Immigration Truth

(hat tip to Larwyn's Linx for the video below)

I know several immigrants — legal and illegal — who are wonderful people of excellent character and a laudable work ethic. You likely can make the same observation about immigrants whom you encounter.

However, the chilling video below should make us realize that political activism appearing humanitarian and socially just in the short term may well be something else entirely in the long term. The speaker, immigration activist Eliseo Medina, has connections with the SEIU, the Communist Party USA, and the Democratic Socialist Party:

Some text from the video:
So I think there’s two things that matter for the progressive community. Number one, if we are to expand this electorate to win, the progressive community needs to solidly be on the side of immigrants, that we’ll expand and solidify the progressive coalition for the future…

When you are in the middle of a fight for your life you will remember who was there with you. And immigrants count on progressives to be able to do that.

Number two. “We reform the immigration laws, it puts 12 million people on the path to citizenship and eventually voters”. Can you imagine if we have, even the same ratio, two out of three? If we have eight million new voters who care about …… and will be voting. We will be creating a governing coalition for the long term, not just for an election cycle…
How many Congress critters are aware of the above? How many Congress critters CARE?

  1. Romney was right 47% of Americans receive some kind of gov support, this is in my opinion the real number of Obama voters, increase the immigrants and he (Dems) will increase their voters number.

This is the blunt truth of the matter.

  2. The same comment applies equally to both posts today. Here's what happening:

Our whole society is being raped, pillaged, and slowly poisoned to death by highly incompatible foreign influences deliberately brought here, then aided and abetted by liberals.

It's all part of a Master Plan to destroy White Christian Civilization -- a phenomenon liberals have persuaded themselves to believe is The Greatest Evil That Ever Held Sway On Earth.

    LIBERALISM is SUICIDISM.

Through accepting the unacceptable and tolerating the intolerable, what-used-to-be "WE" is being simultaneously suffocated with a false sense of guilt and shame, and worn down by attrition.

    It happened to Egypt

    It happened to Babylon

    It happened to Athens

    It happened to Rome

    It happened to Britain

It is happening to US right this minute.

Only the Jews survive and remain themselves.

    All Democrats.

    "How many Congress critters CARE?"

On the Republican side, two or three.

  4. Of course this amnesty push is nothing but pure politics. That's obvious. It's also obvious that Democrats telling us that unless we support immigration reform we will become a minority party are NOT trying to do us a favor. It's simply astounding that anyone in the GOP would be suckered by this but no one ever suggested GOP elected leaders were smarter than their voters.

I won't forget Sen. John McCain telling me personally in 2007 that he had learned his lesson on immigration and he understood that border security had to come first. Now, he's at the center of the GANG pushing amnesty now, border security maybe.

I don't have ANY faith that the current Senate Bill, even with tougher border security measures, will EFFECTIVELY address the problem of border security. Even the best written bill can be ignored by Obama or subverted.

P.S. Even if Romney won 70% of the Hispanic vote he would still have lost the 2012 election. Why are we going along with the idea of allowing the Dems to get millions more votes?

  5. Insofar as I am concerned, our immigration policy and law should be predicated on the following. First, an applicant for residency admission to the US must be able to articulate why he or she wants to live in America, become an American. The statement can be written in any language he or she chooses, but it must be carefully read and analyzed by a competent US official. Second, an applicant must possess a skill that is beneficial to the United States of America, and the United States must have a demand for that skill. Otherwise, what is the point of admitting someone who we actually do not need? Now, since 99.999% of all immigrants from Latin America cannot pass either gate, and since not a single person from the Middle East can pass either requirement, there is no legitimate reason to consider anyone from these areas for residency status. No one has a right to immigrate to the United States.

  6. Sam,

I'm with you, I think. As radical as it may sound I think that, in addition to securing all means of ingress into this Country, we should place a moratorium on all in migration until our unemployment situation is rectified. Exceptions could be considered for critical jobs which, unequivocally, cannot be filled domestically. As far as "jobs that Americans won't do" well Americans can and will do them when they can no longer rely on public largess. In addition voter registration requirments should be overhauled to assure that live [citizens] are given the opportunity to exercise what should be considered a privilege predicated on a demonstration of rudimentary knowledge. I would prefer that voters know something of: civics, American history and economic responsibility as opposed to just supporting distributors of free cell phones and other free $#!t. OK, who will be the first to say that none of this will or can happen?

  7. 1. Eliminate WELFARE for the Able-Bodied.

    2. Eliminate the MINIMUM WAGE

    3. Eliminate the INCOME TAX on income less than 50K

    4. Withhold 15% from everyone's wages and put it in a MANDATORY 401K.

    5. Eliminate Income Tax for everyone over 65 including tax on Social Security.

    6. Mandatory Sterilization for all women on Welfare after the second child.

Do those things, and send those rotten THIEVES in Washington, CD packing, and this country would get up and DANCE and SING in the STREETS and SHOUT for JOY.

You want SOCIAL ENGINEERING? Well go on HAVE IT, but make sure it makes SENSE.

  8. FT,

"3. Eliminate the INCOME TAX on income less than 50K"

    Please explain that.

For one thing I thought that was already in place. Perhaps I misunderstand something. Thanks for your usual great stuff. How about the "Flat Tax"?
