Traditionally, Labor Day weekend marks the end of summer.
To mark the traditional end of the season, here is "Summer" from Antonio Vivaldi's The Four Seasons:
Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend! Here's weather that allows for good grilling and some outdoor fun.

ReplyDeleteLook well upon the men who dig in mines,
And work machines in mills and factories grim.
Be aware that those who tend the vines
Or till the soil give much for wages slim.
Reaping sowing, weeding, hoeing make
Full the nation’s store of nutriment.
Overland the burly truckers take
Rich provisions and accoutrement
Coast to coast. The teamsters load and haul
Enormous hordes of stuff that we’ve empowered,
Shipped in freighters, stored in silos tall,
Delivered, well-displayed, and then devoured.
Awards are due the goods and who supplies them,
Yet the wise despise the guys who advertise them.

Thank you for the Vivaldi AOW. His music is always so full of pulsing energy it never fails to make you want to get up and get moving. He's one of few who could manage to REJOICE in MINOR KEYS.
ReplyDeleteLovely picture and break. I've been enjoying the music twice while posting over at Ms. Z's. :) I hope you and Mr, AOW have a smooth and comfortable weekend together. Blessings.
ReplyDeleteBaysider,
DeleteGlad that you've enjoyed this musical selection. It's one of my personal favorites.
Best wishes for an enjoyable holiday. Another fine choice of music!
