Vision in the operated eye is stable at 20/25, and that stability of vision is unusual all these months after the October 2, 2014 surgery for retinal detachment.
However, I have developed a conjunctival cyst in the operated eye. The cyst is somewhat bothersome. An eye specialist will check that cyst every 6 months. As long as it doesn't cause too much eye ache or interfere with vision, we're going to leave it alone.
Needless to say, I taking every precaution with my lifestyle so as not to aggravate that eye's condition.
I'll be sure and miss that one.

The differences between the West and most of the rest of the world: (1) the West today goes to war in an attempt to defend ideals and people's right to self-rule and (2) the West is ready to put on the brakes much sooner via diplomacy.
A lot of people seem to have forgotten that, after WW2, the West helped Germany and Japan to rebuild.
BTW, Z, have you seen the film America yet?

There may be unending hostility in that area, but that hostility, historically, predates the arrival of the modern nation of Israel.
Besides, there is also the matter of the persecution of Jews over many centuries in many different lands. I can't say that Jews "deserved" such persecution much more than numerous other groups.
And one more thing....The New World European settlers came to this side of the world and settled an area in which they met great hostility on the part of the indigenous peoples. If not for superior weaponry and the inadvertent diseases brought over by the Europeans, the indigenous peoples might well have won the victory?

There are other matters about which "no word must be spoken," too.
On the other hand, anti-Semitic speech specifically designed to provoke violence is dangerous in the extreme. See this, for example. Such designated days are not as unusual as you might think. Google search "slap a Jew day" or "kick a Jew day" (without quotation marks), and see how many hits come up.
The world has gone mad, and there seems to be no end to the madness!

ReplyDeleteI have 2 theories on the airplane in Ukraine which both reflect one perspective of Putin, that clever little b*st*rd.
1) He helped the Russian-backed separatists by supplying them with the tools and know how to shoot down the plane while keeping Russian hands officially clean. Or,
2) He tricked the Ukrainians into believing it was HIS plane with coordinates leaked to zero in on the plane so he can locate the crews in Ukraine with the skill and tools to be dangerous.
Information or disinformation? Who knows. Like they used to the say in the old Soviet Union: There is no Pravda (truth) in Izvestia (the news) and no Izvestia in Pravda.

it truly matters very little in the grand scheme of how you conduct your life. and that is what i learn about you; i learn exactly the things you yourself choose to deny from your responses to your blog. i get to see your inner working mind as you attempt to defend your position which give me a blueprint as to how you not only view problems but also how you deal with a problem and attempt to reach a solution to said problem.
