Our Twilight Zone (Commentary Added)

Consider this (click directly on the graphic to enlarge it):

Below the fold is the commentary that I posted at Infidel Bloggers Alliance on May 8, 2015:

I have a theory as to why so many who should have better sense than to take the position they take are attacking Geller and Spencer for sponsoring the event in Garland, Texas.

That the two Garland jihadists don’t “fit the profile” makes these reality deniers uncomfortable — to the point that they are blaming the messengers (Robert Spencer, Pamela Geller, Bosch Fawstin, and any who support these messengers). To do otherwise would mean having take an honest and objective look at the teachings of the Quran and the Haditha.

The uncomfortable reality that Islamophiles struggle with: the Garland jihadists didn’t have long criminal histories, histories of mental illness, or histories of having grown up downtrodden in poverty.

So, what did set off the would-be mass murderers?

Islam, of course.

The Garland jihadists were serious about strict shari’a and desired to be enforcers thereof. That is the reality.

The values of shari’a and Western values are incompatible.  Islam is the problem!

How do we deal with having in our midst those whose desire of the heart is to enforce strict shari'a and those who support, financially and otherwise, those who wish to enforce shari'a?

  3. Our federal government, across many different administrations both Democrat and Republican, has allowed the Stinking Saudis to dump billions of dollars in this country funding Wahabbi extremism in mosques and in our prisons.

When will we finally get a president who puts a stop to it?

Secondly, why has no Republican politician stood up on his hind legs and questioned the wisdom of importing Muslims from wartorn regions? Many will be radicalized by what they've went through, and others will be offended by what they see here in vulgar America. We're inviting in trouble.

Why doesn't at least on GOOP politicians stand up on his hind legs and demand that the Muslim quota be stricken and the positions be given to besieged Middle Eastern Christians?

Our country is screwed up, and it starts with the government. We can holler all day about the damned Democrats, but how are the GOOPers any different?

Odd that the media's only talking about that when I think it's five OTHER Arab countries whose leaders have also turned down the invite. They're sending 'representatives'.....I'm betting Obama now only sends 'representatives,' too. He'll get back at them; he always does.

In the world of jihad, the preparatory command is not a “borderline” activity. It is a seamless activity where the one command is followed through naturally by the second command. The myth of a borderline jihadi is just that.

I believe that watch lists should be maintained to locate individuals who show signs of preparatory command. When these signals are identified, they should be removed from the public square prior to execution of command.

Muslim Elton Simpson embarked on jihad with his first signal noted on a social media platform. He became a shaheed through intent, not action. He died for the cause the day he declared for the cause. His death on May 3rd in Garland, Texas is merely the visible demonstration of the death which he had already invoked. Don’t kid yourself. He was already a dead man walking.

    3. Duck,
Western converts to Islam are definitely a significant problem

Why are there so many converts to Islam?

      According to this...

... Hilaire Belloc, the great 20th century Catholic historian and poet, warned in 1929 that Islam would make a return to the world stage:

We shall almost certainly have to reckon with Islam in the near future. Perhaps, if we lose our Faith, it will rise. For after this subjugation of the Islamic culture by the nominally Christian had already been achieved, the political conquerors of that culture began to notice two disquieting features about it. The first was that its spiritual foundation proved immovable; the second that its area of occupation did not recede, but on the contrary slowly expanded....

A spiritual vacuum seeks to be filled.

    7. FT,
Yes, Churchill warned the world about the threat of mohammedanism.

      So did John Adams:

…he [Muhammad] declared undistinguishing and exterminating war, as a part of his religion, against all the rest of mankind…The precept of the Koran is, perpetual war against all who deny, that Mahomet is the prophet of God.

Thus the jihad may be regarded as Islam’s instrument for carrying out its ultimate objective by turning all people into believers, if not in the prophethood of Muhammad (as in the case of the dhimmis), at least in the belief of God. The Prophet Muhammad is reported to have declared ‘some of my people will continue to fight victoriously for the sake of the truth until the last one of them will combat the anti-Christ’. Until that moment is reached the jihad, in one form or another will remain as a permanent obligation upon the entire Muslim community. It follows that the existence of a dar al-harb is ultimately outlawed under the Islamic jural order; that the dar al-Islam permanently under jihad obligation until the dar al-harb is reduced to non-existence; and that any community accepting certain disabilities- must submit to Islamic rule and reside in the dar al-Islam or be bound as clients to the Muslim community. The universality of Islam, in its all embracing creed, is imposed on the believers as a continuous process of warfare, psychological and political if not strictly military.

    8. Hillaire Belloc considered Islam one of the "Five Great Heresies."

And on a related note, many Muslim converts seem to want to be more Catholic than the pope.

For many people, joining a religion such as Islam, with its global character, history and all that, may be the first time in their lives when they feel a part of something bigger than themselves, and they go overboard.

I think the generational recidivism, where the parents are good US citizens but the children turn into wild-eyed jihadis, is even more disturbing.

It's been said millions of times already, but Islam needs a reformation, and it will not come from Christians, Jews and atheists. It will have to come from within, and it won't happen all at once.

Maybe ISIS's Islamic theater of the grotesque will cause a shift. Who knows?

    9. YUP, SF! There's nothing harder to be around than a newly- reformed drunk. EVERYBODY needs a Twelve-Step Program, whether they think so or not. And NOBODY could POSSIBLY be happy EVER unless he gets involved in a Twelve-Step Program.

      Talk about TIRESOME!

Reminds me of a dear old friend whose husband of twenty-nine years walked out on her leaving their two youngest children to be raised without a father.

