See Two months since the riots, and still no “National Conversation” by Michael Tracey (July 26, 2020). Excerpt:

We are now approaching the two-month mark since the riots that erupted across the United States in late May and early June. There is a reasonable argument to be made that these riots were unprecedented in U.S. history — or at the very least, since the 1960s. Yet if one surveyed the national media today, you’d barely even know anything happened. Nor would you likely be aware that those who bore the brunt of the destruction — largely minorities whose sensibilities don’t fit into any neatly-delineated ideological category — are still acutely suffering from the fallout.

Yes, civil unrest has of course occurred before. But the riots of 2020 exhibited features which belie any easy historical parallel. For one thing, consider their enormous geographic scope. While the most extreme riots in cities like New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, and particularly Minneapolis did receive considerable attention — however fleeting, incomplete, and unnecessarily inflected with knee-jerk partisanship — there were also smaller-scale riots in surprisingly far-flung places that you hardly would’ve known about unless you lived in the area, happened to visit, or intentionally sought out what remains of the bare-bones local media coverage. To take just a small sampling: Atlantic City, NJ, Fort Wayne, IN, Green Bay, WI, and Olympia, WA all underwent significant riots, at least per the normal expectations of life in these relatively low-key cities. Did you hear anything about them? Because I hadn’t, and I’m abnormally attuned to daily media coverage. Only because I personally visited did I learn of the damage.

For the vast most part, WE THE PEOPLE can only be informed as much as the Enemedia want us to be informed.  How can WE THE PEOPLE really remain informed?  By seeking out alternative media!

  1. The fearsome entity I quite rightly have been calling the ENEMEDIA for over twenty years, is a unified CENTRALIZED POWER BLOC that long ago evolved into a wicked Medium for quasi-Hypnoti Mind Control of the Masses.

The ENEMEDIA does not seek Truth and does not report ANYHING that does not serve the nefarious purpose of subtly, and not-so-subtly INDOCTRINATING the Public to regard CULTURAL MARXISM not only as an ACCEPTABLE form of governance, but as a PREFERABLE alternative to the loosely federated Reresentative Republic of sovereign states with minimal central governent and maximal opportnities for individuals to "pursue happiness" AS THEY SEE FIT –– the system our Founders fought a bloody revolution to establish andbequeath to future generations to enjoy, maintain, and build upon.

The Unholy Alliance of the PROFESSORIAT-NEWS and ENTERTAINMENT MEDIA, JUDICIARY an ORGANIZED LABOR is diametrically opposed to FREEDOM of CHOICE and CONSCIENCE –– to the United States of America as founded.

Since most people don't THINK, –– probably because they're too busy trying to make ends meet and too easily beguiled by the meretricious, –– even malignant –– triviality ground out by the corruptive influence of our debased, diseased Popular Culture –– the masses ar highly vulnerable to these corrosive influences, and that, I believe, is why we have degenerated into the lamentable condition that is literally killing us today.

    1. Hi Franco,

People are catching on. The Infotainment Media Complex has beshat itself and is now held in lower regard than congress.

Here's a piece of news you have to dig for...

81% of Black people want the same amount of policing in their neighborhoods, or MORE.

The BLM Corporation doesn't give a damn about Black people.

    2. SF; You are SO right. I've had 'conversations' on FB with Black people I don't know...they're really sick of even the idea of defunding their safety...because that's what it is; it's not defunding police....it should be called DEFUNDING OUR SAFETY and should be an election campaign slogan for the Right this year.

    3. Z,
it should be called DEFUNDING OUR SAFETY

Yes, let's call it what it is!

    4. AOW...I WISH Trump would use that expression because it's absolutely true and sounds more realistic than just "DEFUND" ...

  2. The lack of clearly stated and measurable objectives leads me to conclude the authors of this unrest (unlike the good people they claim to be fighting for) don't want to solve anything. Some just want to destroy and burn, others want to "fundamentally transform" the nation, while others want to keep the lucrative grievance franchise going.

It is important to note this is coming from white leftists. They can burn and destroy black neighborhoods and agitate for policies that render policing impotent, because they don't live there.

    This is sick and insidious.

  3. When the dust settles we are all people looking to keep our families provided for and safe. Whether it is a pandemic or civil unrest. First we look to ourselves to see what we maybe are lacking to confront what is happening. Second I would reach out to any network I might have or who and what I can count on. Third I would search out locally what I can do to help or what protocals are available. Lastly I would expect our sworn leaders to protect us with the resources that were taken from our yearly
Salaries. We voted and trusted that these individuals would govern through good and bad. Governed as we elected them in our interest through the election process. With our districts defined and our values and morals being in a sense individualy defined we should get the results that the voting process was put in place for. There should NEVER be a media input or MONEY donation influence. WE are the American people that voted and put representatives in power as it is clear, a representative. Shame on them all for cowering and pandering!!

