Oh, Those Sad Faces At MSNBC!

Why are their faces so sad? Because they hadn't yet been given the repeat-these-words-like-parrots directions for the spin on the targeted killing of Qassem Soleimani?

Related reading and worth your time: Qassem Soleimani: Inside the twisted, terrible reign of Iran’s top general by Kenneth A. Timmerman. Excerpt:
...Soleimani was, in many ways, the irreplaceable man. Known as a charismatic leader — indeed, the only charismatic leader in Iran’s military today — he has no parallel among contemporary Iranian commanders.

Wherever Iran has sent its expeditionary Quds Force to war — in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and Yemen — there you would find Soleimani.

[...]

He also set up a far-flung financial empire, reportedly taking a percentage of the float on all foreign currency exchange from Iraqi banks, netting close to $1 billion per month in black money to finance his terror empire.

[...]

His many brushes with death and his outrageous terror rap sheet, which is longer than bin Laden’s, led Soleimani and his supporters to consider him invincible. His demise at the hands of US forces on Thursday not only shows that is not the case but that the aura of invincibility of the regime itself is over....
Read the rest HERE.

So, what is your take on the repercussions of the killing of Qassem Soleimani?

  1. Kill his replacement ASAP. And the next one. And the people that decide who the next one is. Neither the US Constitution nor the McDonald's drive thru menu give the Quds Force the right to exist. Frag 'em.

  2. The Democrats are empowering our enemies. Soleimani masterfully built and maintained an archipelago of Iranian proxies and satrapies across the Middle East, but people are becoming disenchanted with the Shia Mullahocracy from Lebanon to Iraq and to Iran itself. The totalitarian Islamo-fascist regime in Tehran is threated by popular revolt, and the Democrats in Congress are about to throw them a lifeline.

    2. Is't it high time we openly ACKNOWLEDgED our long involvement in an actual CIVIL WAR, and started to take VIGIANTE ACtIIN against the truest enemies against our Consitutional Republic our nation has ever faced?

I'm very much afraid we are gong to have to DEFY the Constitution and use overwheling FORCE against the filthy Libatard TERMITES who been busily gnawing away at the foundation of our system of governance as foundsd since te earliest days of the twentieth century.

A whole lot of vicious, destructive leftist "operatives" and the duped imbeciles who choose to follow them are going to have to DIE if we ever hope to save ALL of us from being consigned to the kind of Living Death experienced in the Soviet Union, Red China, Noth Korea, much pf sputheast Asia, and the Nazi regime.

  4. The President harms his cause when he talks about hitting Iran's cultural sites. Attacking a cultural site is a violation of the Law of Armed Conflict, of which we are a signatory, and all military personnel receive training on. A military person can be court martialed for violating it, and no military planners would plan such an attack.

Such statements from the president are stupid and inflammatory and mitigate against his case.

The Iranian people are watching and waiting, and they mark a clear distinction between their Persian culture and the rotten regime persecuting them.

Such statements by the president drive the Iranian people into the arms of the hated regime, and give blabbering leftwing commentators a chance to look smart and scold the president.

Agreed. Although I do understand why DJT is going "scorched earth."

As for the blabbering leftwing commentators a chance

They would blabber anyway. They were blabbering before DJT mentioned the cultural sites.

    5. I’m trying to recall how many “cultural sites” the Islamists themselves have destroyed, owing to the fact that the sites are an “affront” to a god that doesn’t exist. Actually, I don’t think I can count that high. Trump proclaiming that cultural sites are on his target list is no more than DJT bluster, but it probably convinces every one of our potential enemies that the man isn’t sane, and that could be a good thing for our foreign policy —which, over the past 32 years could be summed up as, “kissing Moslem ass.” More to the point, why do we think these cultural sites have value? It suggests that Islamic culture has value, and I haven’t seen much value in any of those Middle Eastern cesspools. Now, in my view, Soleimani was no more (or less) than a modern rendition of Rashid ad-Din Sinan, who’s work began in the twelfth century. Eff him and the camel he rode in on. I agree with TC that we should be busy at work trying to affix a good location for Soleimani’s successor. As to the captive Persians, they overwhelmingly opted for the Ayatollah, so I’m afraid my sympathy meter is stuck on a negative integer.

All you guys who advocate Bland Sweet Reasonableness an strct adherence o the Rule Books as the best way to deal with deadly enemies remind me of a poor schnook named Leo who participated in a therapy group with me in New York city nearly fifty years ago.

Leo was a nice, decnt, well-mannered individual who was always passed over for promotions, always disregarded and taken for granted by his colleagues, always rejected by the girls he tried to date, etc.

