Silverfiddle Rant! |
For a substantial subset of deranged Democrats, it is case closed: Donald Trump is a white supremacists KKK racist. They refuse to debate. Shouting "Racist" is the nuclear stink bomb ad hominem: It poisons the air and shuts down dialog.
The most pernicious lie that will not die, is that he called the Charlottesville neo-nazis, "very fine people."
Politifact sets the record straight by doing something supposedly responsible news and opinion outlets refuse to do: Publish the entre press conference transcript so people can read and decide for themselves. Here are the two 'Very fine people' excerpts...
Reporter: "The neo-Nazis started this. They showed up in Charlottesville to protest --"
Trump: "Excuse me, excuse me. They didn’t put themselves -- and you had some very bad people in that group, but you also had people that were very fine people, on both sides. You had people in that group. Excuse me, excuse me. I saw the same pictures as you did. You had people in that group that were there to protest the taking down of, to them, a very, very important statue and the renaming of a park from Robert E. Lee to another name."
***
Trump: "Okay, good. Are we going to take down the statue? Because he was a major slave owner. Now, are we going to take down his statue?
"So you know what, it’s fine. You’re changing history. You’re changing culture. And you had people -- and I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists -- because they should be condemned totally. But you had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and white nationalists. Okay? And the press has treated them absolutely unfairly.
"Now, in the other group also, you had some fine people. But you also had troublemakers, and you see them come with the black outfits and with the helmets, and with the baseball bats. You had a lot of bad people in the other group."
Please go read the whole transcript. It is even worse for the lying left when you read the whole thing and gain context. That was a vehemently hostile press conference conducted by a rabid, badgering press that wouldn't even let the President finish a statement. It is clear they did not want clear answers; they wanted news-making soundbites, the more distorted, the better to further defame and slander the President.
The left screams "Racist!" to shut down all debate, because facts are not on their side. They are in a frenzied hysteria, they have lost all reason, and the Infotainment Media Complex is egging them on.
"SJW's" are guilty of a lot, to include poor nomenclature in their self labeling. They believe that not only are they enlightened.....but that their belief is an ultimate truth. Their "wokeness". Another example of poor nomenclature. Truth doesn't matter....only the party narrative. To fill some emotional hole in their lives...or to buttress their contrived sense of grievance - they are compelled to lie in the face of contradictory evidence.
ReplyDeleteI'll state it again....when a speaker lies, either they're ignorant.....or they beleive their audience to be. The Left by no means has the market cornered on this, but the tactic is evident in their framing of nearly every issue in contention today.
And liars & hypocrites should be roundly mocked and derided.
Postscript - These allegedly 'woke' minions are laying the racist groundwork for the coming day when "people of color" will be in the majority; vilifying supposed "whiteness" in order to relegate that demographic to second class status - as some obscene vision of reparations.
DeleteAlso lost on them and their narrative.....is that 'white' is a color too. In the summer months especially, I'm as dark as an average Hispanic.....so I suppose all I'll have to do at that time, is say that I "identify" as such....and I'll be in the club!
White is the inclusion of ALL colors, Black the absence of...
DeleteGood point.
DeleteEd,
DeleteUp vote.
CI: +1 -- The whole racially-charged "Woke" hysteria is ultimately about revenge. Most just don't know it yet.
DeleteObviously the TRUTH has been proclaimed and fully explicated. There is no room for doubt this is so.
ReplyDeleteThe twin Voices of Reason and Authority have spoken, therefore there is nothing left to say, other than "Bye Bye" and "GOOD DAY!"
Oh, and "GOOD LUCK!" too.
cheers!
GO BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM....
ReplyDelete...then come back and show us how to fix.
How is that racist?
Scott Adams tried to kill the "fine people hoax". He couldn't. Proving that the lies are not accidental from haste. They are DELIBERATE.
DeleteAmen!
Delete"The Press" has beshat themselves. No wonder they are held in such low regard.
Still "straining out gnats while swallowing camels, I see. (SIGH!)
ReplyDelete"When will they ever learn?"
Apparently, never, Bobby
AIN'T IT A SHAME?
When will they ever learn? They already have learned. They have learned how to present a false narrative. They have become expert at it. Surely you don't think this is anything other than deliberate?
DeleteTake Silverfiddle's suggestion and read the whole article. Trump is pushing his share of false narrative from the Foxcomm fiasco to infrastructure lies to the false equivalence of statues of Stonewall Jackson and Thomas Jefferson.
DeleteHe refuses to admit that the protest was dominated by the "Jew will not replace us" chant and the burgeoning alt-right. He refuses to admit the bigoted motives behind the erection of most Civil War memorials.
Oh, I believe he's deliberate alright. Deliberately trying to weasel out of facing the bigotry he's made manifest.
The protest(s) in Charlottesville. That's plural.
DeleteOne by "chanting" Whites Supremacists @ night on UVa (who were specifically denounced by ALL parties, Trump included). And another one by history buffs during daylight the following day about statue removals (there being no "good" heritage loving people there, according to the MSM only white supremacists). Antifa also showed up at the second demonstration (they evidently were too chicken to attend the first). But the MSM see no "bad people" in Antifa picking fights with Proud Boys and Klan members who had joined the statue preservers.

