    4. A discourse on Hegel seems out of place in this instance...as it's an absolute truth that there was no "massacre" at Bowling Green. Conway's remark is more appropriately valued as "fake news".

Lying....it's not just the currency of the Left....

    5. Obama, and Obama's actual 6 month long immigration Visa suspension, are the "vanishing mediators" in the Bowling Green story that ducky's trying to pretend "aren't there. "

No, there was no massacre... just a broken up terrorist cell that was attempting to get their hands on some Stinger missiles...

Hammadi and Alwan pleaded guilty to taking part in a plot to ship thousands of dollars in cash, machine guns, rifles, grenades and shoulder-fired missiles from Kentucky to al-Qaida in Iraq in 2010 and 2011. Hammadi is serving a life sentence, and Alwan, who prosecutors called an experienced militant, received a 40-year prison sentence.

    6. Don't be silly, Farmer.
The Obama edict tightened the vetting after it was discovered that two refugees in Bowling Green were admitted who should have been excluded.
It did not completely suspend immigration.

There was nothing for any sane person to protest.

    7. It did not completely suspend immigration.

Ducky, That's not what ABC News reported.

"As a result of the Kentucky case, the State Department stopped processing Iraq refugees for six months in 2011, federal officials told ABC News – even for many who had heroically helped U.S. forces as interpreters and intelligence assets. One Iraqi who had aided American troops was assassinated before his refugee application could be processed..."

    8. @CI - My ideology isn't predicated on cult of personality nor hypocrisy.

Sure it is. I don't pretend that selective fact picking (alternative facts) is "beyond the pale", aka "Lying". I maintain that "language" could not function w/o it.

      Delete
    9. from my link above:

This is why the critique of ideology has to contain a theory of constructed ignorance: one of the main lessons of the critique of ideology is that it is not only knowledge that is socially constructed but also ignorance- in all its fifty shades from simply not knowing that we don't know to a polite ignoring of what we know very well, and covering all intermediate levels, in particular the institutional Unconscious.

      Delete
    10. Well, you are pretending. Stating that a "massacre" happened, and further that "most people don't know about it" because "it wasn't covered".......is a lie. There's nothing "selective" about it. It's simply not true, as acknowledged by anyone who is not a sycophant.

Tell me again how my ideology is predicated on a cult of personality nor hypocrisy. Hell, tell me what my ideology is....that'll be fun. I expect entertaining projection and invention...please don't let me down on that.

      Delete
    11. ..and where did I state that a massacre happened? I said the opposite.

btw - How many locks were raped in "The Rape of the Lock"?

      Delete
    12. I fond it fascinating that you see utility in referencing philosophical theory unrelated to the point you'r trying to make. I've not referenced what yousaid about Bowling Green....but what Conway said, as well as your reflexive inability to see that as a lie.

      Delete
    13. She admitted to mis-speaking. She says that she had meant to use the word "terrorists". That you (et al) won't accept her explanation is more a reflection upon your active desire to deliberately misinterpret her words and twist her intentions into "deliberate lies" merely serves as a tactic to obfuscate her very real and valid points. Have a little caritas.

      Delete
    14. This is why what Hegel calls "negativity" can also be put in terms of insight and blindness- as the "positive" power of blindness, of ignoring parts of reality....

      Delete
    15. And my philosophical point is SPOT ON.

Truly shocking that you think so......./sarc

Interesting reframing however....so, you're saying that instead of stating: "were radicalized and were the masterminds behind the Bowling Green massacre".......she meant to state: "were radicalized and were the masterminds behind the Bowling Green terrorists. Nope, not buying it...unless her command of the English language is worse than most.

Was it also a misinterpretation when she stated "Most people don’t know that because it didn’t get covered"? When in fact it was...according to your own link?

      Delete
    16. What part of the "vanishing mediators" part of my argument didn't you comprehend?

Deliberately misunderstanding/ misinterpretting people is ALSO a form of lying. I have no problem when you do it to yourself, CI.

Yes, the Iraqi visa suspension was covered by media in 2011. It has, however, "vanished" from MSM coverage in 2017. THAT is her point. The Left's "institutional memory" is repressing "alternative facts", NOT a REAL MASSACRE.

      Delete
    17. Nope...but I admire the way you twist yourself into knots defending here.

Had she said that it Isn't being covered...you'd have a fair point. But that's not what she said, was it. She said it didn't get covered...past tense, at the time of the event.

      Delete
    18. Alternative facts is a politically correct linguistic invention of the current Administration. You wouldn't give the term any credibility, were it proffered and employed during the last Administration.....would you?

      - "you have NOTHING to OFFER, but sniping, sneering derision, relentless negativity, and idiotic academic hair-splitting in a relentless attempt to redefine our vocabulary to create confusion among the unaware, and give the illusion of possessing superior knowledge."

Bombastic hypocrisy is a fine art, only mastered by a few. Though they deserve our pity....every court needs a Fool.

In modern thought however, such loud and aggressive persons...indeed should be avoided, no?

