RBG's Own Words

Ruth Bader Ginsburg's words — in 2016...

Another flashback — again, from 2016 (hat tip to Mike's America)...

As Mike's America opined on September 19, 2020:
Like Obama, Trump has the duty under the Constitution to appoint a successor. The Senate has the power to confirm.

So...

  2. Politics is powered by lies, hypocrisy and BS. Democrats have used leftwing judges to impose their anti-American programs that they couldn't get the American people to vote for. President Trump has put a huge dent in that strategy. It's that simple.

    3. Since it seem self-evident, Canardo, that being alive in this world means we are going to HAVE to be bossed and tosed around by SOMEONE –– or SOMTHING –– why would YOU –– or ANYONE with even the most modest presence of intellectal acumen –– prefer the domneering, almost invariably oppressive presence of an arbitrary, certain-to-be corrupt totalitarian regime to admittedly too powerful corporate entity.

I agree that BOTH are bad, because I believe BIG s BAD, and SMALL is at least BETTER if not purely GOOD.

With Products generated by Industry, we at least have the OPTION of NOT BUYING a product we don't like.

With GOVERNMENT it's WYSIWYG all the way an to HELL with YOU if you don't like it.

GOVERNMENT, NO MATTER WHAT IT PURPORTS TO BE, ALWAYS HOLDS A MONOPOLY ON POWER, AND THAT IS WHY I CAN'T BRING MYSELF EITHER TO LIKE IT OR TRUST IT.

  3. By Erick Erickson (formerly, a Never Trumper) in a mass email:

...We are here, at this moment particularly, because of something too few want to say out loud. One of those oligarchs decided to gamble with her own life, impervious to calls for removal, so that she could try to shape the balance of the United States Supreme Court.

She could have left while Obama was still there. But no, Ruth Bader Ginsburg decided to hang on through a pancreatic cancer fight hoping to use herself as a rallying cry for the left to mobilize in November and shape the election.

Now, thanks to her pride, we’re going to get more riots...

You know full well that what happened with Garland involved a lot more than fringe right hypocrites.

Fair warning...pursue that line of argument, and I'll delete you.

  4. Thanks to her self centeredness she placed the entire nation at risk leaving a 8 member court number to deal with the endless legal battles that no doubt will result from the upcoming election. She knew for months she was dying. She should have allowed an orderly transition to take place. Rather she chose to upend the process. How could it be allowed that we should have had this "sudden death" on a Friday night? Everyone knew last June that it was game over for her.

  6. Ducky is right to distrust corporations; they have too much influence on our government/society. I suppose it would help if we weren’t infested with corrupt politicians —a condition, IMO, that makes no distinction between political parties. The problem is that Ducky would rather replace “corporate” with authoritarian government. Hardly a winning strategy. So far over many years, I have never seen any inspired Ducky solutions to our problems —only pro-communist platitudes. In fairness to Ducky, there may be no solution to these problems, which leads us to some understanding of his frustrations and something that many of us may share. All civilized institutions are human constructs —and therefore flawed. Advocating for smaller (not larger) government could be a first step in controlling government, but it doesn’t do much about the corporate issues. For that, you need people wise enough to realize that there is power in the purse. Pissed off at ADM or Tyson’s ... buy from another company. There are anti-corporate advocacy groups, but I have never once heard from them: no mailings, phone calls, emails, local meetings —nada. The only anti-corporate success stories I know about involve either major lawsuits or extortionists involved with the Rainbow Coalition. But I have to admit that it’s fun watching Ducky’s head explode.

      I agree.

But this is the reality: each state has gotten the government the electorate voted into office.

Now, did the electorate learn a lesson? I have my doubts!

    3. Fair Assessment Mustang. Even using electron microscopes, I cannot find a suitable reason to put an entity (the government) in charge of anything when they FUBAR everything they get their hands on with no accountability or responsibility or even interest in the outcome for the customer (the population). Undeniable proof of an irreversible mental disease.

  7. While I completely agree with Conservative-Libertarians' detestation of the late Justice Ginsburg's leftist, manifestly unconstituional, anti-American, pro-Globalist thoughts on POLICY-MAKING, I believe it important to recognize, –– as the late Antonin Scalia did ––, that her unique identity as a WOMAN, a PERSON and FELLOW HUMAN BEING deserves more respect, consideration –– and APPRECIATION –– exclusive of her politics.

