Pushback

Silverfiddle Rant!
Is it too much for a woman to ask to not see penises in a women's only section of a spa?

What part of Andy Ngo's reporting do you object to, and why?

If it bullies people on the street like a fascist, screams at people like a fascist, then it must be antifa fascism.

A naked man walked through a women-only dressing room at a Korean spa, a women complained:

But it's California, so it all good!

People protested, and Andy Ngo provided raw, on-the-ground reporting supported by mainstream news outlets

Drooling leftwing sub-morons pushed back at Andy Ngo's reporting.  They really "roasted" him with this!
The group SoCal Antifa had promoted a counter-protest beforehand and footage shows people who wore items associated with the Antifa movement at the scene. However, officials have not attributed the violence to any particular group, despite Ngo’s assertions.
What say you?

  1. I haven't read him, but I criticized him here a week or so ago for "shoddy journalism" so I'll explain what I meant by that. I don't object to his subject matter, I want coverage of these areas, but I think it's important that journalistic standards be upheld; Ngo has a reputation for cherry picking, misquoting, double standards etc. I have not investigated how well deserved that reputation is.

    1. "cherry picking, misquoting, double standards etc"

You just described 99% of US journalism!

Andy Ngo hates fascism, so he has really burrowed in on giving us an inside view of the nation's largest and most dangerous fascist group, antifa.

Like many clever far lefties today, antifa, their supporters and propaganda arms love playing semantical jiggery pokery, claiming "thats not antifa!" and "roasting" anyone who claims something is antifa.

Our debased press play the willing toadies by reminding us there is no such organization as antifa that issues membership cards, etc.

The press also loves pointing out that almost every time an antifa street fascist is prosecuted, the prosecuting document doesn't mention antifa one time.

So, like any good terrorist organization, they are everywhere and nowhere, aided by Democrat office holders at every level of government. The Democrats have learned their history well. Every legitimate party that wants to tip it all over and burn it all down needs violent street radicals to do the dirty work.

      Then why bring it up?
      I know why.

    3. I didn't "bring it up", it's something that I recently mentioned in passing. Since he is the subject of today's post, I thought I'd clarify the amount (in this case, lack) of evidence I had to back that up, but my original remark was very casual.
Do you think we should only mention opinions that we have thoroughly researched ourselves? That might be laudible but I don't go that far, I'm comfortable with propagating received wisdom and baseless claims, as long as I'm open about those opinions' providence.

  2. I have to say that I'm losing the bubble here, and am no longer sure which side is protesting which side of what argument.

I know that is started when some women who really are women didn't want men who are pretending to be women, or who think they are women, but who everybody else knows are men, to be naked in the women's locker room. That seems reasonable to me, but then I'm an old guy. I have stayed out of women's locker rooms my whole life. Well, there was that one time when I was young and drunk, but I accomplished nothing and quite properly got in trouble for that.

So I couldn't figure out which side Andy Ngo was on. His writing seemed mostly gibberish to me. Lots of cant phrases, and slang, and poor grammar, to the point that I have no idea what he's saying. So I won't dignify him by disagreeing with him. I just ignore him.

Antifa is clearly against something they call fascism, but I'm not sure they know what fascism is, and in the clips I could not tell which side they were supporting. They were running off journalists, which I tend to think is a good Idea, but that would seem to be leaving them supporting men in women's locker rooms. I remember when fascism ruled half of Europe, and it wasn't about allowing men in women's locker rooms.

    1. The antifa fascists just like to destroy property and do violence to people, usually people who are older and/or weaker. Their record against the younger and stronger is not good.

    2. I read a great interview a few years ago of a guy who had been attracted to and recruited to Antifa.
But he got wise and got out.
It was insightful. Wish I had the link now.

    3. was it about Gabriel Nadales? Search turns up a lot of likely-looking links...

  3. There's no evidence that Andy Ngo was wrong about Antifa either.

    2. Seems to me that in the absence of proof of responsibility. the folks criticizing Andy of "imprecision" are exercising the same standard themselves.

  4. I always find it interesting that women and men for that matter find great alarm in a published viewing of the male package. Agreed, no need to parade it around. Nor should anyone be placed in a position of a required viewing. Yet viewing women's sexual "package" is applauded and in fact has made its way to what some call Rule 5 of many reasonably conservative blogs. What is my point? To tell the truth after reading this array of comments I am not sure any more. I think it was to point out the dichotomy of the issue.

  5. They tout being a family fun spa with separate spaces for men and women. Young children were present. This provocateur comes in and displays himself to the women. Instead of being escorted out and even arrested for lewdness, the real women are told to pound sand. It's not about his rights. It's about tearing apart the social fabric, divide and conquer. The revolution will eat him eventually.

  6. So much for "safe spaces" - another trope to excise centrist and traditional values of the republic from the culture.
