under very narrow circumstances) is an absurdity, especially when outdoors. Are the Standard Bearers of Science taking us back to the discredited miasma theory?  The purpose of a mask it to prevent you from spraying droplets at others when coughing or sneezing.  It would make more sense to tell everyone to carry a hanky and if you have to cough or sneeze, to do so in the hanky, you know, like you grandparents did.

Lab Rats

The scientists and medical experts admonishing us to cower in our homes, are throwing all “abundance of caution” to the wind in order to recklessly deliver a Covid-19 vaccine on dangerously shortened timeline of 12-18 months, when the usual, safety-conscious process takes five to 15 years.

Bonus Question

How does surfing or swimming in the ocean spread the virus and endanger the community? This is like a bizzaro version of the old movie Footloose, but instead of Concerned Local Authorities banning dancing because it might lead to sex, they are banning surfing because it may lead to people gathering and socializing and having FUN.

Looks like, the three ring circus formerly known as "The United States House of Representatives", is all set to pass a new War Powers Resolution that would, supposedly, limit President Trump's military actions toward Iran.

It would seem that the Democrats have "serious, urgent concerns about the administration's decision to engage in hostilities against Iran and about its lack of strategy moving forward." Unlike 'Silly Billy Clinton' who bombed the crap out of an aspirin factory and killed a nightwatchman and President 'I Won' who destabilized Libia and in a separate instance killed an American Citizen.

 According to The Council on Foreign Relations
"The 542 drone strikes that Obama authorized killed an estimated 3,797 people, including 324 civilians. As Obama reportedly told senior aides in 2011; "Turns out I’m really good at killing people. Didn’t know that was gonna be a strong suit of mine."

Of course, Democrats are always quick to make meaningless and toothless resolutions. Make no mistake about this resolution, it's figuratively and literally,  toothless as is the present Speaker of the House, whine box Nancy. -aka, wine box Nancy-

 Note that this will be a "concurrent" resolution – a legislative maneuver that is  not submitted to the president and does not have the force of law. (How friggin brave can you get. /sarc)

Mattress Girl regains her sanity:

My view of our nation's future has turned dark and cynical, but I am always on the lookout for rays of hope, and they are out there, among millennials and post-millennials, of all people.  (Children really are, to quote that vapid leftwing tautology, the future.)

When the media's gaze is upon you, it’s difficult to change your mind.

This week, New York magazine’s The Cut published an article titled, “Did Emma Sulkowicz Get Redpilled?” The story chronicles the political awakening of 27-year-old Sulkowicz, who became famous in 2014 for dragging her mattress around Columbia University’s campus to protest the university’s handling of her alleged sexual assault.

The act of performance art, dubbed Mattress Performance (Carry That Weight), became a flash point for a national conversation about campus sexual assault. Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand of New York even invited her to the State of the Union address in 2015.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. If anything can save post-modern America, it is libertarianism...

And what about her posture has changed? She now listens to Jordan Peterson. She attended Reason writer Robby Soave’s book party for Panic Attack: Young Radicals in the Age of Trump. In the book, Soave writes critically of Sulkowicz.

Her own words:

“As I became more and more feminist,” she said, “I think I got to a point where I was literally just straight up hating men. I just hated men, I wished all men would die.”

Now she wants to listen to their perspective — not just men, but others she has disagreed with.

The most remarkable part of the story, though perhaps not the most surprising, is that Sulkowicz says she didn't even know a conservative until last year.

Progressive Academia has morphed into a post-modern Ministry of Truth, indoctrinating everyone into parroting 2+2=5, but the human mind cannot be chained forever.  Progressive "historical arcs" be damned.  The human spirit will always bend toward freedom and liberty.
