Anti-Voter-ID Agitators Are Racists — Or Ignorant.

In the video below, the filmmaker first interviewed liberals, then blacks in Harlem. Please watch the video to the end (hat tip to DC Statesman):

Excerpt from one of the comments at YouTube:
...The things that come out of the liberal snowflake's [sic] mouths are just like Wow...seriously???? Freaking idiots! They want so badly to paint everyone that doesn't agree w/them a racist they just pop sh*t off at the mouth without even knowing what they're talking about.

  1. Democrat progs exploit the poor minority lack of ID the same way Muslim nations exploit the Palestinians.

In both cases, it would be straighforward to help them, but they don't want to. They want them to remain as a festering sore they can exploit for political gain and to divert attention from their own corruption and incompetence.

    1. And yet when the North Carolina voting law was struck down a lower court found it was enacted “with almost surgical precision” to blunt the influence of African American voters.

It wasn't Dems who passed the original law.
As usual the right tries to make this a one sided issue. It's usually here that they trumpet their deep, deep caring for minorities by pointing to their support for charter schools or some such diversion.

    2. An explanation of how such laws prevent minorities from voting would be helpful.

What is your understanding? Can you explain it?

Does the blithe condescension of the young white virtue signalers give you pause?

      Please enlighten us.

    3. Duck,
      Did you watch the video?

As for disenfranchising blacks at the voting booth, voter ID is really nothing like the Jim Crow poll tax.

I have to show a photo ID to be hauled off in an ambulance. It is essential to prevent defrauding my health insurance providers.

I have to show my photo ID at any number of places as well.

    4. SF,
      Looking forward to Duck's explanation.

    5. I predict we'll be waiting a long, long time.

He's not worth it anyway. I have outed him. There is a direct connection between his utterings and the red propaganda bite of the day pumped out by the usual suspects and well-known propaganda outlets on the left.

I don't detect much original thought in Ducky's comments. He and his ilk accuse Rush Limbaugh of being nothing but an unthinking mouthpiece of Heritage Foundation, while they essentially do the same thing.

The psychological projection is stunning, and his Red Propaganda Meme of the Day is predictable boilerplate from the Progressive Ministry of Truth.

    6. Receiving a state issued photo ID requires the monumental effort to present yourself at the DMV or other state office. Pretending that Blacks are inordinately oppressed by this task, is subconsciously calling them lazy and/or ignorant....and this, racist.

If you can't drag your carcass to a state office for an ID....how do you drag your carcass to the voting booth?

    7. Here's the original though to your reaction to the post of an immature Watter's World knockoff that passes for informed news on the fringe right.

There has been an attempt by the right (ref: CI's reply) to limit the question of voter suppression strictly to the issue of ID.
Follow the record of legislation after repeal of the Voting Rights act by the Supreme Court and you will understand the full scope of new legislation.

It includes restrictions on early voting, reduced polling locations in black neighborhoods, voter roll purges as well as ID requirements.

Again, a U.S. court said the North Carolina law (they don't just protect your rest rooms) found it was enacted “with almost surgical precision” to blunt the influence of African American voters.

The exercise here is to present an argument that the right is engaged in voter suppression and allow them to limit the discussion to ID which is just one arrow in their suppression quiver.

I'll wait till you check out Michael Savage's position on the issue before you reply.

    8. I can't even finish reading your blab...so you're suggesting that many Democrats DON'T find voter ID too tough for minorities to comply with?
      Tell us...
And, by the way, do you know that Black families WANT CHARTER SCHOOLS? WANT vouchers so THEIR kids, TOO, can participate in GOOD SCHOOLS.

WHere the hell do you get your information? Think, man.

      Delete
    9. No surprise you didn't finish. You head for the fainting couch any time your world is challenged.

As for charter schools, well I take a lot of my views from the experience in Massachusetts where they aren't very common and expansion was just voted down by a wide margin (yes, even minorities in Boston voted them down).
      Poor Massachusetts school kids ...

And Massachusetts has a strong teachers union too ... think woman. It's true that black parents want good schools, of course that goes without saying but there i no evidence that charters are offering an answer. They average no better than public schools.

But Betsy DeVos has the answers. Married to the CEO of the largest Ponzi scheme in history and sister of a massive Iraq war profiteer will bring her extensive educational knowledge.

Now if you read this far back to the pearl clutching.