The therapist –– a renowned genius in his field –– was quick to get to the heart of this guy's problem. He said, "Leo, your trouble stems from your having spent your entire life waiting patiently on line for your turn to shine, –– but, Leo, I'm sorry to have to tell you THERE IS NO LINE."

A memorable mment in the annals of Group Therapy!

We should abort all their unborn children and the left would be thrilled but going after a mass murdering terrorist is terrible and promising self defense if just horrible. There is nothing to be gained from attacking their cultural sites unless they are stockpiling nucs in them.
This could have ll been avoided by just giving them several billion and supplying them with nuclear capabilities, after all look how well it worked for barry.

Until the electorate comes to their senses and realizes one cannot put American hating Muslims (or Democrats for that matter) into positions of power, I am afraid Bunkerville is correct. They will continue to go after us.

I was always told Islamists only understand one thing. Strength. The President is right but as stated above, we must be preemptive, not reacting.

  8. Why worry about the trivial "war crime" of bombing cultural sites when Trump, like at least two presidents before him, has shredded 370 years of established international law regarding the "sovreignty of nations" established at the Wesphalian conferences to end several centuries of endless war?

What would be our reaction if, say, Germany flew drones into this country and used missiles to asassinate General Mark Milley in downtown Washington DC?

Ridiculous? Suggesting we commit war crimes against Iran--destroying cultural sites--and thinking the that would achieve some military objective is the epitome of ridiculous.

Iranians hate the regime, but they love their nation and their Persian culture. Bombing cultural site would be the height of idiocy, on par with our invasion of Iraq.

      Over to you.

Further contradiction among proponents of such, who also castigated the previous regime for not supporting the ‘green revolution’.

  9. Year in review: How Iran’s influence turned into seething discontent

Iran's clients and natural constituencies across the ME are fed up with them, and Iranians have had it with the mullahs as well.

Our foreign policy people have probably deliberately decided this is the time to apply pressure. We are probably deliberately forcing Iraq to make a choice: Iran or Us. That is not laughable. Even many Shia in Iraq put nationalism over ties to Iran.

    People worry we are over-extended?

Iran is dangerously over-extended and their pockets of extremist clients around the region are vulnerable. You won't hear any of this from our stinking press and unhinged Democrats.

  10. I can’t help but to wonder what would have happened, and what would have been said pf f Soleimani had not been killed and he then planed, and carried out another attack on one of our embassies that would have cost American lives and it was later revealed that we had him in our crosshairs and decided to let him go!
The left would be screaming that Trump could have and should have carried out the strike, and killed the Son of a Bitch!
Remember they were already trying to say that the embassy attack in which no American lives were lost was already Trumps Benghazi !
The whole point is that the left is willing to do or say anything to hurt President Trump even if it is at the expense of American lives. Even though they know that we know everyone knows that Soleimani is a Vile, Disgusting Murdering Terrorist mastermind on the same level as Osama Bin Laden and Al Baghdadi ! The left knows that the man is responsible for the deaths of well over 600 Americans and was in the process of planning committing more acts of violence including killing American Diplomats ...or do they believe that he was there in Iraq for making Peace ... Of course he was there with ill intent against the United States and our people. But I repeat that does not matter ! The left was rooting for a Trump Benghazi

Like in some old Western movie where you would root for the Indians to kill the Cowboy! This guy needed to be killed.
But lets say it like it is...the past few Presidents wanted to know off Dictators like Saddam Hussein, and Bin Laden , and the country for 100 percent for it. But when it came to Donald Trump it was a “Bad Thing”. I say Bull-Shit, and let em talk!
Even if they believed it would be for the good of the country, they would NOT give Trump the credit

  11. The Trump administration is playing chess. Latest News:

BAGHDAD, Jan 6 (Reuters) - The United States-led military coalition against Islamic State said on Monday that it was pulling out of Iraq and would be repositioning forces over the next few days and weeks, a letter seen by Reuters showed.

"Sir, in deference to the sovereignty of the Republic of Iraq, and as requested by the Iraqi Parliament and the Prime Minister, CJTF-OIR will be repositioning forces over the course of the coming days and weeks to prepare for onward movement," read a letter from United States Marine Corps Brigadier General William H. Seely III, the commanding general of Task Force Iraq.

The authenticity of the letter, which was addressed to the Iraqi defence ministry's Combined Joint Operations Baghdad, was confirmed to Reuters independently by an Iraqi military source.

"We respect your sovereign decision to order our departure," it said. (Reporting by Ahmed Aboulenein Editing by Chizu Nomiyama)

Watch the barking propaganda belchers in the US press make asses out of themselves analyzing this all wrong. This is just one move of many. Stay tuned.