SCALIA and GINSBURG could not had been farther apart politically. Their professed personal ideals were diametrically opposed, YET both were smart –– and humane enough –– to appreciate the considerable virtues, and remarkable accomplishments each had attained.

RBG was a Red Diaper Baby born into the Brooklyn Jewish Community that almost universally embraced and actively promoted COMMUNISM in the first half of the twentieth-century –– beyond. Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were, perhaps, the most egregious exemplars of the deplorable mentality that prevailed particularly among Brooklyn Jews at the time. If you don't want to believe me, please read David Howowitz's confessional condemnation of his OWN Jewish family and the vhemently seditious JEWISH COMMUNIST COMMUNITY of which they were active advocates and devoted supporters.

No one can help the milieu into which he was born, any more than a Negro can be held personally responsible for the color of his skin, or a homosexual can be held responsible for his sexual orientation. Hope still springs eternal that the moral blindness that comes with traditional ethnic and cultural traits and mores may one day be overcome.

THAT SAID, I HOPE AND PRAY WITH ALL MY HEART THAT PRESIDENT TRUMP AND THE SO-C ALLED REPUBLICANS IN POWER WILL VERY QUICKLY NOMINATE, VET AND CONFIRM A GENUINE ... C_H_R_I_S_T_I_A_N ... CONSTITUTIONAL ORIGINALIST, CONSERVATIVE-LIBERTARIAN TO FILL THE VACANCY FORTUITOUSLY LEFT ON THE SUPREME COURT BY RBG'S LONG-AWAiTED, LONG-DELAYED, AND FRANKLY ... W_E_L_C_O_M_E ... DEMISE.

Any attempt to COMPROMISE with DemonRats –– or meet them halfway in a hoped for ambience of Old World-style "COLLEGIALITY"–– is tantamount to SURRENDER to THE most PROFOUND and VICIOUS... E_V_I_L ... we've had to face since the RUSSIAN REVOLUTION which gave rise to STALINISM and the tragically inpproptiate policies embraced by HITLER'S THIRD REICH –– teen manifestatins of our EVIL which have DOMINATED World Politics since our failure to ANNIHILATE them in the TWENTIETH-CENTURY.

    1. Franco,
Yes, you've said that before. Scalia somehow made peace with RBG's politics in order to enjoy other activities.

As you know, I don't admire RBG on any level. Nor do I excuse Red Diaper Babies. They have to grow up and take personal responsibility.

      My two cents.

That said, would you weigh in on the topics presented in this blog post?

For one: RBG said one thing in 2016, then said another on her deathbed.

And what about the threats of violence? Should they be taken into account and deter Trump and the Senate?

  8. OUTONA LIMB WROTE THE FOLLOWING AT ANOTHER BLOG. I LIKED IT WELL ENUGH TO RPEAT ELSEWHERE IN THE BLOGOSPHERE

Trump is a Christ-like figure, who has like the original Jesus, sacrificed himself to the wanton savagery and barbaric cruelty of an inherently vicious establishment in hopes of saving s basically decent, but tragically miseducated, ignorantized population of dupes and innocent victimes of satanic forces determined to destroy Good and supplant it with Evil. But unike Jesus Christ ,Donald Trump is not God, so if he is defeated this time, there wll be no Resurrection, and no Hope whatsoever for Redemption in the future of this benighted race of human cr creatures who by rejecting Salvation yet again may very well consign themselves to Extinction –– the status of an experiment that failed. A fate we would richly deserve should we permit it to occur.

    It's the People's.
I heard the empty heads on CBS this morning say--
The Supreme Court Rulings can Amend The Constitution.
The empty heads must think all Lefty's will believe everything and anything the empty heads in the Alphabet Media tells the audience.
And when the President and Senate are of the same Party-the President's Appointment to the Supreme Court at the end of the President's term can be Voted on. It isn't the same - as the other Party not Voting for the other Party's Presidential Supreme Court Nominee at the end of Term- Presidential Election Year.

  17. Notorious RBG on packing the Supreme Court (Spoiler alert! She's against it):

“Well, if anything, it would make the court appear partisan. It would be that one side saying, ‘when we’re in power, it was only to enlarge the number of judges so we will have more people who will vote the way we want them to,'” she said. “So I am not at all in favor of that solution to what I see as a temporary situation.”
