Societal Devolution

One of my recent finds at Facebook:

How will a generation of sniveling whiners face the harsh realities of a world that is not a gentle world?

The real world is not a mommy who holds everyone's hand and coos, "There, there. You're poor widdle feelings have been hurt."

  1. There are few wolves left among the sheep....but society is doomed when an ever increasing segment of society cares ore about esteem validation on social media, than being a self sufficient, productive Citizen of the Republic.

  2. It's all by design. Deballed castrati,. pajama boys, drunken female victims of a patriarchal "rape culture," minorities, and safe space seekers need a really, really big government to swaddle, comfort, protect and care for them.

    Remember Obama's Life of Julia?

    2. Safe spaces?

Who are the ones complaining that Target rest rooms are no longer "safe spaces".

Who are the ones who complain that the "gay lifestyle" is corrupting their little snowflakes?

Which side wants to be shielded from the criticism of their religious dogma?

    4. There is no denial here that there are excesses on the left and these excesses retard progress.

However, what is very real is the abject fear on the right that their birthright "safe space" was violated by the election of the communist, Muslim, Kenyan usurper.
The right has been led by the nose by rabies media for so long they can't deal with the beam in their own eye.

    5. Ducky,

Christians in this country have shown great resilience and much nuance in light of shifting ground over the past decade. Sure, there are some noisy holdouts, but they are the fringe.

Now, concerning your fixation with potties: Progressive vandals are the outlier on this issue. I don't know your marital status or sexual orientation, but having dated quite a few women, and having known many more as friends and coworkers who were quite candid military women, I can tell you that not only do women not want strange men around when they are going to the toilet, they don't even want to share public toilets with men.

Many people of all stripes, races, genders, etc have very un-"progressive" "hangups" about privacy. Imagine that. Guess what else, foisting this crap on adolescents is damn near criminal. Not only do they have insecurities about their bodies and nudity, they are often insecure about discussing such insecurities.

Progressivism is a ham-fisted and arrogant assault on human nature.

As for your last comment, take your taunting torches of hatred out to your strawman field. Pure, putrid twaddle we've come to expect from you.

    6. For the record, Silverfiddle, I'm a divorced straight male.

I've dated women who would think nothing of walking into a men's room when there was a line at the women's.

    7. Ducky, I don't know a woman alive who wouldn't trot into a men's room if she really had to go NOW and couldn't get a seat in the ladies room...Silverfiddle's point is different....On the whole, women "don't even want to share public toilets with men." Given a choice, most women would opt not to share with a man. To say nothing of little girls at school.

I will never believe privacy is a hangup.

    8. Z,
I admit that I've had to use the men's room twice: once when I had that miserable ureteral stent, the other during the 9/12 march.

But share public toilets with men? Nope!

Besides, men's rooms stink. There, I've said it.

    9. EXACTLY! But SHARE PUBLIC TOILETS? No, thanks....and yes...you said it, and you're right :-)

  3. Back in the early or mid 80s, I noticed the appearance of whiners in the upscale neighborhoods here in Northern Virginia. These people, at the top of the pyramid, were ever whining, whining, whining -- all the while riding around in top-of-the-line luxury cars and wearing designer clothes.

Vicimology culture, but, of course, I didn't know the term at that time.

Teaching the children of these whiners was well nigh impossible. "Little Johnny doesn't feel good about himself. Be gentle."

I had to flee both the public education system (first) and the private education system about 15 years later in 1997).

Translation of the above little mantra I kept hearing from the whiners: "Let Little Johnny do as he pleases and give him A's across the board. Protect his self esteem."

Now the coddled Little Johnnies are adults, and they're crippling their children in ways I can only begin to describe. And I'm starting to see the effects of this victimology in the younger parents of the homeschool students I teach.

There are now so many "special little snowflakes" in the age I teach that it's a good thing that I'm creeping up on retirement age. What I'm selling -- a rigorous education in Language Arts -- will soon not be in demand at all.

According to the new coddling thinking, I'm not "gentle," a word that popped out of a parent's mouth just recently. This was a family new to the homeschool group, and the student, a 7th grader, was withdrawn after attending only two classes. Nothing at all had happened to precipitate such a withdrawal from the group. Surreal!

    1. WIT and WISDOM from NOEL COWARD c. 1927(!)

What's Going to Happen to the Children
When There Aren't Any More Grown-ups?

      Life today is hectic.
      Our world is running away.
      Only the wise can recognize
      The process of decay.
      All our dialectic
      Is quite unable to say
Whether we’re on the beam or not,
Whether we’ll rise supreme or not,
Whether this new regime or not
      Is leading us astray.

      We all have Frigidaires, radios,
      Television and movie shows
To shield us from the ultimate abyss.
We have our daily bread neatly cut,
      Every modern convenience but
The question that confronts us all is this:

What’s going to happen to the children
When there aren’t any more grown-ups?

Having been injected with some rather peculiar glands
      Darling Mum’s gone platinum
And dances to all the rumba bands.
The songs that she sings at twilight
      Would certainly be the highlight
For some of those claques that Elsa Maxwell
      Takes around in yachts.

      Rockabye, rockabye, rockabye my darlings,
Mother requires a few more shots.
Does it amuse the tiny mites
To see their parents high as kites?

What’s, what’s, what’s going to happen to the tots?

      Life today’s neurotic, a ceaseless battle we wage;
      Millions are spent to circumvent
      The march of middle age.
The fact that we grab each new narcotic
Can only prove in the end

Whether our hormones gel or not
Whether our cells rebel or not,
Whether we’re blown to hell or not,
We’ll all be round the bend
      From taking Benzedrine, Dexamyl,
      Every possible sleeping pill
To knock us out or knock us into shape.