There wasn't a statue question on the city council dockett? There wasn't a reason for people who didn't want the statues removed to demonstrate?
DeleteStop being disengenuous ducky. Such Smearing is beneath a "life of the mind".
Trump is left-wing and a former Democrat. Why is it shocking to notice that he's also a racist? The three adjectives are rarely mutually exclusive. It's been a while since God Himself has seen a leftist that wasn't racist.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the weather like in your own little world?
DeleteTrump is a leftist: Lowers taxes, cuts regulations, lambastes democrats.
Trump is a racist: Has dated black women, Rosa Parks Award recipient.
You got the last part right.
Congratulations to those of you who've put the work into constructing excuses for each individual utterance, but there must be over a dozen examples of Trump *nearly* saying something explicitly and unambiguously racist. Why do you think this keeps happening? Do you think it's by accident? Every single time? Is he simulataneously so clumsy that he can't keep his foot out of his mouth (yet sufficiently controlled to avoid putting it in all the way)?
ReplyDeleteOr, does it work to his benefit to flirt with the alt-right supremacist community?
With few exceptions "RACISM" today exists primarily in the eye of Fiercely Bigotted, Power-Mad, Agenda-Driven Leftist-Activist Beholders.
DeletePersistent accusations of "RACISM" is the FUEL that FEEDS and DRIVES the Left. Without "RACISM"the Left would quickly lose its raison d'etre.
. . . And might even "thaw, melt and resolve itself into a dew."
DeleteToo bad the Everlasting has fixed His canon 'gainst political assassination!

