The Cult Of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

[source]
On the heels of the Cult of Obama, we have another budding cult... Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's campaign shoes to be showcased in historical exhibit:
...The New York congresswoman-elect’s first pair of campaign trail shoes are being loaned out to the Cornell Costume Collection exhibit for those who want to witness what “hard work” looks like.

The exhibit – titled “WOMEN EMPOWERED: Fashions from the Frontline,” is set to debut on December 6 and summonses women to share special articles of clothing that have empowered them in the past. Other featured items include the inaugural suit worn by Texas governor Ann Richards and collars from Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg among many other pieces of history....

[...]

The Collection thanked Ocasio-Cortez Wednesday in a social media post and commended her on “determination and dedication”

“We can’t think of a better example of fashion from the frontline: U.S. Representative-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York’s 14th district has loaned us her first pair of campaigning shoes,” the Collection wrote on Instagram....

    1. Well, I do blame her. In my view, she is willfully ignorant.

She spouts dangerous nonsense. And she has many young, voting age followers.

    2. I would insist that any capacity she might have had for developing independent, critical thinking was neutralized and taken away from her by the relentless process of crypto-Marxist cinditiining to which she's dobtless been subjected since she entered Kindergarten, if not before.

Once you've been BRAINWASHED, you really are NOT responsible for what you say and do thereafter.

I see this whole issue of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as a harsh indictment of our EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM.

Such a disgusting phnomenon would not have been possible when I went to school in the late 1940's and into the beginnbg of the 1960's just before the world went raving mad right after i graduated from college (1963).

    3. Franco,
I see this whole issue of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as a harsh indictment of our EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM.

      Of course.

But she can read and should do so so as to learn the truth instead of the tripe she believes and spouts.

the beginnbg of the 1960's just before the world went raving mad

I attended college during that period (1968-1973): a college of the University of Virginia. Yet, I managed to prevent having my brain sucked out. Of course, I had a good foundation from private education and from my parents before I encountered the post-secondary loons.

  2. And in between we suffer The Cult of Trump. A cult of mendacity and irrationality Unlike anything we've seen since Nixon and Watergate.

President Trump has you leftwing nutballs on a runaway train to Batshiteville. Hilarious! #WINNING!

    1. Her inability to articulate basic economic principles and her lack of rudimentary math skills reflects poorly on Boston University.

    2. ...yeah, but she minored in Virtue Signalling, which is the summa qua non of Democrat politics.

    3. Like most of academia these days BU is obviously just another one of far too many hotbeds of Marxian Sedition that regrettably pass for "higher education."

      PITIFUL!

    1. Bunuel was a surrealist who filmed Un Chien Angelou w/Dali. From what I've read of the Wiki review, I suspect it has to do with "virtue signaling" and associated unintended consequences... but I'll let ducky speak for himself.

    2. Viridiana is not only a distillation of Bunuel's thoughts on virtue signaling but the male lead is also a foot fetishist.
      A two base hit.

Some think it's his best film. I would give that to The Exterminating Angel but there's no denying its strengths. You'd enjoy it.

  5. Much wailing and gnashing of teeth over nothing

This seems like a sensible item for the show.
More interesting is the rightwing fascination with Octavio-Cortez.

  6. The tiny but noisy socialist vanguard is a harbinger of more to come, I think. Socialism is an easy sell, free stuff for everybody...

As a bonus, the giddy frisson of virtue signalling mixed with Maoist iconoclasm is even better than a pot edible.

Unfortunately, Republicans have nothing with which to rebut this discredited nonsense, thanks to them having decades ago abandoned small government fiscal conservatism.

If government's going to blow money, why not blow it on the people!!!

  7. AOC doesn’t fascinate me but she is certainly a poster child for the American leftist educational system.

Er, I mean, holy crap I hope the Democrats never run her for President. ;)

    1. Noel Coward said, "Any fool can say something bright every now and then, but takes a REALLY bright man to be able to REMEMBER bright things OTHERS have said, and repeat them later at appropriate times."

So you may take that as personal praise from a perfect stranger, Beamish.

I can't remember whole pages of a book, but I always seem to remember where something was in a book (a third of the way in, left side, two paragraphs down, for example.)

  9. Throw in the other cult of Sarsour. Equally as disturbing and a harbinger of what is to come. Cortez at least comes off as a "Valley Girl"

  10. Sen. Lindsey Graham slammed newly elected New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for comparing Central American asylum seekers in the migrant caravan to Jews fleeing Nazi Germany during WWII.

“I recommend she take a tour of the Holocaust Museum in DC,” Graham, a Republican from South Carolina, tweeted Monday. “Might help her better understand the differences between the Holocaust and the caravan in Tijuana.”

  12. GM should offer Socialist Democrats a lesson:

Obama's multi-billion dollar bailout worked great for GM... Until they ran out of other people's money...

    1. Or GM sees the future a good deal better than a dunce like tRump.

Instead of just ignoring future technologies and trying to stay fat building SUV's GM is trying to get out in front of the change and prevent the need for a bailout if they get behind the technology curve.

Or you can try useless bromides.

    2. They built battery-powered shitboxes to dance for the money O'Bungle dangled. The Dolt is dead and GM is redirecting resources to build MORE trucks and SUVs

Lesson: If you want to make money, government is the touch of death.

    3. We seem to have different views of the market direction (Chevy has dropped hybrids but is producing fully electric vehicles) but we both agree that this is about GM responding to its reading of the market which you surely don't disapprove and has nothing to do with the bailout.

tRump is really displaying leadership, however.

    4. Yes, they are responding to market forces, just like at the beginning of Professor O'Bungle's term, they danced for government dollars.

Boosh and Obummer should have let the failures fail, eat their losses, or sell them 10 cents on the dollar.

Meanwhile, individual Dems can go as nutty as they wanna be, so long as octogenarian white millionaires and billionaires continue to control the party and keep the party's billionaire robber baron benefactors soothed and placated.

The next two decades should be fun. How quickly will the progressives lose patience with the dissidents, the "deniers," "gun clingers," and bigoted Bible thumpers?

How far will progressives go to cudgel a large recalcitrant minority into compliance?

    3. The REAL question, I think, is "How long will it take before the vast ranks of the SILENT MAJORITY of AUTHENTIC Americans to RISE UP and start SLASHING and BASHING, and BLUDGEONING, and BURNING, and BOMBING and MACHINE GUNNING the would-be TYRANT OPPRESSORS on the MARXIAN LEFT into piss-soaked ashes and bloody soot beneath the feet of those totally FED UP with the ruthless, relentless REIGN of the INSANE?"

The SPIRIT of '76 is not dead. It just lies dormant in the hearts of all who love and long for LIBERTY as understood by our FOUNDERS.

Patrick Henry was not insane when he cried, "GIVE ME LIBERTY, or GIVE ME DEATH."

Like the ancient Romans we've been lulled into the acceptance of thralldom by Bread and Circuses –– i.e. too much material comfort and the availability of superabundance of cheap thrills.

I don't seem to see THIS power woman represented in that article, the ONE who said "If you want something said, ask a man. If you want something done, ask a woman." The indomitable Iron Lady herself. Will they feature anything - perhaps this power suit from her last Prime Minister's questions? https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-34256192 (scroll 2/3 ways down)
