A Model Mosque?

Please watch this one-minute video:

From the YouTube blurb:
The President touts the Islamic Society of Boston as a model for his Countering Violent Extremism program. Then why are there at least 12 jihadis associated with it?
Additional information:
Just days before three and a half years of relationship-building between Boston’s Muslim leaders and federal law enforcement were to result in a jointly-agreed-upon framework to be announced at the White House CVE Summit, Yusufi Vali [executive director at the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center] made a surprise announcement. He told U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz that the ISBCC will be boycotting the Summit, denounced Obama’s Countering Violent Extremism program as an Islamophobic attempt by Obama to unfairly target all Muslims, and, in effect, largely scuttled the Boston part of Obama’s CVE initiative. This was reported by only one reporter from the Boston Globe, whose report was predictably slanted toward Vali’s position, and the story never gained traction. Most of America does not know that the Islamic partner in one of the three cities touted as models of cooperation rejected the president’s path.

Vali wrote:

I cannot sign on to this document due to the premise of “Countering Violent Extremism.” […] A far more appropriate premise to the framework acceptable to the Boston-Muslim community would have been “countering violence”. This term does not single out the American-Muslim community. […] It clearly appears that the CVE initiative is exclusively targeting the American-Muslim community. […] My team and I have never personally come across any individual in our congregation seriously considering any fanatical ideology.
How many other "model" mosques in America are resisting efforts to counter the jihadists in their midst?

  2. Information is often sketchy and biased surrounding such issues, but a Boston Group called Americans for Peace and Tolerance say Saudi money built the Islamic Society of Boston, and US Muslim Brotherhood types have their hands in the operation.

  4. The Tsarnaev's were not members of this mosque so you have a lie right there.

The Cambridge mosque they did attend warned the police about those two.

Charles Jacobs and his AfPaT is a Likud hate group that regularly gets it'sface punched in here in Boston and his group probably produced the video although it could be a Geller/Spencer production.
He also fronts for C.A.M.E.R.A and the David Group.

That crap probably passes for truth in your world.

    1. OK, Ducky. Can we have some serious dialog?

Do you think Saudi money funded the Islamic Society of Boston?

News reports at the time state that Yusufi Vali refused the Muslim version of last rights for the Boston bomber, so that's something in his favor.

I was hoping for some unbiased local reporting from you, but I should have known that was a pipe dream.

    2. What I know about the mosque is that there have been no issues and no calls for extremism.
The relations with the community and Boston in general have been positive.

However, when Charles Jacobs takes his little hate show on the road into high school curricula we don't see any videos about the indoctrinatin he's performing.

  6. Well, Ducky, I know you share my concern about Saudi money funding extremism in this country.

Shouldn't we be asking questions about all this foreign money, as well as foreign preachers, flowing in and enabling Muslim groups to punch way above their demographic weight?

Your nice, cultured Muslim friends you drink chardonnay with must be expressing alarm at the Wahhabi and Muz Bro influence in this country.

    1. I do, Silverfiddle. I consider Wahabism to be completely anti Western and close to insanity.

That said, since it is such a threat the term shouldn't be used every time some whack job wants to take a poke at the entirety of Islam. There have been a number of claims against the mosque and nothing has panned out. The video is a lie and should be labeled as such.

I haven't had a glass of wine in years except a glass of Chianti at a local Italian place I like. I drink beer and I've been in a Starbucks maybe three times in the last five years.
However, my friends are more concerned about Teabags and freak shows like Ben Carson than they are of Muslims.

I consider ALL fundamentalism to be an enemy of reason and free will.

    2. You'll notice, Silverfiddle that along with the Tsarnaev's the other prominent photo in the establishing frame is Todashev who was executed by the FBI and has never had any connection with the mosque.

  8. Actually, the video linked the Boston Bomber brothers to the Islamic Society of Boston, not the mosque itself, but there could be some fuzzy conflation going on there, I grant you that.

But, what to make of Vali backing out of this partnership with Obama?

Me? I think it is simple pushback that is part of a larger campaign to completely sever Islam from the violence it's extreme practitioners deal out on a daily basis.

We can't let them get by with it. Just as Catholicism will be forever wedded to the Inquisitions, and Protestantism to the Salem Witch Trials and the other baggage of their past, so must we all make the connection between the teachings of Muhammad and the crazed, murderous actions of his extremist followers.

We can also stipulate that just as you and I are not responsible for a Catholic who bombs an abortion clinic, our friendly Muslim neighbors are not responsible for violent jihadism.

We can make distinctions as well. If you and I sit in a church and listen to a priest preach violence against gays and abortionists and do nothing, we are at least complicit and bear some moral responsibility.

Same for Muslims who see and hear this going on around them but do nothing.

Now, which do you think there are more of? Christian hate preachers inciting Christians to violence, or Muslim hate preachers inciting Muslims to violence?

I'll see your Fred Phelps and raise you that turd in a turban who called for Pamela Geller's death.

    1. But it is just the likes of Geller who has tried to convict the entirety of Islam and then we get surprised when the fringe pushes back.

