The Agenda

Any dissent from "the narrative" must be squelched.

For example (dated March 10, 2016): Attorney General Lynch Looks Into Prosecuting ‘Climate Change Deniers’.

  1. The agenda is never the agenda.
The agenda is that which prompts the agenda.

  2. To be fair, both sides have "agendas". It's become dirty word, like "activist".

Not only both sides but all people -- even as individuals.

But when the agenda interferes with dissent, a First Amendment right, the agenda becomes a danger to our republic.

    2. Absolutely right. The Amendment serves as a restraint on State power over the citizens speech. Too bad that we've uniformly abrogated our rights in favor of ideological expediency and political power.

Also abrogated in favor or political correctness.

    4. Perhaps; but 'PC' has even less definition or metric than ideological expediency. 'PC' exists solely through the lens of personal bias.

  3. I'd be surprised if ExxonMobil is tried for the falsification of their climate data but their actions were quite likely criminal and a little more serious than climate change denial

MIT Climate Scientist Dr. Richard Lindzen: 'Demonization of CO2 is irrational at best and even modest warming is mostly beneficial.' - 'When someone says this is the warmest temperature on record. What are they talking about? It’s just nonsense. This is a very tiny change period.'

Princeton Physicist Dr. Will Happer: 'Policies to slow CO2 emissions are really based on nonsense. We are being led down a false path. To call carbon dioxide a pollutant is really Orwellian. You are calling something a pollutant that we all produce. Where does that lead us eventually?'

Greenpeace Co-Founder Dr. Patrick Moore: 'We are dealing with pure political propaganda that has nothing to do with science.'

    2. Richard Lindzen's minority view is pretty well know.

Does it have anything to do with ExxonMobil's acknowledged falsification and coverup?

Will the Exxon falsification receive any of the coverage that the supposed NASA falsification received a few years ago?
You know the answer and it's a good example of how corporations are able to manipulate the news.

    3. Duck,
Corporations aren't the only one manipulating the news -- and cooking the books with statistics.

    4. What climate data did Exxon Mobil falsify? I know that the Left has made a big broo-haha over this, but what, specifically, did they do, or were they "alleged" to have "falsified"?

    5. Try the Wiki entry on "ExxonMobil climate change controversy".

I'd say that funding climate change denial while your own research demonstrates the opposite deserves some sort of public sanction.

    6. When will Reverend Al Gore from the UN Church of Gaia be prosecuted for collecting millions off of his alarmism? Seven years ago, that same fount of scientific certainty told us the polar caps would be melted in five years. Wanna talk science? Scientific observations reveal that the ice has not melted from the north and south poles.

So if the cigarette companies had originated a single study showing the harm in smoking... all research to the contrary is automatically being suppressed and a criminal conspiracy?

      Wow.

If gays suppress research showing that they tend toward pardophilia... is THAT criminal?

    8. So ducky,

When are they going to arrest all those DNC stooges in the State Department who covered up for Hillary?

The State Department withheld an email that would have shown — months before it was eventually reported — that Hillary Clinton used a personal email account to conduct State Department business, a conservative watchdog group claims.

    9. Corporattions have got NOTHING on the federal government when it comes to using the press to cover up all their criminal activities.

  4. It's also instructive that the right seems more concerned that Exxon would be prosecuted than they are about the coverup.

  6. It's all very simple.

Agenda IS a dirty word when it applies to the Cultural-Marxists' and One-Worlders' plans for destroying our sovereignty while turning our society upside down, inside out, and backwards.

ACTIVISTS are FILTH when they seek to implement a LEFTIST AGENDA.

  7. Another fine example of left-wing people, who advocate strongly for tolerance, being some of the MOST intolerant people on the planet. It brings into mind the moment when a girl was asked about Trump, she said she hated him. She was asked why she hated him so, she replied, "because he's so hateful."

Basically, what have here is unrighteous judgment acting as righteous judges. Isn't that the same thing the Islamists and far-right wing evangelicals do?

Reverend Al Gore's flock, who jump up and scream "Science" just like the revivalist Christians shout "halleluja," still hold the naive fantasy that Scientists in white lab coats doggedly pursue the "truth" against all odds, etc.

The reality is, they perform the research their funding sources want performed, and those who provide them money have *gasp!!!* agendas.

  9. Those hysterical Warmist loonies shouting SCIENCE!!! at anyone dissenting from the hive need to understand something:

Climate study is a theoretical science, unlike structural engineering. We know how to build bridges and other structures based upon applied science and mathematics. As of yet, there is no such mathematical certainty of man's impact on the environment or what if anything can be done about it.

If the science screamers would put down their hockey sticks and shut their pie-holes for a minute, someon, could tell them that Mother Earth has had some weely, weely bad fevers. She has also been weely, weely cold, covered in great sheets of ice, and all before the internal combustion engine or the coal-fired locomotive.

    1. One more thing; when some of us disclaim the fervor of those committed to the fact that our world is on the way out because of climate change , the left often takes that to the most ridiculous extreme, VERy often suggesting "You don't care about the environment...what's the matter with you, don't you want clean water and air?"
I'd like to remind, for the record before it gets said, that we all want that and we do want a clean earth and we want ALL sides listened to in order to make sensible, beneficial change...

    3. I was listening to last Friday's, "KCRW, Left, Right and Center" and I had to think of you during the "closing rants" when Rich Lowry, house apologist at the National Review chose "the witch hunt of Exxonmobil because it denies climate change" as instructive of how media lies (yes, both wings are culpable) become fact if we aren't getting a diverse media diet.

Of course the issue with Exxonmobil is NOT that it denies the change (that would be expected) but something a little more serious and the spin doctors are making sure that truth doesn't get widespread coverage.

    4. If Exxon is as egregious as you're suggesting, they should be held to the fire, nobody's saying they shouldn't.

"Rich Lowry, house apologist at the Nat'l Review"...you do realize there are many liberal columnists who are hacks, too, yes? "both wings are culpable"...then stop the insults, it does nothing to advance your cause.

We all need to come together and make sensible decisions regarding the changes in weather, including listening to those many scientists, including those who worked with Gore originally, who disagree with CNN and MSNBC.

Isn't it our job as Christians not to let ourselves be overcome by Evil, but to do our best to overcome Evil with Good, instead?

I used to feel that Lisa ought to censor her blog to winnow out the "chaff' and empty the "garbage." I have since come to realize that, because she allows complete, untrammeled freedom of expression at her place, that Lisa's blog is a near-perect microcosm of the "real" world.

It's always tempting to allow oneself to get sucked into the Barroom Brawl - Jr. High Cafeteria Food FIght - Feces Festival atmosphere promoted by a few sad souls who, apparently, thrive on reverting to early childhood's lack of restraint in order to make mischief. Such people have no higher purpose in mind.

      My point?

It is probably GOOD for those of us who at least try to be more thoughtful to be given the opportunity every day to RESIST TEMPTATION, ignore the childish idiocy and do our best to make meaningful statements IN SPITE OF the barrage of BS that wants to dominate the scene.

  16. Sorry Free... I have no need to go where people refuse to be civil.

I'll admit I am a fierce partisan, but I've made a choice not to use certain language and not to wish others ill will, something many people who comment on blogs seems to revel in, especially when they have a different opinion.

Trying doesn't cut it. It isn't good enough.

The language you and others have used, as you say, the feces festival, has no place in society. More so, if people are claiming a faith position, or a belief in God, it is even harder to excuse.

I am all for fair, reasoned and tough dialogue. Language that would make your grandmother blush? Not so much.
