Blog Break

For about a week now, I've been struggling with a stye inside the lower lid of my left eye — the eye which has given me so much trouble over the years, including a 2013 retinal detachment.

My misery index at the time of this posting in 8 out of 10.

I need to curtail my screen time until this eye malady improves.

  1. After my recent bout with conjunctivitis, I can sympathize.

    Hope it heals quickly.

  2. Sorry you are having trouble. Just wanted to update you on the latest Cruz maneuver that's likely to infuriate low information Trump supporters: http://mikesamerica.blogspot.com/2016/04/in-georgia-trump-snookered-again-if-he.html

The bottom line, Trump supporters didn't show up at the district conventions in Georgia on Saturday and Cruz supporters won convention delegate slots. You can't blame Cruz for that. And what does this say about Trump's ability to organize a general election campaign? If Trump can't out organize Cruz in a state he won by a large margin what chance will he have against Hillary?

    1. Mike,
No doubt that Cruz is outflanking Trump on the matter of acquisition of delegates.

But until now, most who vote in primaries didn't know how the process works. They do now, and the anger level is rising because Trumo supporters feel that their votes don't matter, I myself have always understood; therefore, I didn't usually bother voting in primaries.

We're in for a very rough ride till and during the GOP convention.

  3. Z,
    Apologies!

I accidentally deleted your last two comments. My vision is a little wonky -- especially after taking a long nap.
    Antihistamines are making me drowsy.

    1. Mike,
I'm trying to keep up with the news while, at the same time, restricting how much time I spend looking at screens and grading papers.

  6. Hot compresses should help alleviate symptoms, AOW. You might also want to try frequent applications of REFRESH-PLUS or SYSTANE (the ONLY palliative eyedrops recommended by my opthalmologist), then apply MURO ointment at night. MURO has great soothing and healing properties to severely irritated eyes.

    1. I use Refresh-Plus regularly because my left eye doesn't make enough tears.

I'm not familiar with Muro. Will look it up!

My eye is less inflamed today -- probably because I've been applying hot compresses as regularly as I can with my work schedule.

  7. I remember you talking about this before AOW.. DAMN. Prayers for you now and later. Life can't get much worse than when you're struggling with a health issue.

    1. Kid,
To top it off, my colitis is raging as is my sciatica.

I know that I sound as if I'm whining. Maybe I am! But the misery is debilitating.
