Here's a thought. If you were a corrupt administration, why wouldn't you drive up oil and gas prices (profits going to companies your kids are involved in) by shutting down American production for "altruistic" reasons?
I would think of it as laundered mega-bucks through bribes and campaign contributions. of course, you would have side deals going on with CCP owned "energy companies", so called "sustainable energy" companies and holding companies like Burisma Holdings. But this is all just supposition. ;)
I've been sick with a bad cold would anyone mind giving me a clue to what is going on. I cannot keep up with Spotify anymore they are all going bonkers. Another supposed mis-speak about covid again? Fauci has them spinning.
LOVE BIlly Connolly's line about the Wm Tell Overture; that is hilarious! And you ought to hear MY Neil Young impression :-) "Sailing Heart ships on broken harbors..." !!
Not that exciting. I usually slip my arms into my pocket tee-shirt, place my palms on my shoulders and elbows toward the front then shake them up and down on the vibrato. :)
WTFletcher is going on? Is Biden hell bent on destroying the US by allowing all these stupid things to happen. God too many to list but I will list just two the BORDER and AFGHANISTAN! Freaking moron...... :(
Warren, Biden is actually restoring sanction waivers which Trump had previously approved and his Secretary of State Mike Pompeo ended in May 2020.
The Daily Wire, according to Newsgaurd, "does not repeatedly publish false content", it "severely violates basic standards of credibility and transparency" and "often misstates facts to advance partisan opinion".
Thersites, Doc's Wife admits "In these past two and a half years things in America has been very hard for many of us" and then goes into a long winded recital of playbook talking points.
Biden, much like Obama, inherited another abject failure of governance to clean up with an obstructive opposition party doing all they can to sabotage those efforts.
Thanks Joe. We don't need that over here. If we allow one, it seems to act as a magnet for many more.
Then we get the Bloggieland Tittle Tattle, (Fill in the blank) said this about (AOW, Silverfiddle, etc) over at (Fill in the blank Left Blogistan rant site).

@Ronald J. Ward - You have no reason to come at me the way you have for the last two months. I have never given you angst or reason. Infact for the most part I have ignored you. Elizabeth, I scrolled the post of the past 2 weeks and didn't find any that I commented to you. If you're referring to my above comment of: "The first sentence of your rant disqualifies the rest", that wasn't directed to you. It was addressed a now deleted rant from someone blaming Biden for the problems of the last 2 and 1/2 years.
Otherwise, I really don't know what I've said in recent weeks that offended you.
Elisabeth, I continued scrolling to find this harassing and insulting behavior you accuse me of.
The last I found was Jan 13:
Respectfully Elizabeth, despite how much you desperately want it, this "mayhem" did not occur "since Biden took over" any more than we'll all be dead from his remaining 3 years.
This isn't a result of some binary input that triggered inflation and shelf shortages but rather a product from many ingredients over the years and coming to a hard boil from COVID (assuming you accept the validity of the virus rather than it being a hoax or a Fauci scheme or such) all of which predates Biden taking office.
Years of sending manufacturing to China, "just-in-time" delivery, worker revolt, a deregulation of monopolies, the top wealthy being anywhere from tax free to socialists getting my money in addition to their profits, stacked courts allowing monopolies to rob us blind, a Republican Party not only hell bent on obstruction to governance but admitting to having no governing agenda, and 764 billionaires who've doubled their money during COVID makes for a pretty toxic stew. --Ronald J. Ward January 13, 2022 at 11:25:00 AM CST
And I'm pretty sure that was the first in some time as I too have avoided commenting to you. I even attempted to set a civil tone in the first sentence.
Did I miss something in that previous 3 weeks of scrolling?
Yeah SF, it's easy to claim victory when all you have to do is peck it out on a keyboard and just say so.
And I guess I'm off to a Dr Suess book burning because, well, that's just what liberals do or, according to the wise words of Silverfish who equates Neil Young cutting business ties as some "Liberal Religion" of cancelling free speech.
Hi Ronald, I left you some factual information on Kaepernick in the last blog post, since you brought it up. No need to thank me.
"Liberal Religion" was Glenn Greenwald's characterization, not mine, so get your attributions straight when you use quotes. I recommend Glenn Greenwald's substack to you. He's a trenchant thinker, relentless investigator and excellent writer. You should go read his essays.
SF, I would wade into that but considering how tensions have elevated, I think a hiatus might be best.
Oh, I don't mind getting the taste slapped out of my mouth on occasions or watching you go into denial when you get yours but I never intended to make anyone overly uncomfortable over something I never even said only to be told to shut up after I shut up long ago (reminds me of Bugs Bunny being told to shut up shutting up).
Plus, I'm retiring next week with better things to do than argue over what I never argued anyway, or, or, or something.
And you know how it is for us liberals with all them Dr Suess books to burn and lobbying "Happy Holidays".
Well Ronald, I will surprise you by saying I went back and reviewed comments, and I could not find where you had insulted our blogger buddy Elizabeth.
You seem particularly rankled by my bon mot about burning Dr Seuss books, so it must have hit close to home. Look, as our local Socrates CI continually reminds us, it cuts both ways. Like Democrats, Republicans have a history of censorship as well as screaming when someone censors them, so take my comments for what they are worth. For the record, traditional conservatives are for censoring or driving underground things they consider detrimental to a healthy society. Porn comes to mind. Democrats championed disgusting pig Larry Flynt's pornography, made movies about him, etc, but when the subject turns to free and open debate about Doctator Fauci's narrow, dicatorial, (and often unsupported by data) imperial pronouncements, the left screams "DISINFORMATION!" and demands corporations silence all opposition. How the left picks it battles says much about it.
Colin Kaepernick is a separate issue, and I invite you to read my responses, along with the links to substantiate my comments.
Finally, congratulations on reaching such a wonderful milestone. I wish you all the happiness in your hopefully-long and prosperous future.
SF & AOW, thank you for your kind expressions. It's much appreciated.
I've never seen a more polarized or divisive political environment than what I'm witnessing today- at a time when quite frankly, doesn't affect my personal affairs in the least. It isn't something I've lured myself into as I've been political all my adult life.
And to argue the culprit to simply claim victory, well, see what that trophy cashes in for at Walmart.
But what I may have been lured into is something I knew long ago, a misguided or naïve mindset of rationalizing with what I construe as an indoctrinated cult on my terms. AND THIS IS NOT DIRECTED AT YOU as even I am guilty. I've looked at neighbors Trump flags thinking "oh my, I thought they were good people". I rejected a neighbor's bid to roof my house because he too flew a Trump flag.
So I questioned if this is who I really am or who I wanted to be at this stage of life. There's no reason for me to give my thoughts of Trump or Trumpism or MAGAnuts because you know.
So while I could go on and on (and you know I could) and not trying to pass myself off as a Bible thumper (I despise them as well), The Serenity Prayer comes to mind.
Again, thank you for your thoughts and I wish you the very best in your endeavors.
@Ronald: It's the culture wars, it's poisoning our society. Policy doesn't touch the sides, it's all about demonising the other tribe and not ceding ground to them. Bad times, but it's been developing for decades. On the plus side, maybe the problem has got so bad now that we'll finally address it.
Okay here's the real question for all the Greek scholars amongst us. Why don't we Americans pronounce the "lists of Greek heroes" (Achilles, Heracles, etc.) like we do the other words on the list (particles, spectacles, etc.? I say its' high time we made our English cousins uncomfortable again. ;)