@ Jez, Why does it happen? The Left NEEDS Trump to be a raacist. Otherwise there'd be no meaning to their pathetic lives. Their glory days of civil rights achievements can never end.
DeleteJez,
DeletePlease read the transcript. This is not excuse-making. It is illuminating the fact that he never called neo-nazis and white supremacists "very fine people."
Can you read the transcript and admit that? I am very worried the left is whipping itself into a narrow, deterministic hysteria. Its not going to end well.
Yep i listened to his press conferences at the time (lol at his insistence on waiting for full evidence before jumping to conclusions!), and he didn't say that. But he got much closer (close enough for supremacists to perceive approval?) to saying that than eg you ever did; how did you manage to avoid it? And this is far from a one-off incident. His recent "go back where they came from" tweets for example - that's a distinctvely racist phrase. Did he just stumble over that form of words? (Not that exact phrase, but very close).
DeleteWith each incident doesn't it become more likely that it's deliberate?
Thersites,
DeleteThe Left NEEDS Trump to be a raacist. Otherwise there'd be no meaning to their pathetic lives. Their glory days of civil rights achievements can never end.
Excellent point!
Besides, that label has worked so well for so many years -- and one of the reasons that Obama got elected in 2008; people voted for BHO to prove to themselves that they weren't racists.
As usual Franco states the truth more eloquently than most, and as usual his wisdom and cleverness stand unacknowledged. What does that say about the others?
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteFranco is a very wise and clever guy. SF is a very wise and clever guy. AoW is a very wise and clever woman. Jez is a very wise and clever interlocutor. Ducky is a very wise and clever commentator. Beamish is a very wise and clever cynic. Warren is pure genius. If there are others that I have failed to acknowledge, please forgive me.
DeleteNow that we've established the wise and clever, can we get back to meaningful commenting?
Joe,
DeleteYou forgot to mention what an erudite and iconoclastic thinker and commenter Farmer is.
You're too kind!
DeleteHey!
DeleteY'all forget I'm from a more messed up future timeline and I'm just back here making sure it happens.
DeleteCool. Can you tell me when the war with Iran is going to begin? I need to mail some stuff back home first.
DeleteThe war with Iran began in 1979. America never shoots back.
DeleteSome would argue 1953, and that 1979 was when Iran shot back....
DeleteApologies, Ed! I cited names in the thread. Yours is an intelligent voice of reason and midwestern common sense. I like to think of you as a cross between William J. Bennett and Paul Harvey.
Delete...and Ed ROCKS the HOUSE!
DeleteNobody in Iran was alive in 1953.
DeleteSort of a weird - and false - statement.....
DeleteGo back to where you came from … fix it … then come back and show us how its done.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, context and complete quote is everything.
Absolutely correct.....though since the specific and encompassed "go back to where you came from" is a well established racist trope....much of this contrived drama and distraction could ave been spared with some concise speech.
Delete"...then come back and tell us how you fixed it" is a knock on a lack of experience and intelligence, NOT RACE.
DeleteIf the Left could stop parsing and decontextualizing statements for five minutes ALL of this drama could have been avoided, and at least we would ALL better understand the "subject" of the remark (WISDOM not RACE).
...for such is ALSO a familiar trope.
Delete....is a knock on a lack of experience and intelligence, NOT RACE.
DeleteExactly.
SF: sure. We have dog-whistles over here too. You could make that point about experience and intelligence without dropping any racist tropes, so why does Trump choose to do it this way?
DeleteJC: Do you think it's only the lefty woke snowflakes picking up on this stuff? You think racists don't notice the President's language too?
Jez,
DeleteSo you argue for the heckler's veto?
I'm not familiar with the idea, but I don't think so. Just keeping an eye the dwindling stocks of doubt there are left for Trump to enjoy the benefit of.
Deleteso why does Trump choose to do it this way?
DeleteBecause establishment Republicans have been treading lightly on Democrat sensibilities for the past sixty years. Where did it get them?
Trump does it deliberately to antagonize snowflakes. And each time he does it, he gets more love from the base who are sick of "go along to get along" Republicans and "pay to play" Democrats.
As Lincoln said of Grant, "He fights!"
Delete@ Farmer +++ Upvotes
DeleteAnd President Trump also never fails to goad his rabid haters into saying and doing incredibly stupid and self-destructive things.
DeleteThe Mueller hearing was a disaster for Demoncraps. So much fun watching their stink bomb blow up in their faces.
SF,
DeleteSo much fun watching their stink bomb [the Muller hearing] blow up in their faces.
Yep. Quite a day!
But I must say that frail and feeble Mueller appeared to belong in a nursing home. Dragging him to Capitol Hill bordered on elder abuse.
So, now what for the Dems? Will they call for ANOTHER investigation?
I think Farmer is right. It misses the point to observe that his statements are not unambiguously racist: it's increasingly clear with each incident that they are deliberately crafted to be provocative.
DeleteThose among his Base who can't enjoy his race-baiting at face value, do enjoy the predictably infurated response from the Left.
Those among his Base who can't enjoy his race-baiting at face value, do enjoy the predictably infurated response from the Left.
DeleteMost people seem to get emotional gratification from political theater; drama and distraction...
The left has been race-baiting for decades, setting booby traps, spider webs and honey pots for unsuspecting people to stumble into, so the left can then freeze, attack and demonize.
DeleteThe bastards have finally met their match in President Donald J. Trump. I've said repeatedly I don't like his rhetoric, but its about time somebody started swinging back instead of the usual GOP crouching and cowering.
Today, left-wing politics is ALL about generating a false light narrative about people on the right! And Trump is happy to oblige them... but in a manner that provides his defenders with the other "exculpatory" half of the false light accusation.
DeletePresident Trump is a lot like ME in that he sees the blatant FALSENESS, ABSURDITY, and MANIPULATIVE BULLYING nature of POLITICAL CORRECTNESS, and therefore goes OUT of HIS WAY to THUMB HIS NOSE at it openly and unabashedly –– AS DO I.
DeleteI frankly DELIGHT in the disappoval, and RELISH the ill opinion of the dismal sorts of people who delight in "TAKING OFFENSE" and pretending to be SORELY WOUNDED at an ever-growing list of customs, mores, words, gestures, products –– and even THOUGHTS.
We must learn to stand up for urselves, –– using our remarkably valiant and ckurageus President Trump as a wonderful example., If we don't DEFEATand DESTROY this tyrannical LEFTIST CRAP –– we WILL go under.
....but its about time somebody started swinging back instead of the usual GOP crouching and cowering.
DeleteSF - I'll give him points for effort, but slap fights aren't going to change the dynamic....righteous punches would. If he would cease the pathological lying and reliance on political correctness...take some time for education.....he could be an effective force for ideological change.
As it stands now, the Left is just as successful in baiting and hooking his thin skin. And mindless sycophants on both sides are the only winners.
"I've said repeatedly I don't like his rhetoric, but its about time somebody started swinging back instead of the usual GOP crouching and cowering."
DeleteBut isn't this line of resaoning incompatible with the one where we pretend Trump is innocent and the Left is insane or contriving to hear anything at all sinister in his remarks?
Maybe leftist race baiters who have sought to weaponise PC deserve some return fire, but I am adament that we should not overlook the collatoral damage in all of this. Trump isn't the only one telling minorities to go back where they came from, and I'll bet it's being said more often and more forcefully than it was last week. To whatever extent his remarks inspired or disinhibited racists from expressing themselves, he is to blame.
Gang attacks are a separate problem. My (our) objection to Trumpian rhetoric in no way calls basic standards of law and order into question (regardless of whatever other anti-gang policies I might suggest, they must be apprehended and punished severely), but neither do violent muggings do anything to excuse Trump's racist dog-whistling.
Jez, well, we have had gang attacks... from people on the left.
DeletePresident Trump is down in the mud with his enemies, but he is not the second coming of Hitler. Its insane.
What CI said:
"If he would cease the pathological lying and reliance on political correctness...take some time for education.....he could be an effective force for ideological change."
(Like there isn't enough parsing already.) There seems to be a new standard here, at least for the Trump haters. We are asked to condemn for things that are "almost said". We should all know by now that niggardly is a racial slur and proves us unfit for progressive company.
ReplyDeleteI think playing the "almost said" game is infantile.
Yes, sometimes people pointedly and deliberately almost say things. Just ask Alanis to explain irony, or get Freethinke to give you a lecture on reading between the lines. If you're lucky he might treat you to a limerick built around an hilarious play on "niggardly."
Delete'Tis both rude and unkind to be niggardly

