Biden DOJ asks judge to go easy on Ivy League firebombers

Colinford Mattis and Urooj Rahman were arrested in the "mostly peaceful" protests following George Floyd's murder. The two lawyers handed out Molotov cocktails to the crowd, and Rahman tossed one into a police car before fleeing the scene in Mattis's van. They reached a plea deal with federal prosecutors in October 2020 that wiped out six of the seven charges against them. Those prosecutors, nonetheless, sought a maximum 10-year sentence and argued that the incident qualified for a so-called terrorism enhancement that would turbocharge sentencing—a determination with which the U.S. Probation Office concurred.

In mid-May, the same career DOJ prosecutors who argued for that 10-year sentence were back in court withdrawing their plea deal and entering a new one that allowed the defendants to cop to the lesser charge of conspiracy. It tosses out the terrorism enhancement entirely.
Good thing they didn't wander into the Capitol on Jan 6th, they'd really be in deep doo doo...

  2. Should the Democratic Party be charged as a Terrorist Organization?
    If not, why not?
    The Highest Ranking person in the Democratic Party Chuck U Schumer stood up on the Supreme Court’s stairs up and ILLEGALLY THREATENS those on the Supreme Court on how to rule on abortion. And especially called out Justice Bret Kavanaugh by name.

    A Democrat then illegally leaks information on how the Supreme Court may rule on abortion.

    A left wing group then illegally makes public the addresses of only the conservative judges on the Supreme Court. Check.
    A left winger goes in to the Home of Justice Bret Kavanaugh armed with a Knife, and a Gun and attempts assassinate Bret Kavanaugh.
    He even went as far as telling the police that he wanted to Kill the Supream Justice
    Now up will now, you could argue that the fringe of the Left is violent and act like Brown shirts, and maybe even argue that Schumer simply used the wrong words as he seemingly threatened their lives.
    They are self-serving, manipulating, scheming,, corrupt, and criminal ... they will call upon their sheep and their domestic terrorist followers to commit acts of intimidation, violence, and terrorism ... but they are also gutless cowards who don't have the balls to perpetrate it themselves.

    They prefer to poke the hornets nest then stand off to the side and watch the chaos and carnage, giving themselves 'plausible deniability' and the opportunity to. blame others for their mess
    However, the Democrat controlled House recently voted to block a measure to help protect those on the Supreme Court after the attempted assassination of Kavanaugh. Also, Schumer refuses to apologize for seemingly calling to arms those on the Left to murder those on the Supreme Court., even after the attempted assassination of a Supreme Court justice. This tells me he is not sorry for the way he came across, and also tells mentally disturbed people prone to violence the same thing. And lastly, it is illegal to protest in front of the houses of the Supreme Court. However, Merrick Garland of the DOJ refuses to enforce federal law. It is explicitly a violation of federal law to protest in front of the home of a judge or a juror. That happened at numerous justices' homes over the last several weeks, yet Merrick Garland still is not pursuing charges against any of them. Merrick is too busy going after parents and parent teacher conferences in schools all across the country to be bothered.
    The DemocRATS, Progressives, Libers, Marxist’s are far worse than the Mafia ever thought about being. The need to be declared a domestic terrorist origination.....Arrests, the stripping of citizenship, and mass deportations should follow.
    When Schiff was caught Lying, Manufacturing False Evidence against a President of the United States he should have been perp-walked in handcuffs out of the Capitol and into Jail.

    When Pelosi publicly admitted to Insider Trading then declared she would stop under certain conditions, she should have immediately been arrested and charged, sent to jail like they did to Martha Stewart
    Oh, and as for the January 6th hearing can be shoved as far up their rectums as humanly possible, and then some

  3. The right-wing propagandists wasted no time pulling that Gorsuch and Kavanaugh (R) Schumer speech from their holsters. Cruz and the R gang took to Twitter and far-right rags went to work.

