  1. Well crikey, it's a busy part of London. I bet there were thousands of passers-by (at least before the crowds were dispersed), some of them would of course be muslims, and if a casualty is already being attended to I'd pass by too -- extra people crowding around don't help. This is not a surprising picture, although of course it is just a snap, we don't know what her reaction was immediately before and after it was taken.

I'm becoming more and more appalled at the obsession with interacting with electronic devices.

Not to the point of indifference, I hope.

    3. Of course I wouldn't be indifferent, but I can't guarantee that my profound sympathy would be visible in any photograph that might be taken with us both in shot.
As for her phone, she might be looking at a map, public transport schedules, checking the news (understandable, given the circumstances)... none of that would be appalling IMO. But then, I'm not appalled by general phone use, sorry. Let them play "cake mania".

However illegal, impolitic, inadvisable, unconstitutional, un-American, immoral or impracticable others claim it to be we should maintain a position of absolute intolerance for a Muslim Presence in OUR world.

When the Handwriting on the Wall sends a clear, uncompromising message, and STILL we fail to heed its stern warning, we DESERVE to be ECLIPSED.

FACE IT: Either it's DIDADIN or BE DAMNED.

    1. FT,
Can any of us here even imagine that DIDADIN will ever happen?

That said, our government should come up with a policy for dealing with the militant Muslims in our midst. Where is the coherent policy?

Yesterday, UK Prime Minister May issued a feel-good statement. But the truth is that fear is inevitable after an Islamomaniac mows down and stabs to death people minding their own business on Westminster Bridge and at the gate to Parliament.

    3. Jez,
Do you remember a time when things like this didn't happen in the West -- or happened so rarely -- that we didn't have much concern for our personal safety? I remember a time like that.

I agree that terrorism will never be fully eradicated. But lighting candles, shrugging, and declaring "We are not afraid" are not strategies for curbing terrorism.

Do you know the story of the Cochrans, the husband and wife, who were victims of the Westminster attack? A tragedy? Yes. But worse: they were the victims of multiculturalist political leaders, who are never held to account.

    5. "Do you remember a time when things like this didn't [or only rarely] happen in the West ... ?"

No. I was born into a country that was attacked regularly by the IRA. And in America, you've had more than one mass shooting a year since the '70s. You might feel less safe, but I don't believe you are really -- traffic accidents are about the only aspect of life that has genuinely become more dangerous in our lifetime.

"... declaring "We are not afraid" are not strategies for curbing terrorism."

Agreed, they're strategies for denying terrorism's aims. The terrorist craves attention, fear and disruption, and by pointedly denying him those things, terrorism is and *is seen to be* ineffective.

Obviously it's not a full response, there should be intelligent preventative measures too. But we've got professionals in charge of that, the best thing for the rest of us is not to loose our minds over it.

You may disagree with "multiculturalist political leaders" but they are sincerely doing their best to minimize violence. I'm not sure the same can be said of FreeThinke's ridiculous scheme, which is pretty much what I'd do if I wanted to invite / incite violence on a much larger scale.

  5. ISLAM is a CANCER. on the CORPUS MUNDI.

Like any form of the dread disease it must be treated with AGGRESSIVE ATTACKS ––

POISONED to DEATH with CHEMOTHERAPY -–

BURNED to DEATH with RADIATION ––

or CUT OUT SURGICALLY and DISPOSED of as the HAZARDOUS WASTE it is.

Anyone who does not believe this is an IMBECILE.

CANCER cannot be dealt with DIPLOMATICALLY.

CANCER cannot be REASONED out of EXISTENCE, it must be PHYSICALLY DESTROYED.

The morons who do not believe this, and would self-righteously defend the indefensible sit IMMERSED, HAMSTRUNG, and DROWNING in MYRIAD bits of DATA, as always, instead of getting to the ROOT, DIGGING it OUT, and BURNING it.

Any attempt to be "REASONABLE" about the dire THREAT ISLAM poses to DECENT PEOPLE everywhere in the WORLD is a complete WASTE of TIME and ENERGY.

When it is clearly a KILL or BE KILLED situation, only a FOOL would FAIL to mount as strong and vicious a COUNTERATTACK as may be mustered.

If the WEST is to SURVIVE, __ I-S-L-A-M __ M-U-S-T __ D-I-E.

Nothing has occurred that would cause me to add to, subtract from, or modify my adamant stance.

If WE don't rid ourselves of ISLAM in the WEST, ISLAM will DESTROY the WEST.

As Poole wrote at one point in his essay:

What's the use of having a "terror watch list" if all Western authorities are going to do is watch them kill the citizens they are paid to protect?

  8. And let's not forget about this from London Mayor Sadiq Kahn:

Shortly after a bomb was successfully detonated in lower Manhatten last September and another bomb was found a few blocks away, Sadiq Kahn – the newly elected Muslim mayor of London – tried to normalize the attack by explaining that events like this are just part of living in a big city.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has said that living with terror attacks – like the one that hit New York at the weekend – is ‘part and parcel of living in a big city’.

Mr Khan told the Evening Standard: ‘It is a reality I’m afraid that London, New York, other major cities around the world have got to be prepared for these sorts of things.

‘That means being vigilant, having a police force that is in touch with communities, it means the security services being ready, but also it means exchanging ideas and best practice.’

And now we read this: Trump Jr. Called a 'Disgrace' for Criticizing London Mayor (Bloomberg, March 23, 2017).

People are mowed down and stabbed -- and the West lights a few candles, then yawns.

    Sheesh.

Will this be predicated on a presumption the the "west" has a singular view of Islam...or religion?

I also have to wonder why those who engage on dogmatic whining about the need to commit genocide against Muslims, don't carry out what they believe 'must' happen for the safety of western civilization. Could they be mewling cowards?

    Daily Mail (UK),

    by Richard Spillett, Martin Robinson

The British-born jihadi who killed four and injured 29 in Westminster was last night revealed to be a middle-aged criminal career who MI5 had investigated in the past and had a previous conviction for stabbing a man in the nose. English teacher Khalid Masood, 52, a ´lone wolf´ attacker, who was living in the Birmingham area, had a series of convictions for assault and other crimes. Scotland Yard revealed how Masood was known by a number of aliases and MailOnline can reveal he was born Adrian Elms to a single mother in Kent before his religious conversion...

As a Muslim, I am Shocked by Liberals and Leftists.

Brief excerpt, but barely touches the content of the essay:

Finally, a short message to liberals might go: Dear Liberal, If you truly stand for values such as peace, social justice, liberty and freedoms, your apologetic view of radical Islam is in total contradiction with all of those values. Your view even hinders the efforts of many Muslims to make a peaceful reformation in Islam precisely to advance the those values.