I understand how much strength you draw from your hostility, and how it helps to give meanng and purpose to your existence, so I wouldn't dream of depriving you of yet another chance to express it.

For the record, here is the entire "go back to where you came from" quote:
ReplyDeleteSo interesting to see "Progressive" Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly...
...and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run. Why don't they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how....
....it is done. These places need your help badly, you can't leave fast enough. I'm sure that Nancy Pelosi would be very happy to quickly work out free travel arrangements!

The left is in a purple-face blind fury because for the first time ever, a Republican is beating them like bongo drums and stealing the narrative from them.
ReplyDeleteDecades of owning the media and never having to explain themselves has left the Democrat party smug and intellectually-stunted. Not a good combination.
Stolen the narrative? Social media may have.
DeleteThe Mueller testimony validates impeachment for obstruction but the political fallout is still the issue. Nothing much changed.

ReplyDeleteMueller: Russians Also Tried to Help Hillary.
LOL!
Did she accept it like the Trump campaign did? Do you know?
DeleteAnita,
DeleteWhat did the Trump campaign accept from the Russians?
Hillary accepted a dossier full of Russian intel disinformation. Remember the press calling it "kompromat?"
Sure, Hillary laundered her Russian help through buffers and cutouts: Perkins Coie lawfirm, Fusion GPS, a British Inspector Clouseau with Russian connections...
It's a trope turned truism.

Quite frankly, the word "racist" doesn't mean anything due to overuse.
A few days ago, Melainia (sp?)
Was called "racist" for getting a white dog.
I really don't care anymore. Of the word means everything them it means nothing!
Warren - from my cellphone.
Warren,
