The Cat Of Cats!

Our magnificent Honey Bunny, aka "Pooter" (1978-1997). A red point Applehead Siamese, she was the cat of cats! Not an ounce overweight, she weighed 17 pounds and was, in the words of our vet, "robust and the biggest female I've ever seen." She even stalked deer!  Totally bonded with us, Honey Bunny enjoyed road trips and spending the night in a motel or at my father's house.

Sitting on the well cover outside our then front door.

  1. LOVELY!

Our lives would certainly be less colorful, less intriguingng, less amusing, less charming, and much less enjoyable if we didn't have ou feline friends to keep us company.

To all the beloved kitties who've had to leave us:

    "Thanks for the Memories."

  3. Yeah - well my little Erica doesn't have an ounce of fat on her either at a whopping 6 lbs (6.1 on her "fat" days.)

    Pooter is very beautiful...

  5. 'She's Just a Jerk': Brutal Honesty Makes Shelter Cat Internet Sensation

    CBS 8 [San Diego, CA]

    by Travis Pittman

A North Carolina animal shelter says it has received over 100 applications to adopt a mean pet, after they used some brutal honesty in an ad to adopt out what it is calling the "World's Worst Cat." The shelter says it has received so many calls and messages that it is asking people to be patient while they try to get back to everyone. Mitchell County Animal Rescue wrote on Facebook it thought Perdita "was just sick, turns out she's a jerk." Photos of the cat show she has a distinctive stare that just gives the impression she has no desire to be your friend. The shelter says Perdita's likes include . . .

    1. WOW! Certainly a UNIQUE variation on the Back and White theme. A bit strange-looking. perhaps, but Perdita doesn't look "mean" to me.

      What did you think, AOW?

    1. All things bright and beautiful,
      All creatures great and small,
      All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.

      1. Each little flow’r that opens,
      Each little bird that sings,
      He made their glowing colors,
      He made their tiny wings:

      All things bright and beautiful,
      All creatures great and small,
      All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.

      2. The purple-headed mountain,
      The river running by,
      The sunset and the morning
      That brighten up the sky:

      All things bright and beautiful,
      All creatures great and small,
      All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.

      3. The cold wind in the winter,
      The pleasant summer sun,
The ripe fruits in the garden,
      He made them ev’ry one:

      All things bright and beautiful,
      All creatures great and small,
      All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.

      4. The tall trees in the greenwood,
      The meadows where we play,
      The rushes by the water
      We gather ev’ry day:

      All things bright and beautiful,
      All creatures great and small,
      All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.

  7. _________ MIAOW _________

    (Excellent, Mysterious, Subtle)

    I put down my book,
The Meaning of Zen,

and see the cat smiling
into her fur

    as she delicately combs it

    with her rough pink tongue.

"Cat, I would lend you this

book to study

but it appears that you have

already read it."

She looks up and gives me

    her full gaze.

"Don't be ridiculous," she purrs.

    "I wrote it."