  2. I have to show government ID to purchase a firearm, in accordance with my Constitutional rights......so expecting the same in order to vote makes me a big ol' racist I guess.

Unless the snowflakes want to support no ID for firearms sales...I'm cool with that.

  3. Blacks wake-up; condescending White DemocRAT Liberals are NOT your friends! The latter come across as nothing more than over-indoctrinated fools who suffer from the illusion that [they]somehow posses superior knowledge when, in actuality, all they can do is regurgitate, by rote, the drivel from their, so called, educators. That is, after they have been completely purged of common sense! Examples of this occasionally appear on this site.

  4. Did anyone ever stop to think that eliminating any and all requirements to show ID validation might work in OUR favor?

THINK! "We" could vote EARLY, vote OFTEN, and vote OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER at EVERY POLLING STATION in our community and in any AREA of OUR STATE, and in ANY STATE we could reach by automobile or even by airplane.

With careful planning and determination a crafty, devious conservative partisan could cast as many as FIFTEEN or TWENTY VOTES –– maybe more –– for the candidates of his or her choice.

You can be sure that THAT is EXACTLY what the D'Rat operatives fully intend to do with the idiotic policies they are determined to put in place.

Well, TURNABOUT is FAIR PLAY, and What's Sauce for the Goose is Sauce for the Gander, and all that, so why not turn the electoral process into a REAL FREE-FOR-ALL?

This is what Bush called "the soft bigotry of low expectations" and most of us, including you, have blogged on this for a long time. To hear supposedly intelligent people buying into the CRAP that Blacks just can't get it together enough to vote is literally SICKENING.
But, we're the racists....OH, ya, I forgot. Sorry. Oops.

  7. or interview ANY elderly rural person? Geeesh!

Yes, loved this video and all of his work generally. He has guts. Who else would waive an Israeli flag on a UC campus without a bodyguard? (OK, he only lasted 20 minutes before the threats got too serious)

As for "voter restrictions" like taking dead people off the rolls and not giving cheaters a month to run around to every precinct. YES! We want to preserve the integrity of every vote by restricting these shenanigans. Which liberal all-Dem state was it that I wrote about (NJ, RI, ??) whose voter ID laws stemmed from 2 experiences of a female black state legislator? 1) She took her mother to vote soon after he father died and they discovered he had - miraculously - 'voted' - signed the registry and all! and 2) In a subsequent election as she left the polls she saw a young man duck into his car, change clothes, come out looking completely different, and he went in and voted again. She then sponsored the law to require ID. This is only common sense. Any denial of that stems from an agenda other than election integrity.

Now we know 37% of polls in the Detroit metro area recorded more votes on their machines than were manually counted by the precinct workers. Two weeks ago we heard the remotely plausible explanations, and now we know as of yesterday's new they weren't very plausible at all. IT'S OBVIOUS WHAT'S GOING ON!

And I agree with Z - I'm so sick of the soft bigotry of low expectations.

Yes, requiring proper ID at the ballot box is only common sense! We go to the ballot box to elect people who make the laws that affect every aspect of our lives.

    3. For one thing, Michigan has a Republican secretary of state. She is ordering an audit to look for fraud, error or negligence. Apparently this started with finding a precinct that had 306 votes recorded from 50 ballots! I don't think this is what Jill Stein intended to start.

So it was a partial recount. Apparently a court ordered it to complete by last Friday, and they are done as best as I can determine.

All EU nations require voter ID, Australia requires all eligible citizens to vote and enforces it with ID. Canada requires ID even Mexico requires ID. The list of Nations that do is tremendous but for some reason, here in the US, we're a bunch of racists if we think a person should prove that they are who they say they are, we are RAAACCCISTS!

    1. That's right Warren, I'm not concerned about ringers voting because I've seen nothing to suggest it's a serious issue.
In fact, there is evidence that the suppression caused by ID requirements would be a more serious issue.
So before you make silly accusations of what I care about and don't care about just ask.

As I have posted here, I am much more concerned about voter suppression and the rabies media effort to generate mistrust in the voting process is also a concern.

      "Maybe that's the hidden agenda."

It isn't hidden very well to those who pay attention.

It's an actual form of voter suppression.

Why bother to vote if you believe your vote doesn't count because some lowlife will vote multiple times to cancel your vote out? (and get away with it)