It's very well calculated on the part of her and Spencer.

Given Obama's actions I don't know why any Muslim would partner with him. He's a masterful politician and you have to judge politicians by their acts.
He'll talk the game and then let Nuttyyahoo build as many settlements as he likes. The welfare checks keep coming.

I wonder if he's sincere about trying to walk the tightrope between Iran and our valued allies the Saudis. I have some sympathy for him. When your friends in the region are Saudi Arabia and Israel you're in deep freakin' yogurt.

Still relations with Muslims are pretty good in Boston and they are a high achieving, productive population.
Let's face it. Would you rather they move in or Dominicans?

      Delete
    2. But you look at the perps in that video and the links to the mosque are passing at best.

There's one guy who was arrested for a plot against the Saudi royal family. Lot of Muslims would like to do the royal family.

      Another is a Canadian national.

One was the son of a succesful pharmicist who did post very radical stuff on Facebook. A friend was also complicet and they did attend the mosque but there is no evidence that they were part of any concerted radicalization there and no physical attack materialized.
They were tried and are currently inside for quite a while and there has been little talk of support from the mosque.

Another is an Afghan M.I.T. student who is said to have occasionally attended the mosque before she went all jihadi.

To make a video that intimates these people were part of any larger conspiracy is simply irresponsible.

    9. Just sayin'... do you have any links for what you posted? I just read the Daily Caller, a conservative site and they say nothing of the sort.

Here's their post, word for word...

"New documents obtained by Judicial Watch and made public Monday show that then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and other senior officials under President Obama were given intelligence within hours of the Sept. 11, 2012, Benghazi attack describing how it had been planned at least 10 days in advance “to kill as many Americans as possible.”

A heavily redacted copy of a Sept. 12, 2012, Defense Intelligence Agency memo to Clinton, then Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, the White House National Security Council and the Joint Chiefs of Staff said “the attack was planned 10 or more days prior on approximately 01 September 2012. The intention was to attack the consulate and to kill as many Americans as possible to seek revenge for U.S. killing of Aboyahiye ((ALALIBY)) in Pakistan and in memorial of the 11 September 2001 atacks on the World Trade Center buildings.”

The attack “was planned and executed by the Brigades of the Captive Omar Abdul Rahman (BCOAR). BCOAR is also responsible for past attacks on the Red Cross in Benghazi and the attack on the British Ambassador, they have approximately 120 members.” Rahman is serving a life sentence in a federal prison for his role in the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center which killed six people in New York.

The memo was labeled: “Information Report, Not Finally Evaluated Intelligence.”

While they talk about the planning being done at least 10 days in advance, the Admin did receive "Not finally evaluated Intelligence hours after the attack.

That not "finally evaluated intelligence" means it probably was along the same lines as famous memo another President saw that said "Bin Laden was determined to attack the US and hijack planes to do so.

  12. Meanwhile, White House steps up warnings about terrorism on U.S. soil:

Alarmed about the growing threat from Islamic State, the Obama administration has dramatically stepped up warnings of potential terrorist attacks on American soil after several years of relative calm.

Behind the scenes, U.S. authorities have raised defenses at U.S. military bases, put local police forces on alert and increased surveillance at the nation's airports, railroads, shopping malls, energy plants and other potential targets.

Driving the unease are FBI arrests of at least 30 Americans on terrorism-related charges this year in an array of "lone wolf" plots, none successful, but nearly all purportedly inspired by Islamic State propaganda or appeals.

The group's leader, Abu Bakr Baghdadi, drove home the danger in a 34-minute audio recording released online Thursday. He urged Muslims everywhere to "migrate to the Islamic State or fight in his land, wherever that may be."

    [...]

And on Thursday, the FBI arrested a former interpreter for the U.S. military in Iraq, now a naturalized American citizen, who had tried to travel to Syria from Texas. In June he had used Twitter to "pledge obedience" to Islamic State.

"As a numbers game, it is pretty easy for ISIS to reach out to a very large number of people using a very robust social media presence," said J.M. Berger, a nonresident fellow at the Brookings Institution, using a common acronym for Islamic State.

"I suspect we should see more plots going forward," he added.

It is foolish to think that these jihadist wannabes are not involved with Islamic centers here in the United States.

He's dreading going home tomorrow; he and others constantly get threatened waiting on line in stores (with immigrants, mostly Arab) pushing to get ahead and using threats....the clubs he goes to are starting to get violent because of the Arab kids hanging out, police look the other way, when the muslims march against Jews in Munich, the headlines say "GERMANS MARCH"..and the photos are all Arabs...it goes ON and on.
The stories are endless; and this kid didn't have a feeling one way or the other on ANYTHING political 10 years ago...now he and most people he knows are feeling squeezed emotionally and financially....it's awful.

Fox News is hurting the Republican Party, according to a study conducted by a top official in the first Bush administration.

The study, authored by Bruce Bartlett, who worked in the Treasury Department under George H. W. Bush and was also a domestic policy adviser to Ronald Reagan, found that Fox viewers tended to be less informed about current affairs than people who watch mainstream news -- and even people who don't watch the news at all.