  4. The media film clips are carefully screened to avoid showing what amateur clips made on iPhones show regularly, which is that BLM and Antifa rioters are predominately not black people. They are about 90% white females.

    3. Dave, you're so right. That sounded like a Biden comment and I AM GLAD you corrected it..I will now delete and reprint because it even offends ME!! ..Of course, I meant MOST thinking Americans..Black and White.

    4. Jayhawk, that's right. I've had conversations with Black Americans who hate the rioting more than many people think they do. And yes, I don't think it's 90% female (I've seen too much footage so I know that's not the case) but there are a lot of females. This just proves what most Conservatives have been saying for years...our schools are indoctrination centers. That's why I'm not that worried about school closures this year, sadly. So what if they stop learning America's about nothing but a history slavery and oppression? This country immigrants have always dreamed of living in? :-)

I wanted to point the error out to you, but was stuck sitting forever in a doctor's office; I could see comments but not reply to them. My doctor was way behind schedule, and I thought I'd never get out of there.

  5. Read this, and read it very carefully!
If Joe Biden chose Kamala Harris as his Vice President, and may God forbid it, but if he wins.. .and if crazy Joe cannot serve his full term, amd that’s the way that it looks right now. Them Kamala Harris cannot by constitutional law become President. She is an anchor baby, mother is from India, father is Jamaican, and neither were american citizens at time of her birth.
That means the Presidency would fall in the direction of the Speaker of the house. Nancy Pelosi, who would be next in line to become President. THAT in itself is reason to vote HER OUT in November, and NOT to vote for Joe Binden for President. .
Democrats have worked the whole scenario out and I believe that is why they chose Kamala Harris. Voter fraud is in the works to get Nancy Pelosi as President.
Cast your votes carefully in November, VOTE for Donald TRUMP as our President, or USA will become a third world !

    1. Bob... here's what the Constitution says about qualifications for the presidency... "the President must be 35 years of age, be a natural born citizen, and must have lived in the United States for at least 14 years."

By law, no one can assume, or run for the Vice Presidency is they do not meet these qualifications.

By virtue of being born in Oakland, CA, living here her entire life and being over 35 years old, Harris is fully qualified.

      End of story.

    2. Dave is right....she was born here. End of story. I know people who know here, have served on Boards with her, and she's not at all well liked but, other than in hearings and debates where she's appeared uncommonly nasty and mean-spirited, most people are going for her....amazing.

    3. Z... I get that people can disagree with Harris, but to question not her qualifications, but essentially her right to run for the office smacks of something more. Nice to see you agree.

I think it's time all Americans stop looking for racism in everything.

      HEAR! HEAR!

The accusing of everything has made the term racist mean null for me.

  6. Bravo, Mustang...so well said. It is so pathetic ...and cruel at the same time. George Soros? Huh. I wonder how ANTIFA could arrive in Mercedes vans in Idaho, before gun owners scared them right back onto those Mercedes vans which pulled out of Idaho pretty quickly? :-)

  7. Besides the black conservatives that are my friends, I run into blacks at work and even the store who, when I make a pointed comment in their earshot, reply with disdain for Obama and the left.

  8. I'll add my voice to the chorus. Citizenship of parents is irrelevant. Being born on American soil is sufficient to qualify as being a "natural born citizen." Since the office is, by design, created to succeed the president the qualifications for vice president are necessarily the same as for president. If she were not qualified to succeed, she would not be qualifies to serve as vice president.

BUT NOWHERE DOES IT SAY THAT THE CANDIDATE CAN BE A FRUITCAKE!

    1. Nor does it say that the candidate cannot be one, and many past presidents have been.

      Delete
    2. That's exactly right Bob. A candidate can be a Marxist, a Pseudo Dictator, and Rightwing Bigot or a Nazi. As long as they meet the three constitutionally prescribed conditions, age, place of birth and living in the states, they have a right to run for the presidency.

But that was not what you posited above. Thankfully, even conservatives have shown up to show that your previous comment was, plainly stated, wrong.

I think you have it right. In fact I suspect there is a large portion who thinks that BLM believes almost the precise opposite of what it actually does.

  15. Is there any thought that many people support "some" of what Black Lives Matter stands for but not all? I know many people who affirm the concept yet don't get into the weeds of political stuff BLM propagates.

Frankly, I doubt as a Dem, I'd want to be 100% defined by the party platform. I bet most GOP supporters also never support the platform 100%.

Is it possible this is the same type of issue?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Dave, the DONATION button on the BLM website goes only to ActBlue, a Dem fundraising arm....of course Democrats would be for that. And yes, BLM has some good points; but who DOESN'T think Black lives matter?? WHO? You know anybody? I don't. It's done nothing but damage race relations at this point, or at least the most violent among them are......they have nothing to do with what happened to Mr. Floyd and, for that, who could support them? Why isn't the leadership of BLM screaming against the violence, destruction, burning, ? When they do....that'll be great. Good luck on that.
