The Unstoppable Establishment

Silverfiddle Rant!
If the past decade or so has not convinced you we are not a nation of laws, but rather a nation of The Establishment, by the Establishment, and for The Establishment, then nothing will.  Please stop reading this and put your head back in its storage compartment.

Obama ignored federal law and implemented DACA by royal decree, and it was all cool.  Trump tried to end it, but the progressive mullahs in black robes forbade him from doing so.

Obama and Clinton pardoned rich donors, terrorists, and politically-connected cronies. Trump Pardons General Flynn, and there are rumblings of a judicial challenge, all this after Judge Emmett Sullivan delays justice and conducts the prosecution on his own, running out the clock on the Trump Justice Department so Biden's team can continue the lawfare persecution against General Flynn.
"USA Today just issued an op-ed piece suggesting that the pardon of General Flynn could “be challenged in court as self-dealing, corrupt, and therefore illegal.” USAToday offered no evidence. Yet its piece also suggests such a challenge could prosper on appeal." (NY Sun)
This after it has been proven General Flynn's only crime was daring to stand up to Emperor Obama.

  1. Hah...Flynn's only crime? Even casting aside his toxic leadership at DIA [which I've witnessed the effects of]....he's a national security nightmare in terms of relationships with foreign intelligence....and I don't mean causal pen pals. Now, he's fully onboard the QAnon crackpot express.

Yep...great dude. There were clearly some unprofessional/unethical issues surrounding his indictment and those have been exposed...but I laugh at notions that the only reason he was "fired" [his 2 yr term wasn't renewed]...was that he "stood up to" Obama.

This Administration has proven itself to be just as much of the 'establishment' and just as big a part of the 'Swamp' as any other.

Both terms of course having no real meaning, like "deep state".

Your first paragraph is sound, but then transitions to exclusionary. Just my opinion, but I'd avoid lambasting any POTUS for pardoning cronies...until this POTUS leaves office next month.

    1. You totally missed the point and swerved into your own pet bugaboos, but thanks for playing.

I avoid the term 'Deep State' because it triggers people, but yes Virginia, there really is an Establishment. Nothing dark or nefarious, just enduring and impervious.

    2. I'm not the one who wrote "This after it has been proven General Flynn's only crime was daring to stand up to Emperor Obama."

And you made my point about the 'establishment'.

    3. Do you agree with the charges against General Flynn? Also, you appear to be alleging other criminal activity. Why was he not charged with that?

      Delete
    4. Do you deny the existence of standing bureaucracies, and people at high levels who drift in and out of them, and who have a high level of influence on US policy?

      Delete
    5. To your second point, why would I deny the existence of standing bureaucracies? What would lead you to ask such, when I specifically said that this Administration was not immune to feeding that entity...their protestations aside.

To your first [his lying to the FBI aside], I'm not alleging criminal activity, though you or I would certainly faced charges for disclosing classified information to foreign military officers, while serving in uniform. But good question, why wasn't he charged? He was part of the establishment.

I'm alleging that he was an irresponsible choice as NSA, due to his relationships foreign intelligence agencies and employment with foreign governments [which he also did not voluntarily disclose]. I'll leave out running the DIA into the ground as not being germane to your question.

    6. Are you alleging that Flynn didn't lie to the FBI or shouldn't have been charged? Or for his nondisclosure violations?

    7. CI... as to Flynn, everything I have seen from folks happy with his pardon runs along the lines of "these are process crimes" & "nothing to see here."

My struggle with stuff like that is folks usually aren't so lenient on poor folks who make those same claims. The white collar guys get off scot free for these while POC and folks with no money get the book thrown at them, even for similar crimes.

    8. Dave, I point out all the time that our legal system jobs little people while letting the well-connected off the hook.

    9. CI,

The FBI purposely set him up. Its documented.

Why wasn't he charged earlier, or denied a high position before he pissed off Emperor Obama? You answered it: He was a made man of the establishment. His fate shows what happens to those who wander off the reservation. Thank you for pointing that out.

    10. The FBI assessed that Flynn was going to lie to them [as he had lied to the VP]. The IG of the DoJ stated that the FBI’s predication to open that investigation was more than sufficient to satisfy the threshold prescribed by DOJ policies.

You're correct...it is documented.....but it was a setup. You can call it that if you like though.

It's nice [for some] when you have a weaponized DoJ who says, in regard to the Flynn case, "The department also said proving someone made a false statement to federal investigators requires more than a lie."

We at least agree, that he has "special" rights that you and I don't.