    But as usual, they and you take out of context and omit what doesn't suit your narrative. The above comment was followed with:

    "The bottom line is very simple. We will stand with the American people. We will stand with American women. We will tell President Trump and Senate Republicans, who have stacked the Court with right-wing ideologues, that you’re going to be gone in November, and you will never be able to do what you’re trying to do now ever, ever again.   4. And It's not just Chuck Schumer..... EVERY Democrat has been out there enabling and justifying illegal activity, which includes protests outside Justice's homes. There is a FEDERAL LAW which prohibits exactly the activity that Democrats encouraged

  5. I have to be careful what I say and how. I've deleted two comments because I do not want the blog owners deleting my comments or SF! I would just like to ask why is anyone taking up the Dems cause? I do not understand why people are so blinded to them. It is as if they have become cultish. It is insane and I refuse to comment to anyone I cannot have civil dialogue with. I am done trying to change peoples minds. If they want to drown, I'll send them a life jacket, but I sure won't jump in anymore.

      I have to be careful what I say and how. I've deleted two comments because I do not want the blog owners deleting my comments...

      I saw the two comments you deleted -- thanks to email notification of comments. They were strong comments, but they would not have caused me to delete them. This blog post is SF's, and he certainly has free rein to delete comments to his posts. But I doubt that he would have deleted those two comments.

      FYI about the way I've rolled here in the blogosphere....

      I have always tried to be measured in my comments and statements here at my blog because my students, past and present, and their parents read this blog. But, believe me, I do quite a bit of venting before I touch fingers to the keyboard.

      I will share with you the below. Forgive me if it sounds preachy. But what you're about to read helped me so much!...

      When I taught in a Christian school for 18 years (1978-1996), our director reminded us at every school term's first faculty meeting as follows:

      A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger (Proverbs 15:1, KJV).

      Our school director -- a redhead and so am I -- had a flash temper of her own and had conquered her temper. I watched her in amazement because, back then, I had one helluva temper.

      PS: Lest you think that our school director was a powder puff, she also said to us, "Don't even think about smiling until November." We had large classes of mostly boys, and classroom discipline was key. Her advice about smiling was good advice.

If all Trump has is a Jack of Tu Quoque Fallacy and an Ace of Whataboutism, the Dems will take all the chips.

    Okay you want to organize this is a constitutional right. All of this ranting and unhinged behavior has me ( a proabortion type) seeing where the actual extremism is. No it is a serious matter subject to restrictions but one can freely travel to a different venue.

    Abort up till childbirth is extremism. If we are talking about severe deformaties yes. However, I would caution where that leads. Ask militant leftists would you support abortion of transgender kids. So they do agree to restricting when expedient.

      Back when I was in college (1968-1972), I was proabortion in the early weeks of pregnancy -- up to the 12th week but no further except in certain cases of severe deformities. These abortions (all before Roe v. Wade and before high-definition sonagrams) were of "a single girl in trouble" type. Each of the women whom I know had ONE abortion. One! And in all those cases, before the 6th week of gestation (no quickening). At that time, having a baby out of wedlock carried a severe stigma -- both social and familial.

      High-definition sonagrams were not available until the mid-1980s.

      FYI...In the 1960s, the only way to test for pregnancy was to make a doctor's appointment, give a urine sample, and wait up to two weeks for the results. Home pregnancy test kits were not available until the 1970s and, even then, were not reliable for some time.

    2. Given the testing protocol, I don't know how you can be sure that they were "before the 6th week".
      I know that in the UK, pregnancies are measured from the expected date of the first missed period, not the actual date of fertilization or implantation or whathaveyou (too difficult to determine). Am I missing something, or doesn't that introduce a few weeks' discrepency when we try to relate the age of the pregnancy to the development of the foetus? Not to mention the fact that some women have irregular periods.

      Because I knew the date of their first missed period. These women were regular as clockwork -- not sure why, but there seems to have been more women regular as clockwork back in those days. Women with irregular periods would/could be another story.

      To my knowledge, no sonagrams were done until pregnancy was confirmed -- and sometimes not even then. A cost issue, I think. And perhaps a parental permission one, too. All the women to whom I referred about were adamant that their parents not know about their pregnancies.