Much to her surprise (and my private delight) she felt RELIEF. At first she thought she OWED it to HERSELF to feel angry, bitter and resentful, because the local chapter of NOW had told her she MUST "get in touch with her fury," and all that happy horse manure.

Instead, after the initial shock wore off, she told me, "I was so busy raising our five children I had no idea I was unhappy." And then we both burst out laughing.

Much to her credit she never looked back, God bless her.

I was so proud of her when five years after he'd left her in the lurch he tried to come crawling back a broken man, and SHE WOULDN'T HAVE HIM!

She didn't need NOW or any Twelve-Step Program. All she needed was to realize how string and capable she had ALWAYS been.

That's one of my favorite True Life Histories.

    6. Ducky has it partly right.

Yes, Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld stupidly (or nefariously) lit this fuse, but Obama's College Girl Warlord Club and Foreign Policy JV Team have further fueled the conflagration, and Benghazi is one piece of that.

Hillary Clinton failed to approve adequate security. That is an established fact, and that alone disqualifies her for office. Her incompetence and callous disregard for human life went right along with tipping over the Kadaffi regime and then tittering publicly about it. The country is still in flames, and is now a found of jihadism spilling out into the surrounding countries.

So, Hillary, Obama and the Democrats made the same exact mistake Bush did in Iraq. Further, they armed and trained the "good terrorists" in Syria, who then switched sides and joined ISIS, further fueling the crisis.

If we're going to discuss US foreign policy failures, lets not leave out the current gang of amateurs in the White House.

The Wahhabism in the mosques here is well funded -- as you pointed out. Indeed, the rise of Islamic terrorism is directly related to the importation of Wahhabist clerics and Wahhabist Islamic scholars, the latter at universities all over America.

We are now reaping the harvest of the importation of Wahhabist leaders. Just how many American Muslims -- young American Muslims -- are Wahhabists?

  12. A must-read!

    Academia today:

MIT’s Muslim chaplain raised money for al-Qaeda groups.

    Excerpt:

Suheil Laher [MIT's chaplain starting in 1998] came to MIT as a student in 1990 and by 1998, he became the MIT Muslim chaplain. By the year 2000, he also became president of a Muslim charity based in Boston called Care International, which was founded by Osama Bin Laden’s mentor Abdullah Azzam and was originally called “Al Kifah Refugee Center.” Care International was, in essence, a fundraising vehicle for mujahideen. After the leader of Al Kifah in Brooklyn, “the Blind Sheikh” Omar Abdel-Rehman, was convicted for his role in the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993, Boston’s Care International took over as Al Qaeda’s main base in the United States. Laher, then, was quite an important figure in Al Qaeda’s leadership here. His perch at MIT meant that he had easy access to the best American Muslim minds – and their world-class technical skills.

As a religious scholar and an engineer, Laher was both the spiritual and technological leader of Care International. He pioneered the Jihadist use of the new Internet medium to fundraise and recruit for Al Qaeda causes online. Laher’s personal website prominently featured Abdullah Azzam’s notorious call to Jihad, a tract called “Join the Caravan:”

    [...]

While Laher officially stepped down from his post as MIT chaplain in 2014, he continues to preach at mosques in the Boston area, including the Tsarnaev’s own mosque, the Islamic Society of Boston – giving a sermon there as recently as May 1, 2015….

  24. I know one muslim convert who I've written about on my blog and I know of missionaries who know thousands in Africa.

Please don't talk for me: muslim converts to Christianity are not any huge number in this country. Not at all; and I have never said that. EVER.
I believe good muslims are on the streets every day, attending less-than-radical mosques, doing business, raising their kids.
Sadly, I know they don't read the koran, that the imams are the instructors...as Priests and nuns still are for some Catholics; not all.
When muslims take the time to really investigate the koran, I believe they'll be surprised. But I DO NOT expect them to leave the faith of their families. They'll ignore those parts and obviously don't practice them, don't believe all Christians have to die...not by a very long shot.
Will they become converts? Who knows:? Will they continue to live as muslims and pray to God? Fine, that's not threatening to anybody.
Who CARED about muslims living next door before 9/11, anyway? Nobody seems to answer that question when I've asked. Because the answer is "Nobody cared...they're neighbors, so what?"
It's important that we rally good muslims to march against the evil ones...very important.

I don't give a darn about that "nothing suit" and I'd NEVER believe Breitbart doesn't 'screw up' from time to time........no more than I'd champion Brian Williams or Dan Rather or the loons at msnbc. (any of them finally paid those taxes yet??)
That's not even relevant...what's relevant is much of what I've said in comments above about Muslims since 9/11. What's relevant is very VERY few terrorists today aren't muslim.

Geller and Breitbart aren't "joke sites" any more than terrorism is a JV Team.

    2. Z: But Powers goes on the hated "FAUX SNOOZE," and she occasionally deviates dangerously from progressive orthodoxy and thinks for herself, so like Juan Williams, she is a turncoat and not a true liberal.

Her and Juan's traitorous flirtations with independent thought are even more galling to leftwing progressivism's all-white power structure because they are a protected class, and should therefor never ever ever make any common cause with anyone to the right of Karl Marx.

    4. I don't read anything controversial in the article, AOW.

The conflict is between those like Geller who feel that they can hide behind free speech to push half truths and hatred.
Yes, they can do that but they should not expect it will be done without some criticism.

And yes, it will attack the jihadi freaks. That's a damn problem that IS NOT going to be solved by the likes of Spencer and Geller who feel that a criticism of Islam mandates humiliation.

Titling an article "The Left Has Islam ALL Wrong" implies necessarily that there is a position that has it ALL correct and he knows what is is.
That's a pant load and stifles discussion from the start.

    5. Duck,
Just because something contradicts your worldview does not make that something "a pant load."