Can you define "pissed off Emperor Obama"? I know why his term at DIA wasn't renewed...and why the last Administration warned against giving him a national security position....but I'm curious about this line, because it seems to be a meme on the Right.

    11. CI, I'm not going to spoon feed you because you are triggered and hung up on a throwaway line. You know the whole soap opera. He publicly disagreed with Obama and Obama exercised his right to fire him.

Now, do you have any opinion on the point of this post, which is presidential pardons. Why all of a sudden, after many presidents have pardoned corrupt financier cronies, terrorists and drug dealers, this particular pardon has triggered a challenge? I'd love to think it was something other than Establishment TDS. Maybe someone can make that case.

      Delete
    12. Nope, no opinion that I'd share. It would be wasted on those who want to employ 'triggered'.

    13. I assume that most people are not partisan hacks and would agree that it wasn't OK when previous outgoing presidents did it either.

    14. Hypocrisy is the coin of the realm, Jez. I'm not really sure what the 'challenge' is against Flynn's pardon, since Sullivan granted the motion to dismiss the case as moot.

    15. Let's not forget why Biden won, "He just ran a very strong campaign, spoke eloquently and he and his family remained free of any form of scandal."

      Hypocrisy? lol!

I was never a fan of pardon powers as it only leads to corruption- from and by either party. United Citizens v Fed made it worse.

    1. Ronald... as to reigning in the establishment as it relates to money in politics, others would call that an abuse from the "obscene establishment."

Which leaves us at an impasse. Exactly where we are on so many issues.

We've got to decide between a more centralized state with overarching powers, or a collection of mini states free to set their own policies, at the expense of individual expression.

      Delete
    2. We are a collection of mini states.
We set our own policies called a State Constitution.
We are a member of the United States; a Constitutional Republic.
The State Constitution and various Laws can not supersede The U.S.of A. Constitution.
And how come you throw in: at the expense of individual expression.
That never happened before the "centralized state"
which was established after the War Between The States; which was the reason for the War between The North and The South- to establish a Centralized Government (State - with overarching powers).
The 14th Amendment was agreed upon at the point of the bayonet. The 14th amendment which is of the Courts opinion, that says we are U.S. Citizens, therefore no
longer protected by the Bill of Rights.
Which were the Mini States protection from a Dictatorial Overarching Powers of the "Centralized State".

    3. Also, the seat warmers of the "Centralized State" have trained their replacements to chip away at the Constitution and the Educational System to let the Governors and or Secretary of State Decree Laws with a stroke of the Pen and decree Mail-in Ballots are ok as well as no time limit to be mailed in.
Hell we can still mail-in a ballot to the Pennsylvania Election Network.
Just like Obama Decree DOCA in a MEMO-not even by an Ex.Order.
And the Black Robes just upheld a non law "MEMO".

      What is going on?

Texas Has Ask The Supremes just that.
Will we see the Overarching Powers of "The Centralized State" and the demise of our Electoral Process?

  4. I've seen almost all of the Roadrunner cartons--so I thought.
A few years ago I was watching one, and that one must have escaped my memory, or missed it.
The chase scene where Wyle Coyote put his hand around the Roadrunners neck. And then coming around the the turn around the mountain side cops were chasing criminals both in cars and both in a gun fight and the criminals could not make the turn on the winding road at the upper elevation of the mountain; and fell over the side-and dropped all the way down landing on Wyle - breaking the grip around the Roadrunners neck.
These double sided Politicians and Judges have their hand around the Country's neck and no thought of backing off from the best grip on this country since FDR. The Acme anvil/truck is just behind a bit. They have such a good hold on this country that a Wyle Moment is more towards the end of this skit.
Tearing down the Statutes and disregarding our History is all about keeping the next few generations in the dark and will not know about the reason this country was Established.
Why would they? The open borders brigade will have this area on the The World Map as a "just a territory" in the One World Order - One World Religion.
After the White Supremacy script is worn out, then things will turn to the NEW AGE ONE WORLD RELIGION script - then will be thrust upon the inhabitants of Yahua's creation.
Texas has sent the Supremes a shot across the bow.
Now we will see if the Oath of Office-to the Constitution
will have to take a back seat to the

"The Oath - Above All Others"

Just like Roberts who said that we can be Taxed for
not engaging in Commerce; and then fled to Malta.
The home of the Mafia and Knights of Malta (Templar s).
Will the Supremes entertain the Texas Case; much less rule on? Will other States have the backbone to follow into this skirmish?
All that seems to be is a bunch of Ivey League Metro-sexuals.
What we need are Lawyers from the wrecker and truck driver class to meet these domestic enemies head on.
