What You See...

...may not be what you get. When it comes to premiums quote on the ObamaCare web site, that is.

The CBS News video "ObamaCare Website Dramatically Underestimating Costs For Consumers":

  3. Misleading consumers is what the ACA has done from its very beginning. But, shhhh … don’t say anything to Obama cultists. I want to see the surprise on their ignorant faces.

    1. Sam,
The truth is seeping out. Please see this post over at Debbie's site. The first link in that post: CNN’s David Frum Gets Insurance Cancelled, Finds Obamacare Neither Adorable Or Affordable.

Maybe there is justice in the world after all!

    2. I'm so glad. David Frum was always a hateful, snivelling, gap-toothed little neocon -- a fake conservative always ready, willing, able and eager to compromise with the devil.

The Neocons were a modern Trojan Horse.

  4. The administrations lies are not going to work this time. They can't hide the higher premiums and higher deductibles for very long.

    1. Unfortunately, the damage has already been done. They passed it before they knew what was in it.

I always knew it was a piñada chock full of poison pills. Why didn't they? --- Or DID they?

  5. Now that some of the media type folks are getting gored, a bright light is starting to shine in the back corners of their mind box. Hope you are continuing to feel better. Thinking of you.

  6. I wish I could tell you that I have confidence that our federal government will do the right thing; I cannot tell you that. Instead, no matter which administration holds the reigns of power, what we can expect is agenda-driven decisions, and to hell with what is really best for the American people. I don’t trust our government; it would not surprise me if Obama, realizing what a disaster this is, doesn’t step in and nationalize healthcare. Everyone of those communists are aching for a single-payer system, and this would give them the excuse to ram it down our throats—but for the good of the people, of course.

    1. Mais, ca va sans dire, mon cher Jacques! C'etait toujours le cas obviousement. Nous ne sommes pas aveugles. Aussi, nous ne somme pas betes. Mais maintenant, nous n'avons que besoin de secours du bon Dieu.

    2. Jack said "Obama, realizing what a disaster this is, doesn’t step in and nationalize healthcare." You might be on to something Jack. Since most of the people visiting the ObamaCare web site are actually signing up for Medicaid Obama may achieve his single payer nightmare by default.

Single Payer, or Medicaid for all, will destroy the vitality and creativity of American health care. We'll end up like the National Health Service in Britain and the horror stories about that are unending.

  8. My, my, my: Incoming from Democrats:

"Dem Party is F****d." That was the subject line of an email sent to me Sunday by a senior Democratic consultant with strong ties to the White House and Capitol Hill. The body of the email contained a link to this Los Angeles Times story about Obamacare "sticker shock:"

"These middle-class consumers are staring at hefty increases on their insurance bills as the overhaul remakes the healthcare market. Their rates are rising in large part to help offset the higher costs of covering sicker, poorer people who have been shut out of the system for years."

"Although recent criticism of the healthcare law has focused on website glitches and early enrollment snags, experts say sharp price increases for individual policies have the greatest potential to erode public support for President Obama's signature legislation."...

  10. I used to know the meaning of the word “glitch,” but in the administration’s explanation of what a disaster ACA has become, I’m not sure I do know what the word means. Surely the release of personal information to unauthorized persons can’t be a mere glitch, can it? But as to the supposition that the Communist Party is screwed, I’m not convinced of this. I’m sure they will be able to once again raise the dead to vote in the 2014 congressional elections, the circumstances of which always produce miraculous outcomes.

    1. Glitch! Well it rhymes with rich, stitch, witch, niche, itch, and of course bitch,

I feel a limerick coming on, but it's not quite there yet.

      Maybe some other time?

      Oh wait! HERE ya go:

      Obamacare's worse than a glitch
It's designed to damage the rich
      It has thousands of pages
      That fail to engage us,
And frustrates us all. What a bitch!

      In haste,

      FT

  11. Sam,

"Misleading consumers is what the ACA has done from its very beginning."

Yes, after its architect succeeded in "misleading" the gullible among us, TWICE! What a situation we find ourselves in; outnumbered by gullible, "low information" voters and lead by an Orwellian, socialist ideologue. Now, make way for Hillary!

    1. Duck,
Thank you for asking. I appreciate it.

I have nearly 2/3 of the field of vision in the operated eye. The vision isn't 20/20, but it is much better than 20/200 and certainly correctable to much better (I've done the pinhole test here at home).

Double vision has resolved for the most part, and my eye is now making its own tears part of the time. So, fewer applications of artificial tears now. Hurray! Thank God that FT told me about "Refresh" drops; they have made a huge difference in my comfort level.

I still have quite a bit of pain and foreign body sensation as well as dry eye. And so much fatigue! Probably because the operated eye has always been my dominant eye.

I will be probably be having several "procedures" over the next several months -- one of them likely another operation to replace the dislocated IOL placed during my 1984 cataract surgery. I'm not sure, but I think that the IOL has slipped into "the sunset position." It's much like the sensation one has when a hard contact lens slips below the iris.

My next appointment with the retinal surgeon is a week from today, and I should get more information then.

  14. Misleading... Lying to....

Obama and his minions lied, no other way to put it.

But will the sticker shock be enough to turn his faithful?

  15. What's really unusual about some of the mainstream media coverage here is that they are also running the clips of Obama's promises that if you like your plan/doctor you can keep it and you'll save money. This may be the first time they've held Obama accountable to the same standard they would INSTANTLY of any Republican president. How long will it last?

    1. Mike,

Perhaps long enough to have an effect on the November 2014 elections.

  16. P.S. why does my name always display those other odd characters?

    1. Because AOW changed to this excellent new format that allows us to talk directly to one another, Mike. HOWEVER< that particular program -- and many others too -- will not permit the use of a simple apostophe.

SO, if you want it to look better, you will have to alter your identifier, to avoid the problem. Ducky did -- at my suggestion, though I doubt he'd admit that ;-) -- and his handle looks much better now, even if it is grammatically incorrect.

How about using MikesAmerica? It's "wrong" but it would look much better.

Or: MY America by MIKE, if it will accept that many characters?

      My two cents ...

    2. Free: My blog is titled Mike's America and it's the comment name I use across the blogosphere. You might be right that omitting the apostrophe would help but that doesn't seem to be an option in the "reply as" box below. Perhaps if I created a new profile that I only use here.

Maybe I'll just have to endure the shame of those extraneous characters. Does it look like I am swearing all the time? Things in this country are pretty @#$@'d up!

  17. Finally someone in the MSM does say something negative bout Obama, ... don't worry, somehow, it will be mitigated. By election time, it will be old news.

  18. I can only speak on my behalf - and I could give a shit, excuse me I meant to say "crap" about the shutdown in fact I'm applauding the fact that Obama's Website don't work., Because we are $17 trillion in debt. The spending must stop... And he goes out and spends another $634 million on a website built by Canadians that don't even work. ..

It must be Bush's fault... It's the Republican's fault... It’s the Tea Parties fault.. It's the American citizen's fault... It certainly cannot be the President's fault because he told us this would be utopia. Someone sabotaged the site. The President didn't know about the "glitches" ... I'm sure I could come up with a host of other excuses, I know that HE could!

Now we just need to shut the rest of it down

  19. The Hypocrite Michelle Obama Lover at the Progressive Erection blogsite, posted a bunch of pictures of the First Wookie either knowing or not knowing that they ALL were either digitally altered, or completely Air-Brusred to make her look good. And believe me that was a lot of work.
But as the Air Brush artist said “No amount of airbrushing can conceal Mrs. Obama’s Marxist nastiness.