I'd heard that Robert Reich has spewed that Berkeley Rioters Were Actually Secret Right Wingers, but I hadn't before seen the video. He's quite insistent, isn't he? Pfffft.

BTW, the link also brought up this video:

    28. I'm not really sure why Leftists seem to think that asserting the Berkeley riots were the work of 'right wing agitators'. Barring an admission of guilt from said agitators......their allegation is countered by decades of video evidence of left wing, violent protests.

      To quote Trump....Dumb!

Yea AOW...that used to happen to me too and I have gobs of RAM in my machine too. So...a tip I found that's the total answer to this vexing problem. A Free little web app / program called GHOSTERY. It's free and you can customize it to stop all ads....facebook comments...videos....ads...the works. And it lets you selectively turn on things you want. I just block it all except fore Disqus so I can comment on many web sites. I guarantee you'll be satisfied. Just install it...some browsers let you use it as an extension...like Chrome does. But it works on all browsers I think.

  6. I liked the meme. It illustrates the absurdity of the left, who love to prattle on and on about absolutely anything and nothing incessantly (see above) blah blah blah blah. Meanwhile, winning!

    1. It is a shame that consternation over Bannon's cabana boy and provocateur par excellence, Milo took place. It's pointless.

But meanwhile, here' an example of what the pathetic demented right is cooking up ... WINNING, YAY!

You really are as sad as the miners in coal country who have been suckered into believing that Lord Dampnut (anagram) will bring back the jobs while all they lose their health insurance.

      Yeah, you'll be winning.
In a few months, try to collect your thoughts and honestly explain what you've won.

It's victories as far as we can see.

  7. SO sad that your image was put aside for the other conversation! So important. Would that liberals would finally wake up. They call Conservatives FASCISTS then deny Cons. to speak at universities? They call Fascists CONS and insist they're right and Cons are wrong....you just can't make this crap up.

      Apparently.

Wasn't Milo invited to speak at UC Berkeley?

    4. Milo was invited by a student group, to speak at UC....another student group, of the ironically themed "free speech" crowd.....violently opposed him.

      Delete
    5. Not at all, AOW.
The women's march and the rallies against the Muslim ban were large (breaking records in several cities) and completely non violent.

Acting out against Milo was an isolated event and hardly representative. That's demonstrable.
The protests are ill advised since without them Milo would dry up like a pavement dog turd in the sun.

As far as collective guilt on the right. I wouldn't call it guilt so much collective gullibility.

      Delete
    6. Ducky, you might want to view the easy to find video evidence, of Leftist *ahem* "free speech" protests, at every Milo speaking engagement at college campuses.

      Gullible indeed......

    7. It is curious that it follows Milo and before him Ben Shapiro, another Breitfart poltroon. Without the demonstrations these two jerks would be nothing. They have certainly, like the Breitfart site, never elicited any in depth discussion or idea.

Why Milo? Interesting question. There are always questions around him like the 250,000 that was contributed to his "whites only" scholarship fund that the Guardian was trying to track down. Speculation is a lot went up his nose. Milo still hasn't produced the cash.

He's scum and I wouldn't put it past him to false flag these protests. There the only thing that keeps him going, really.

I'll will still state that the demonstrations against President Busy Hands have been extremely large and completely non violent with the exception of some anarchists after the inauguration who were not representative of the left in general.
I have never seen so large a march in Boston. Nothing close, even back in the day. Not so much as a disorderly conduct arrest. That's something right wants to ignore in favor of promoting a crap burger like Milo.

      Delete
    8. All you've done is regurgitate your dislike of Milo. Congratulations....now you know how Conservatives feel about Leftist cause celebre's. You've not refuted the video evidence of violent and disruptive Leftist protests against.....free speech.

Nor have you demonstrated what actual impact the massive gatherings of like minded tantrum-throwers have wrought. I'll give you a hint.....nothing.

      Delete
    9. Are you saying that I don't acknowledge there have been violent demonstrations when he's scheduled to speech.

Here's turd burger Milo's idea of speech

Here's a good article on Milo's concern for free speech
Anyway, what passes for "speech" these days is pretty thin gruel.

As I said, turd burger Milo should be allowed to speak, the protests should be peaceful if he's protested at all (better to ignore him).

Have the demonstrations managed to coalesce a resistance? Probably not. More's the pity because this clown is going to rob you freaking blind and it's sad that you're going to sleep right through it,

So each side dislikes the other. Thanks for cluing me in to that, I never would have guessed.

  8. BY THE WAY, AOW...have you noticed the leftwing memes they share? "CHAOS AND CONFUSION" was said at least six different times on CNN, ABC, NBC and I believe MSNBC about the travel 'ban' that's not a ban. Coincidence? Not on your life. DNC instructions? what else?

    1. Seemed chaotic to me, Z.

Locally several academics were returning to jobs at two of the finest training and research hospitals in the world as well as students at M.I.T.
Luckily, a judge put a restraining order on the travel ban so that people who are valid green card and visa holders were able to disembark after they were banned in flight.

But maybe that's your idea of order.