We all have shots for this, shots for that,
Shots for making us thin or fat,
But there’s one problem that we can’t escape.

What’s going to happen to the children
When there aren’t any more grown-ups?

Thanks to plastic surgery and uncle’s abrupt demise,
Dear Aunt Rose has changed her nose
      But doesn’t appear to realize
The pleasures that once were heaven
      Look silly at sixty-seven,
And youthful allure you can’t procure
In terms of perms and pots.

So lullaby, lullaby, lullaby my darlings,
Try not to scratch those large red spots,
Think of the shock when mummie’s face
Is lifted from its proper place,
What’s, what’s, what’s going to happen to the tots?

What’s going to happen to the children
When there aren’t any more grown-ups?

It’s bizarre when grandmamma, without getting out of breath
Starts to jive at eighty-five and frightens the little ones to death.
The police had to send a squad car
When daddy got fried on vodka
And tied a tweed coat round mummie’s throat
      In several sailor’s knots.

      Hushabye, hushabye, hushabye my darlings,
Try not to fret and wet your cots.
One day you’ll clench your tiny fists
      And murder your psychiatrists.

What’s, what’s, what’s going to happen to the tots?

      ~ Noel Coward (1899-1973)

  6. The systematic conditioning Cultural Marxists have insidiously perpetrated on Western Christian Civilization for the past century has brought us to this dismal low point, AOW.

Most are followers, few are leaders, therefore, it is of the utmost importance that those who presume to direct the paths followed by the young be virtuous souls of sterling character with a healthy, basically optimistic view who are, nevertheless fully aware of the sores and pitfalls inot which have, gullible young minds can fall.

We took our strength, our ascendancy and our Number One place in the world for granted. At the same time we let seductive fiends beguile us into thinking that there is no reason why we should NOT have the proverbial Free Lunch served to us each day on a silver platter by an all-wise, all-knowing, all-loving BUREAUCRACY.

We let the terrible cynicism and hatred of Christianity harbored by perverse intellectual aggressors lead us down the Garden Path. As a result, we have lost most –– we hope not all –– our Christian faith. And slowly-but-surely we have abandoned Divine Precepts as the Foundation of our lives, and the Guide to aid us in solving problems, bolstering courage, and dealing with perplexities.

I have always believed that in a very real sense WE ARE WHAT WE THINK.

By corrupting, perverting and largely abandoning our belief system in favor of manmade doctrines purporting to be wiser, stronger, kinder and infinitely superior to Almighty God, we have opened a Pandoras Box of Confusion, Distress, Agony, Anger, Grief, perpetual Misunderstanding, Violence and eventual Despair.

When have these not been part of the human condition?
Christians see them as so much a part that they posit eternal life to cope.
You may see that as superior to an existential response, so be it but can the superiority.

'Stop Trump' bus in London urges expats to vote for Hillary!
A new campaign, touted as the “October surprise that will end Trump”, is seeking to mobilise a “secret swing state” of more than 8 million mostly unregistered “global citizens” and “progressive” Americans living abroad to vote in the U.S. election.
The initiative was launched in London in the United Kingdom on Wednesday by ‘Avaaz’, a registered U.S. charity and one the world’s largest and most powerful activist groups linked to globalist billionaire George Soros. Campaigners toured from the University College London down to Parliament blasting Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Born in the USA’ while chanting “Don’t Vote Trump” from an open top bus.
And they are having Usher perform a free concert to promote Globalization.

WELL PUT! I guess that soon there will be no need to study or retain the results thereof. One just has to verbalize(no need to even press buttons)interrogatives, etc. into their little gadgets and 'presto' instant knowledge appears! How, in the World, did we ever survive without the ability to incessantly text each other with inane messages and/or 'in your face' photographs of $#!t no one cares about;just to be doing it? I fear that the impending dependence on such [could] expedite our un-doing, not withstanding what positive aspects there may be.

  10. ________________ DIAGNOSIS ________________

The blogosphere is a microcosm of society as a whole. It mirrors and magnifies the breakdown in civility, the apparent inability or unwillingness to pay attention to what others are saying. The determination to have one's own way regardless of the stated aims of those in leadership positions –– even blog owners –– exemplifies everything that has gone wrong.

People no longer feel obliged to show even a modicum of respect or consideration for others nor do they even try to follow instructions.

It is like a symphony orchestra where all the players have decided NOT to follow the CONDUCTOR, and NOT even to play the SAME piece at the same time. Imagine that, if you can.

The Merchants of Menace, the Doyens of Doom, the Nattering Nabods of Negativism –– and especially the Condescending Commie Creeps like Canardo –– have done their job exceedingly well. They have spread so much doubt, confusion, perversion, misinformation, sneering cynicism and lack of faith that most are now impervious both to Reason and to Decency. Worse even than that they have been rendered BLIND to BEAUTY and CONTEMPTUOUS of TRUTH.

We seem incapable of sustaining pleasant, fruitful conversation anymore. All we do is push and shove our preconceived notions at one another, but there is no EXCHANGE of ideas, no DEVELOPMENT of themes. Only MONOLOGUES hissed or shouted into the VOID.

Discourse, if one could even dignify it with that term, has degenerated to the point where everything is one big DENIGRATION DERBY. A HATEFEST. An ORGY of SNARLING SURLINESS, MENDACIOUSNESS and MUTUAL CONTEMPT.

In short A COMPLETE WASTE of TIME!
