Musical Interlude

(For politics, please scroll down)

One of my favorite movie themes, albeit a lesser-known one, by film composer Michael Gore and from the poignant, award-winning 1983 film Terms of Endearment

  1. I think I remember my cousin playing this on her piano. I was never a piano player, but if I remember correctly, movie themes were popular for teaching students back then.

I also seem to remember that to play the theme from the movie The Sting, it would require less advanced students to pair up to both attack it at once, one at each end of the keyboard.

Fascinating instrument. FreeThinke often lamented that I had not learned it, and urged me to start, saying its never too late, but for me, it is.

  3. I have never seen the movie. I know Jack Nicholson from his later arched-eyebrow puckish period. Witches of Eastwick, Anger Management...

I did like Five Easy Pieces. I watched The King of Marvin Garden the other night, and didn't like it at all.

    1. I liked Nicholson's bit part in Easy Rider, and he was brilliant in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

I'll have to check this movie out. I have zero interest in most modern movies, and for some reason, I have a strong preference for movies of my parents' generation.

My wife and I are currently into 1960's Bob Hope movies, some with Phyllis Diller. The critics crap all over them, but we really enjoy them. Good clean fun.

    2. I just checked IMDB. Jack Nicholson is 85 years old. The last movie he starred in was The Bucket List in 2007.
